Dismal Shade's surprise guest

This lvl 43 archer and I (lvl 44 cleric) decide to try and do Seal the Dismal Shade with just the two of us. She had just picked up the quest and I didn't think we had time for me to get the same quest because it's timed.
We kill most of the Skelevizen Lieutenants inside and starts working on the Dismal Shade while I spam her with IH and occasionally fend off the respawned Skelevizen Lts. We managed to kill Dismal Shade but I got slammed by a Guardian Tombstone (didn't even notice them) and died. No big deal. The archer got the quest.
So I went and got the quest and we tried again. This time she got too close to DS and died. By the time I revived her there were too many mobs on us. We both died again.
OK. So we try again and are doing just fine. Got DS down to less than 10 percent of his HP and from stage right comes this big SOB of a dog.
I think were both looking at this mob going What the....? Silver Frost - two shots. We're both dead.
What is a lvl85 mob with 5,175,300 HP doing in a lv40 - lv50 quest?
I'd like to finish this quest. What do I have to do? Get 5 lvl105's to beat the **** out of this dog when I'm doing DS?
I refuse to b:surrender

Nah, just drag the shade to the opposite side of where Silver is. Also, you'll need Silver in the future to unlock OHT. And 5 105's would be overkill lol.0

Silver Frost is for a much higher level quest, you're unlucky he spawned on you. You really need a larger group to do that at low level, someone to keep the mobs off and someone to kill the boss as well as a healer.
Sorry mate, you might just wanna ask someone to solo it for you.I've quit excluding TW for my faction. But I still hang around to help out those who still enjoy the game under PWEs horrific handling and to have fun in the forums. b:cute

Silver Frost is needed for a Cultivation Quest later and as long you carefull he wont bother you. Just dont run in his direction, hes aggro range is very small and the room is big enough to avoid him.I hate Room 380

The real question here is why didn't you pick up the quest?
If i remember correctly there is a 2 hour timer...

Your right. In retrospect, I should have taken the time to go get it and we both would have had it first time around. We just had no idea how long the quest would take.
On the other hand it was a challenge and we had fun doing it even if we did die and it was a valuable learning experience including the advice from posters in this thread.Cleric - lvl 101

I did Dismal at the level it was given, by...OMG pulling him off of the stage and to the small hallway off to the side, opposite of Silver Frost. So, it's completely doable at the appropriate level, assuming you know what you are doing and didn't hyper your derriere up.Not motivated enough to make another PWI siggy0

Oh God, yes it did. I think when I did it, there was two clerics: one to heal the tank and the other to keep the rest of us alive.Not motivated enough to make another PWI siggy0

That boss is solo-able at level its given only Clerics I assume(Unless you got an OP gear at lv.40...),I did it myself.And I found simpler to solo it as Cleric rather than having to worry to purify 2-3 people,at that level purify as quite long cooldown and its not like it doesn't cost chi.
And as other said,Silver Frost ins't big deal to avoid unless you go right under his nose.<-- Signature Space -->

u r right dismal shade at low level is hard, but trick is kill mobs, then the archer pulls the boss to the opposite hall of silver dog, that hall is like an "L" so the archer attacks from the first part of hall , the cleric stands at the fartest corner of the "L", and spams iron + puri + iron + puri and so, you may have better results this way b:victory0

I tried to solo Dismal at the level I got the quest at with my cleric and I ran out of mana pots lol...the problem is that it takes too long.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

you have to be more aware of your surroundings. I too also did that boss back in the day 2008 and i was careful to note every mob around that might aggro. Umm... right. Even with purify fists, Dismal's melee attack and stacking poison (for when it didn't proc) would be far too much for a BM to solo at level.
Back in May or June of 09, one of my friends solo'd dismal at lvl 41 or 42, without genie and only average gears. She was pro.
