Starting out..need some advice

I tend to be alt addict.
But I am looking at using this character as my little banker and somewhat grinding her up to get some starting funds (and breaking down items for chi stones to store) Had a few other characters and purging them (got to love the 7 day wait)
Now I am thinking of making a main as a venomancer as well (when I get a decent head start on items and such).
Now on genies, is there a recommended PVE set up for stats? right now her zeal is 10/10 with everything put into magic pushing it to iirc 39 right now. I am thinking of adding to 40 in the other sets, or boosting magic up 50 (to drop the recharge rate). I haven't even specced the affinity or skills yet. (got a couple of level 1s from old alts in the bank to work with in the future too)
But what is a good starter level of cash to have?
Is it worth it to learn crafting? (because I know to break down items I have to = crafting level)
I got 50 hay stashed away for the 1st pet slot unlock, looking into what is needed for the rest.
And I though of adding zen, but the exchange rate is insane so no go there.. I can dump it into FW and get a better return on it.

These are some useful genie skills for a venomancer at lower levels:
-Holy Path (run at 15.0m/s for a few seconds). It's an essential skill for almost any class (except barbarians).
-Extreme Poison (+20% damage for a few seconds). Also goes well with any class, but goes extra well with the veno's Amplify Damage skill. Not a great idea to use this often while grinding due to stamina costs, but it's very useful in a squad.
-Second Wind (instant ~1600 hp heal with a genie with decent STR). This is a good skill to put on genies with low lucky points (which you will most likely get rid of at later levels) since it loses usefulness at higher levels. As a veno you shouldn't need any healing other than your 50% hp recovery skill, but this is more of a skill for those ''OH SH*T'' moments.
-Fortify (immunity to stuns for a few seconds, decreases magical def) this one is great to have when you get your level 79 skill, Feral Concentration. This skill makes you immune to damage for 10 seconds but also stuns you. By using this genie skill right before casting it, you will not be stunned.
A good starter level of cash for a venomancer would be roughly a million. This will cover most of your skills for a long while since you don't really have to spend money on anything other than skills, teleports and a minimal amount of potions.
Crafting is only worthwhile to learn at endgame if you're hellbent on having your own name on your equipment (like me b:chuckle). The first few levels are fairly cheap, but then at level 3 the costs start going up like mad. It's best to just buy Perfect Stones from the auction house or catshops since those are probably cheaper stamina than decomposing random items (not to mention leveling crafts to do so).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Well the only crafting tree that looked nice was maybe armor or making remedies to help a bit.
Armor not so much after looking at thread drop rates/costs..
But remedy can be useful I think, and can farm herbs like mad while grinding out quests (and pets to send to the main.. scored a cheap glacier walker already from a catshop)
Plus figure I can just break down the low level stuff and get a decent stack (got a bit from doing it on the others) of chi stones to feed fairys.
And figure I can use the extras as exp drains to keep my character's advancement a little slower, and if they turn out well sell them and keep the best for me. Allowing me to level pets up and grind what I need for quests/expansion slots.0 -
I am thinking of using 2000 pts from doing surveys and stuff to get some gold.
Now I can see the usefulness of the account stash upgrade for sure.
Now should I spend some of that remainder to get tome pages and make a level 1 tome for the veno and sell the 1g left over. Or sell the total 5 gold and start out with some coin?
Or wait and save up for the inventory and cage super size items? Safe is down the road0
