Comment needed [build]

Hello, I would like you pro BMs to comment on my builds. I am starting to play a BM since I am sick of seeker being useless everywhere except TW.

Garnet Gems in the weapon, not +crit

Also deicide doesn't upgrade to Windpour for NV transfer. Deicide goes to Regicide - Nirvana, Windpour - Nirvana is gained from the 99 gold fists Catacomb: Berserker.

I know, but it looks cooler, and getting tt99 when i have raptures ready for upgrade won't be a big problem (as well as I can sell my deicide for extra cash).
Why not crit though? Isn't it more beneficial?

I'm not good in the math department on this game, but basically you are a melee you want more damage not more crit.

If you were a sin or archer...you could possibly get away with adding it, but as a BM your best shard for a weapon is a garnet gem so you can increase your DPS/DPH.

Ehhh...the only other thing is that on the Nirvana armor you will want to put JoSD into the armor as it'll give you a defense % (of 2 lvls) bonus that will actually reduce the damage you take.

And the rest of the armor...ehhh I personally would of put in Vit stones instead of the saph shards...but that is me.

Your dex on all builds is way too high, goto 200 dex (220 max) with gear. Rest into STR, or go min STR for axes and rest into vit is a more TW-minded build.

Comments on each build:

Current build:
Seems ok, shouldnt worry too much about gear and worry more about getting leveled. Seems youre planning to level up pretty quick as your near future build has you at 100. Consider getting a decent pair of axes (calamaties are cheap and erffective at your level, and can maybe last you till 90 where GX are an option or 100+ where nirvana, r8, r8+ and r9 are options worth considering) and learn to use them, if you dont have already.

Near future build:
Looks like a nice set up for a cheap 5aps which will take you further and allow you to farm. I dont think sapphire gems are your best option, especially as it looks like a PVE build and youre a BM, we got marrows =p. My next point is maybe just stick with immaculate cits in the tt99 (or grade 12) gear, seems like a waste to heavily refine and get decent shards in something thats so.. relatively low grade and will probably be replaced for 'endgame PVP'.

Final build:
Weapon : Is really a matter of choice, what you got seems good, as mentioned by my colleague below, crit stones should be replaced by Garnet Gems. You might also want to consider TT100 fists (~150m or less, always 2 soc) Grade 15 nirvana (will lose an -int and will have to rely on TT99 LA setbonus, but good for farming if you can swap the gears out with something better for PVP) or even sticking with Decides, maybe get some 2 soc and +10 them, for a cheaper but effective version. I think the 'best fist wep' debate has been had many times on this forum, maybe give them a search

You definatly need to think about what axe is best to go for and come up with an axe plan, especially if you wanna TW.

Armour: Like I mentioned previously, seems a waste to +10 and shard TT99 gear. Maybe keep your TT99 Boots and wrists at +7 or so and go R9, Hrage, Nirvana etc and +10 them for PVP/TW. You only need 2 parts of TT99 HA for the int bonus, so consider hitting nirvana on the top and keeping the Forest Wisdom helm you gave yourself in the 'near future build'. As also previously mentioned, Vit stones are probably a much superior option to sapp gems. Remember, sins and archers can hurt and sapp gems give you no protection what so ever

Cape: might also want to consider not +10ing that cape, as its kinda a 'farming cape'. It is semi decent though, could be replaced with a WoC / Matchless Wings / Nirvana etc further down the line.

Rings / Ornaments / Tome all seem in order.

Concur with Steopie. I'm glad Steopie brought up the socket calculator.

Overall in my experience:

I can only add that I'd skip the near future and go straight for the final build, unless you plan on account stashing that stuff to another toon. Would save you money in the long run.

In terms of gems, breaking it down easy:

Weapons: Garnet Gems. Period.

Armor:
PvE: DoTs in armor
PvP Cheap: Vit Stones
PvP Expensive: JSoD

In terms of weapons at +10, raw damage:
At +10, the difference between Deicide 2 Socket and G13 1 Socket is about 2%.
At +10, the difference between G13 2 Socket and SD 2 Socket is about 1%

If you're thinking cost effective, +10 Deicide 2 Socket is the way to go. I farmed the hell out of Nivana with +10 2 Socket deicides just fine, nobody batted an eye even in 2 mans. SDs will do a tiny bit more damage in Nirvana, but G13 will outclass SDs everywhere else. G13s upgrade to G15s cheaper than SDs.
