in the old days a lot of people would get Bash because that extra damage really does aid in keeping aggro, especially with magic mobs

now with the fish and all this APS **** I'm really not sure anymore b:embarrass
though it still helps keep the mob off you should you be soloing, providing you don't have like a R9 +12 weapon or something that could make it completely obsolete...but in that case you shouldn't need to rely on your herc anyway

Duct tape is like The Force: bright on one side, dark on the other. It holds the world together, and, if not handled correctly, becomes a sticky mess.

Ok, I can certainly understand blessings as an option - but why on earth are people voting for fleshream?

Anyway - old school bash for me. It can't hold aggro from a fish; but then, it could never hold aggro from archers or BMs or barbs either.

It helps hold from *me* and the quick cycle is important especially when AOEing, because you want one skill use on each mob in the pack.

i see votes and realize once more ppls have no idea about veno class even if is main

first of all bash won't hold agro anymore ..anyone can get rank8 at least or more and at that point phoenix can't hold agro...

second hercule is not what used to be anymore hence all aps class and stuff...30%hp will help ur pet survive in very hard instances or boss..dmg he does is nearly 0 so better have him safer

and third best skill of all for me was ...roar ...because u can help return agro if something go wrong...but i had to put bless on my hercule....in long run i found better he has 6000 hp instead 4630...at lvl 101

but for a cheap option i found roar much much better....since bash is useless nowdays...don't activate roar and use when is need to save cleric or tank a bit

It kind of depends what you consider doing with Hercules.

If you're planning to solo many many things, Blessing is your best bet. If however you want to just solo things, Bash can work well. Also, it's pretty good for AOE (although reflect does most of the job there).

If you plan to use your Hercules in squads mostly, Roar would be useful. Although I don't particularly recommend using Hercules in squads most of the time (when it doesn't tank) since there are much better DPS pets out there.

As for me, I solo things a lot and I farm together with/for friends and/or faction mates so I chose Bash. Yes, I need to hold back a little not to steal aggro but in the long run, Bash has been most helpful for me.

However, I do have a secondary tank, Shaodu Cub in my case (old tank pet before I got Hercules) that has both Bash and Roar and I use it for those moments when Roar is needed. Sure, I have to summon the Cub and all but, unless I tank, I don't have the Hercules out anyway (I have a dps/debuff pet out instead).

So choose accordingly to what you plan to you. Also, Flesh Ream is kinda out of the question. Bash generates the same aggro as Flesh Ream but faster due to a shorter cooldown.

Plenty of reasons to discuss roar vs bash, sure. Though for the "Instant reclaim" I actually prefer keeping pounce (its stun means you save the fool who drew the aggro; though yeah, it cycles slower and doesn't guarantee a steal)

But for general use; I do still prefer bash. But then, as can be seen from my continual level, I'm not a "Rush to rank" muppet.

Depends on server. I haven't seen that skill in ages but last time I did was around 30mil-40mil. Prices might have fallen though due to the lower demand of Hercules (by the squads). Either way, it's an expensive skill so choose wisely.

According to http://www.ecatomb.net/pwi/pet_database.php at lv100 a herc with claw lv5 will do almost 500dps than a herc with bash lv5.

Bash is the cheap option, claw is the slightly better and very expensive option

Bless is useful but it mostly helps if you like to tank things.
