ok so after months of studying and researching a cleric inside and out, i finally decided to go back on pk mode and face the OP rank8 clerics of our server (no mistype, even rank8 clerics are OP). the moment i walked out, i used my ironguard, and they used plume shell.
my whole duration wasted.
next i use anti stun but they flew in the air. (i looked in their inventory before hand and saw they didnt have an air mount).
my whole duration wasted.
lastly, i used my ultimate move... from all my research. i pressed armageddon but canceld it midway to fake the move, she instantly ironguarded. but.. but.. but... even a cancel armageddon took half my hp, ticked my charm, got slept instantly for 30 seconds or so, but didnt matter cuz i got tripled spark tempest and died in 13 sec.
WE NEED NERF PLEASE!

This probably isn't a serious thread but clerics are actually really good in both PvP and PvE supporting which is probably too much (Magic-class wise). dat 30 second sleep man.
But there's worse class balance stuff.

a decent cleric = dies pvp
a good cleric = does ok pvp
a great cleric = does amazing in pvp
but ya, the options you gave just don't even work. if you were going to IG a cleric with anti stun, i mean dude why. are you an idiot
using anti stun and they fly *ofc their gonna fly their ****** WINGED elves (hint:hint)* and ya bta can't fly without wings. and even if they don't got em on when you check them, they can put em on mid combat, any char can change gear mid combat so long as it's in their inventory.
2nd l2play, if a cleric 3 sparks you just invoke *if they sleep > debuff > 3spark > cloud erruption > tempest. and that actually 1 shots you. then either your a really bad geared barb, or their in a +10 wep or higher.
besides no 1/2 intelligent cleric would both 3 spark and temp in a row against a barb. the chi is much better used with silent seal, chromatic seal, plume shell, guardian light, wings of protection, and seal of the god. *to lower the dmg of bestial onslaught since a 1/2 decent cleric will only ever let you hit them with onslaught, since the'd just expell/AD arma* and the others arent worth mentioning in dmg since shell absorbs them with a mana charm.
so ya, fail troll is fail. a good cleric is hard to kill, but you went about the entirely the wrong way in the 1st place.0 -

I just love listening to PK stories from PvE servers.
BTW, Clerics are one of the most difficult classes to PvP with.
Triple > debuff > amp >tempest is almost as one-trick pony as tree of perdition.

Eh, my veno killed two different 10x barbs at 85 a day apart nearly 2 years ago. They weren't R9, but they were both wearing decently refined 90/99 gear. There's no way I should have been able to, but they were pretty horrible. And both of them were furious after. b:pleasedI post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

Well since I'm here I might as well take it over.
R8 clerics can not be beaten in pk except by assassins. Even then only if they don't have the epic necklace of fate. Or belt of singing.
Additionally, R9 Clerics can not be defeated by anyone. Period. Repeated. I say this only in the knowledge that Any cleric spamming Ironheart on themselves will be considered invincible by means of not one shotting them.
I conclude, that a cleric who has used a minimum of 5 IH casts (1 cast =1k hp recovered per tick with R8 weapon, 2k with R9, 2k times 5 = 10k hp recovered per tick, heyuck! (Goofy)) Is to be considered unkillable!

Pfft i dont use ToP to arma i invoke run out with my chi skill on anti stun arma then ToP to run my *** to sz b:laugh and thats how you kill ppl with arma unter wise ur dead after u cast it cause u just ticked your own charm like a dumb ***0

lol, and I rpk'd some random psychic on my veno and he got all butthurt. Said "so you like PKing lowbies" and I just "lol"d at him. He said the all classic "so you want me to bring my main?" I was like sure, come on over... Then all of a sudden Wadzio shows up and 2 other people I was with ganked him a couple of times. He was sitting there battling 3 8x and died like twice before getting us split up enough to take us all out. Was f'n hilarious. So I was in vent, told Almon and someone else that Wadzio was at Villiage of the Lost... So someone (don't remember if it was Almon or Pervs) proceeded to 1v1 Wadzio... there were like a dozen Essence there just to watch... they fought him without a charm and killed him like twice. So you're saying that clerics can in fact be good at pvp? Don't contradict yourself next time.
The formula for a good cleric.
Weapon=They kill you, you kill them.
Armor= They survive you, you survive them.
Both= They kill you after surviving your stunlocks and whatnots. Then kill you afterwards.

Because the general mindset is this.
Clerics are healers not DDers!
Clerics are squishy! (Cough, wizards/Mystics/Psyics/Venos/assassins, cough)
Clerics sucks!
And so...because of the general mindsets of others, noone bother (The ones who have the money) to jack up a cleric with "Good" gear and test out its potential. Especially the people who actually know how to use class skills correctly and not rely on gear alone.
But that may just be me...
