I Have No Characters

I logged into the game today to play on my new laptop, and yes, it is windows7, but everything else runs fine. I can instal it, log in, I can even create a new character. But...none of my actual characters are there. It says that I have none. I had my boyfriend log into his game to check if we were still married and we are, which means that my character exists, it's just not showing up. x-x Please help.
