Minimum Requirements for veno for Nirvana?

I legitimately levelled this char and my veno (now 98) into their 90's before I levelled the rest of the way using FC. All quests are done too......
I decided to stop levelling my cleric for a while until my veno can get to Nirvana to make money and also to do something different obviously, thinking the veno can do both regular and caster.
I went demon on my veno because I asked a long time ago and no one could come up with a preference for the type of veno they wanted with them in Nirvana.
My veno has a herc and gears are TT90. I get the impression that this gear isnt sufficient for Nirvana and also that the herc has no use in there.
My question is this. What is the minimum requirments Im going to need in Nirvana. What pet skills might be useful if any - mag or pdef debuffs for example? Until I can better afford it, will level 10 of amp and purge suffice or should I sell my mother-in-law and buy the level 11's?
Are any apothecary potions or faction base potions essential or just very useful?
Thanks in advance - I really really dont wanna be a fail veno in Nirvana.

As long as you know how to amp, purge, and keep that ****ing pet of yours in the bag...pretty much any squad will welcome you b:victory.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Well it's not about the size that will **** a lot of people off on the bosses, it's such that when the bosses do their AoE seal (all of the NV bosses do this), the pet will always run away unless the veno is very capable with the pet and can control any sort of movement it might make to run from the boss via a seal.
But most veno's can't, don't, or haven't learned how to do this to a degree where they can keep the pet out in a nirvana run.
The main issue I have with pets is that every time I have one out in the squad i'm with for nirvana, the boss does the AoE seal and bam the pet goes running and so does the boss. This interrupts anybody's DD who wasn't sealed (resist or miss), which means the bosses can actually take up to 3 minutes longer to kill because the DD team (usually APS) ends up having to chase after the boss and run around like headless chickens.
Now this isn't to say that the pet won't be useful for some bosses (i.e. Chicken boss and his fire spawning), but the majority of the time (even though a lot of veno's will argue that the pet is a "Good DD") the pet is a hassle for the main DD team of the run.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

Wouldn't simply using the "Halt" command on the pet once it has engaged the boss effectively stop it from running away from the boss post-Sealing AoE?Acc 1: TolanSky ~ ● Seeker / Daearena ~ Mystic / ThornLily ~ Veno

The only requirement is being level 100. You don't need really great gear to run Nirvana and we've often brought in a veno just to amp and purge. >5khp would be nice, but not required.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0

one other thing i do is pass chi (guess it helps having the demon version) and knowing who needs it and when[SIGPIC]http://i53.tinypic.com/k9ymnq.gif[/SIGPIC]

Caster squads tend to be more picky about your weapon, because they actually care about your damage. Regular squads just care if you can amp/purge/pass sparks. I sold a kidney and my car to get sage amp, but since you aren't sage you can probably get on just fine with level 10.
If you're running with an aps squad, stuff dies so fast that your pet might as well just be there for decoration. b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I feel ripped off ! Dx My demon amp cost me 6mil b:shutup
I used my demon amp to farm nv for money for r8, then did casters to refine that r8, then did more casters?
???
Profit.
by the by... isnt it easier for sage venos to lie about level 11 amp? o.o lvl 10 last 20 sec, so does sage, but demon is a noticeably 6 seconds longer unless your squad doesnt know **** about venos... well that isnt rare... so good luck XD[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Quests are never all done.I decided to stop levelling my cleric for a while until my veno can get to Nirvana to make money and also to do something different obviously, thinking the veno can do both regular and caster.
Any caster can do both.I went demon on my veno because I asked a long time ago and no one could come up with a preference for the type of veno they wanted with them in Nirvana.
That isn't a reason. My veno has a herc and gears are TT90. I get the impression that this gear isnt sufficient for Nirvana and also that the herc has no use in there.
Sufficient for Nirvana, not sufficient for any squad I'd wanna be in. The only instance I know where a pet isn't useful is Warsong. Learn to recall your pet when sealed, and stay close to the boss so you don't **** off the melee by breaking perma-spark.My question is this. What is the minimum requirments Im going to need in Nirvana.
Level 100 toon with 1 Nirvana Palace Key.What pet skills might be useful if any - mag or pdef debuffs for example?
Bash for extra dmgUntil I can better afford it, will level 10 of amp and purge suffice or should I sell my mother-in-law and buy the level 11's?
There is no benefit in Nirvana to have L11 purge, and any L100 toon should have no problem affording L11 Amp within a month if not a week.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

I absolutely hate Nirvana. You'll only find me running it if, for example, you needed your 99 key quest... and I'd insist that you keep my share too.

