Lifetime Subscription, similiar to Champions Online

After Perfect World Entertainment purchased Cryptic from Atari, I have been playing their superhero game Champions Online for quite a while, and I have noticed some great ideas and deals that they have that I think Perfect World Entertainment should encorporate into all their games hopefully, most noticeablly, their Lifetime Gold member subscription pack. Allow me to explain and compare for you. :)

Similiar to PWE games, in Champions Online you can purchase CP points, which are like Zen, to buy things from the cash shop. After a while though, the zen begins to add up and you lose money fast, so in order to keep their playerbase happy, they gave the OPTION for a monthly membership, called the Gold members bonus. Gold bonus gets alot of stuff you would normally have to pay for seperatly, in one pack. Since this isn't a thread about the Gold bonus, here is a link to further info, that you really should check out. http://champions-online.com/f2p_matrix

It gets better though, not only can you buy the Gold bonus monthly, you can buy it FOREVER for only $299.99 Yeah, this sounds like a rip off, but it also comes with more features that can be found in this link. http://champions-online.com/lifetime

That's right, you don't have to pay for anything anymore, and the benifits add up over time, because every month they get 400 CP to spend on things in the cash shop. 300 dollars sounds like alot to pay for a game, but it actually pays itself off 69 months before you buy it! Just imagine all of the savings and deals you could get in PWE's games, like PWI or Rusty Hearts.

Here is a very imformative link on why this deal is certainly awesome http://forums.champions-online.com/showthread.php?t=132204

I believe that players wouild buy a lifetime pack for PWE games, and it would bring in PWE some cash, therefore both sides are very happy. If you agree with me, post here to show support, and maybe we can have this implemented. If you don't agree, or think i'm on crack, post here too on changes you think should be made for my suggestion or why you don't want it.

With luck, somebody with a voice will see this, like a mod or a GM. :)

You know, I rather pay 0 and still am able to play just fine. lol

Besides that, I know people that spend more than than once a month. So they would be loosing money from those players. It just won't work with F2P. b:chuckle

I have thought about that too, but just think of all those shoppers that wouldn't normally buy zen but now would with a pack, kinda like people who shop at those stores that sell things in huge bundles. Many people would be attracted to this who normally wouldn't and those monthly buyers still have the option to spend monthly if the situation fits.

But I still play PWI and Champions Online without spending a single cent, I just thougth it was a good idea. :)

Well, that was my opinion, thanks for sharing yours!

That game was built around a subscription, so for them to switch to that isn't a huge deal. PWI has never been based on a similar idea, so that really wouldn't work here.

Great suggestion, though... keep up with the good ideas.b:mischievous

It was worth a try, and I still have other ideas to come. x) Thanks for your input.

Edit: I added a poll option for those who would like that.

I honestly wish this game was p2p, but they would lose out on so much money. Even if they forced every player to pay a monthly fee, they'd still would of made more money with the CSers spending x amount of dollars a month and letting the f2p players go free.

    ❤ No more PWI for me~ ❤

TBH...I'd rather play a free game then pay money for something when I don't really need to get much outta cash shop. almost everything in the cash shop is buy-able from other players. Which you can farm money to get those things, still making it free. So...instead of paying a ton of rl money, it's easier to just farm in game. If you wanna spend rl money its nice to know you have that option. Options are always better than having no choice at all. the more options you have, the more interested people will become in a game. Especially if its free to play. However, some people are just lazy and prefer to spend cash on it. Which is great because it keeps it free for the rest of us. lol
