Seeker underpowered at low levels?

I have a mystic main, and I was really excited about making myself a new seeker, that was until I tried killing some stuff with said seeker.
He was constantly dishing out 1-2 dmg per hit, I mean i can't even level the guy (w/o questing)
It's really discouraging me to continue with this seeker. Will he get stronger if I put effort into him?Or should I just go along and make a barb? (Oh wait,I did make a barb b:laugh )

Feedback much appreciated, and I wanna stress that I'm not insulting the seeker class.

I made a Seeker to test this. At level 1, with the default weapon, fighting a level 1 mob I was able to do 9 points of damage with the skill and 4 points of damage on auto-attack.

Which brings up a few interesting points....

    1. What the hell are you doing wrong? Obviously, there has got to be something. What you describe is far from normal.

    2. What level is your seeker?

    3. If it's above level 1, where have you distributed your points?

    4. What level is the mob you are trying to fight in relation to your level?

    5. Assuming that you're above level 1, have you kept up with gear and skill upgrades?

    6. In the long run, playing a seeker is much more enjoyable than playing a barb and you can quite nearly do the same stuff with less hp. (I can attest to this as I have one of each class over level 90.)

I'm really curious though about what you could have done wrong here though, because if you're hitting less than a level 1 with default gear, something obviously isn't right. I'm not trolling or flaming here. I am genuinely interested in hearing more detail and helping you figure this out.
In the early levels of my seeker I was quite impressed with the amount of damage that was dealt. (In comparison to other melee classes that is.) It was close to the level of an arcane class, which is quite a bit of damage for melee.

he probably doesnt have a weapon equipped. but regardless, seekers damage sucks early on, but guess what? so does EVERY melee class at that level. caster classes have always outdamaged melee classes early on, its what makes them so attractive.

But as you progress into your 30s and on you will start to see a definite difference in output damage. just stick with it, and equip a wep for gawds sake.

Edit: or he thinks hes a magic class and is using the 9 - 1 template for magic users every 2 levels, that would put a definite dent in damage

That's what I was initially thinking, but who knows.
And yeah, damage is going to be lower than a mage class, but the seeker is a skill-oriented class, more of a melee-mage, so the damage output is a bit larger than your other melee classes even at the lower levels. Personally, I didn't have any troubles with soloing everything, including the bosses, until the larger bosses in the upper 20's.

Lol,not doing anything wrong,I have the default equipped as well.I'll take screenshots if you guys like.

And LOL,I'm not a fool to think the seeker is a mag class,lv1 so I have no pts to distribute, really.

I haven't equipped any of the free gear given to new chars, mainly cuz I was only on my seeker for about 5 mins.

And look, all I'm stating is the first impression the seeker class gave me,no need to tag me with the 'noob title'.

    Well,screenshots will tell.

LOL I wasn't tagging you as a noob, but we've seen our fair share of such out here on the forums and in-game.

OK, well at level 1, any melee toon is going to have a low base damage, but if you're fighting the mobs for your quests there, you should be doing more damage that what you described.
Even hitting a level 2 or 3 mob shouldn't reduce your damage to the numbers you stated.

yea noone called you a noob we were just trying to figure out what the problem you were having with limited information, you never stated your seekers level, what mobs, your stats or gear. you basically left it all up to speculation, and asked for feedback.

you got exactly that, sorry if it wasnt what u wanted to hear but they are logical explanations.

Maybe he was attacking the squirel mobs that appear in the safezone? They are hard mofos at lvl 1...

What he said about the 1 damage is true. I tried hitting puff puff birds with a level 1 seeker with the default sword and the seeker only did 1-2 damage.

Why would anyone try leveling without quests that early in the game?

And fwiw, I'm a beast for my level. I have no idea what OP's doing wrong.