Jees tweakz you sound like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. Anyway thanks everyone for your replies and advice.0

Concerning gear:
When it comes to normal Nirvana it doesn't matter all that much because APS people will have aggro except for a few hits you might get once in a while due to the random aggro thing bosses have but you can easily survive that with potions, AD, bramble hood and such. I'd advice you to try and have over 5k because **** happens. Usually, people don't care for the Venomancer's weapon there but for the debuffs.
When it comes to Caster Nirvana, things are different. You need decent DD power (so they ask for good weapons) otherwise it takes long. You also need good gear, it may be Caster but bosses spawn mobs with significant physical damage (including physical debuffs) and, of course, good HP. Anything over 5k should be fine at the start but you'd need to eventually improve your Venomancer over time.
It depends a lot on the squad itself, though. If squad's good, then the run will be smooth.
Concerning pet:
Unless you are able to halt/call pet back and, in other words, control it well then it's better to keep it in bag. Sometimes, though, squads may not be bothered by it so if they ask you to take it out you may choose to either do it or explain to them why you don't do it.
Also, Hercules. The other pets can't survive (unless they have the buffs). For the Phoenix (aka chicken) boss you better use a ranged pet. It's so much better for the reason that the boss moves a lot and spawns fires. Unless you're unlucky and have the fire spawn on your pet, it will hardly ever move (unless sealed) and it will be DDing non-stop.
Concerning skills:
Well, it depends. Some people are fine with any Amplify but other squads ask for lvl11 one (either Sage of Demon. The difference between them isn't all that big). The latter may as well be the ones asking for a good weapon. You may have to join non 5.0 APS squads at first while you work your way up to better gear and skills.
Camp Auction House (not literally speaking) for demon skills. Sometimes you may find good deals and that's pretty much what I did. I waited patiently for good and cheap skills to appear in the AH. I refused to hit 100 without having most of my demon skills but considering the current times you may not have that much time available to wait. With BH rewards you could sponsor yourself for the skills.
I didn't buy Demon Amplify myself but it was a gift, however, sometimes you can find it for only 6mil since many people don't consider it that worth it (possibly due to the wrong description it has in-game). Abbadon, correct me if I'm wrong, has a chance to drop the skillbook. You can try running some free-wine-books-mine BHs. I do that and I was lucky twice getting skill books 20mil worth of coin. So even if it's not Amplify, you might get another profitable skill.
I did cube to get Demon Parasitic Nova. I was lucky and got it with a second try (aka two months) and along the way I also got some ecstasies and EXP, it was worth it. Extra mini-HF is nice sometimes.
Cube skill book also includes Lending Hand and you better get that one. For the cooldown alone, it's worth every damn cent.
Bramble Guard is also a nice skill to have. 75% reflected damage and it's not that expensive. You may find it for only 4mil. Other nice skill to have is Crush Vigor, to keep your chi up, and it's fairly cheap. May find it for only 500k. Also, Myriad Rainbow, both skills, and spam them as much as possible (then use Crush Vigor for the chi).
There are also several Venomancer tips related threads, about Nirvana even, so take a look at the Venomancer sub-forums. I also included some information about it in my article "Role of the Venomancer" on pw wiki. Because, gear aside, skill matters the most. If you're good, they'll take you again. If you're a bad Venomancer, not even rank 9 will convince them b:chuckle

Well Sage Amplify indeed is better but..the difference isn't all that big according to this forum post right here. I trust Solandri's numbers.
It comes down to Sage Ironwood. It's superior hands down but people act as if Armor Break from Demon Venomancers happens like once in a blue moon. With two Myriad and the Ironwood, it's not that rare to have the proc (assuming that the Veno uses the skills as much as possible). Otherwise there is the extra Amp from Demon Parasitic Nova (yeah I know most Venos are lazy to do cube.) but I have to include this. And Demon Bramble is pretty nice to have in Nirvana. In the end, the Veno might as well choose to leave Ironwood at lvl10.
There's Extreme Poison and Tangling Mire too. Yes, Sage Venos can have them too but I'm just mentioning them since I don't really see Venos using them in Nirvana when I run them with Cleric
So I don't see why someone "should" go Sage as far as Nirvana is concerned. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I don't like seeing them going all "you should choose this path!!"
Both paths are pretty balanced in my opinion, unlike with other classes that have clear differences (Sage SOV/ Bubble superior to Demon ones by miles). It boils down to playstyle and the skill of the player behind the Veno, if they keep debuffing, passing chi, spam their genie debuffs, myriads etc. etc. etc. If someone wants to choose a path I tell them my experiences as a Demon Veno and the pros/cons I see and tell them to go find a Sage one to hear the other side of the coin and choose the path by themselves.

The only thing most squads want is for you to amp, iron, and possibly purge. You don't even need a magic weapon to do any of those
5.0 HA veno with no magic is probably the best nirv veno. The second best is every other veno (as long as they don't die or AFK).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
