Phoenix Nest Wedding

A few days ago, I got married ingame. We decided to have our ceremony at the Phoenix Nest because neither of us have ever been there. After inviting about half my guild, and several good friends, I had my wedding about two hours ago.
It was a disaster.
The first part started out good; we got beautiful fashion to wear. After the quests started, it was pretty much boys vs girls to see who could turn in the most quests. (Another guide I've read says the girl was locked into a room.. that didn't happen to me o_O) After succesfully finishing up, I got two quests to pick two different types of flowers 9 times, while everyone else picked random ones. Finally after that, we said our vows and waited for these 'tables' to spawn. Nothing happened. After waiting for about twenty minutes, I ask my husband if theres any quest he can pick up, and he says theres only four that all cost 7m-8m to hire waiters and pork/chicken feasts and w/e. We summon the pork feast, because by this time theres ten minutes left in the instance and we're desperate. Two tables spawn, and two fac mates summon the little pig boss without realising that it too, costs 7.8m to summon. Each. After we all tele out with our meagre rewards, both of the people who summoned it exclaim - "All our money is gone!" Apparently the little pork feast table thingy took all of one girls 63m, not just 7.8m.
So after spending ~30m for packs (got them on sale), ~3.5m for invites, 500k in decorations and 15m in total for the tables required to get contribution, we get: Some angry facmates, some gorgeous temporary fashion and many people who did not even recieve a reward at all.
So... yeah. Unless you have very wealthy friends/are very wealthy I suggest not going to the Phoenix Wedding chapel for your wedding, unless you're prepared to dish out a LOT of money.

Please accept our apologies if the experience was not what you expected and has left a sour taste in your mouth. Unfortunately this event is indeed designed for a more lucrative wedding. b:cry
The summoning tables are there so that participants can quickly reach the Contributions necessary to obtain the event's best prize. Otherwise, you're required to picking flowers to trudge to the end. Weddings are expensive ordeals indeed.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] "Life is short...Bury! Steady Sword!"0 -

I thought the instance itself was beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous, so kudos there! I just think it's ridiculous that, to get any kind of contribution, you have to pay (7.8m for the table) plus to actually summon something is another 7.8m. In the other chapel, I believe there is no required cost to summon the Jealous Ex the first time, or the flowers?
Sarrafeline, I was one of the lucky few to recieve a prize (not quite sure why). I think I came second out of everyone. The two flower quests each rewarded me with 250 contri each. Setting off fireworks or paying for extra decorations also rewarded about 35 contribution each. I ended up getting 5 hyper exp stones, which is much better than nothing at all. I'd think for the price of even getting 30k contribution (I think by the end, we had 16k ish, and we had summoned the mob twice) you should be rewarded with permanent Chinese wedding dresses. I think those are beautiful too, by the way If only they were perma...
Deceptistar, setting off fireworks or decorating the chapel each cost 88,888 coins and rewarded the person with 35 contribution. The 'tables' we had to summon to get contribution were 6-7m each, and to actually summon the mobs from the table was another 7.8m, which is more than ridiculous.
Hopefully this thread can serve as a guide to newlyweds considering there is no current one supplied by PWI... perhaps if there had been a guide I wouldn't have had to guess at what the ceremony would entail. I didn't have anything TO expect, but maybe something a bit fair[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Was the catering any good, at least ?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm not sure b:chuckle By the time we had figured out to summon the tables and killed both mobs, it was time to finish the ceremony. But the pork mob was funnily enough, a windwalking piggy I can only imagine what the chicken feast mob would have been... The tables themselves didn't look appetising at all though. They weren't even tables, looked like an updated version of the big cauldron things used to make gear near General Summer. Appetising![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

It's not the years that matter, it's the milage that has true meaning. Do not spend your life trying to walk a mile in someone else's shoes. Walk the best path you can, and enjoy that journey.

I LOVE the Wedding Gown here - will they ever make them available through the Special Nightly Bidding Auctions? (I bought my other gown this way).0 -
So it's basically the same working wedding but to get prices between guests it takes money? o_o
Gotta know that because I would really really like to go there with my spouse. Looks so pretty and my char is pretty much based on a phoenix so it would be a perfect memory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

There's no current plan for that, but I'll ask around.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] "Life is short...Bury! Steady Sword!"0 -

Sadly yes. A LOT of money. Had I known that before choosing the Phoenix Nest chapel, I certainly wouldn't have done it methinks. Genotypist, just curious, do you know what the prizes are for getting 30k, 60k, and 100k contribution? I assumed the 100k prize was the same - perma wedding fash but it seems from your post a permanent set isn't implemented yet.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I just attended a phoenix nest wedding and I am very confused. It has the same contribution requirements as the other but the quests give such little contribution. If you dig a bouquets you get like 10, 30 or 500 contribution per flower. In this instance you dig 9 flowers and get 10 contribution. You are constantly running back and forth form the npc getting and turning in quests and after 45 mins I now have a whopping 420 contribution. This seems very out of whack.. Surely the quests should give more contribution... The wedding closed down I was ranked 3rd. The rewards were 50 socket stones, 50 mysterious chips, and a squad signet...
I highly recommend not using this instance for a wedding. In true PWI fashion they have created something really great as in the instance is very pretty and the flowers more abundant but you lose the fun in fighting for bouquets. You will be lucky if you get 10k contribution and that's only if ppl pay for fireworks and summoning and the rewards just aren't worth it. Paying 100k for an invite was an investment when the rewards were 50-150 mirages. Its just another money pit designed to make you sink your coin and buy more gold to replace it..0 -
In the normal wedding you get 1 free ex and crashers. To summon the ex after is 5.8mill each. Depending on the amount of people you have there it can cost from 70+million for the perma fashion.
The Pheonix which I have done but majorly glitched on me a few months ago is about 7-8m each to summon the mobs for the contribution. I do agree that that fashion is gorgeous I would have loved to get the perma fashion for it. I do believe that they do have it in perma but I don't know many couples with it.0 -

So basically you can ask around to fix us not having something available through boutique, but not ask around or investigate a guide for the ceremony?0 -

Make sure to warn people if you do decide to summon a 7.8m table, so they don't accidently summon a 7.8m mob by accident. b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm pretty sure it's just called Wedding Robe/Dress. However, it's been awhile so it might be something different. b:chuckle[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Unfortunately, at the time I was unaware of the nature of the Phoenix Nest chapel, and assumed it would be similar to the regular chapel. I agree, they were ridiculous b:shocked[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I guess I'm the only person that noticed that this thread died on 01-14-2012? Are the mods okay with us dragging stuff out of the crypt now?
The thread that was necro'd last night got closed today. This one still remains open. My previous post wasn't me trying to say that the game was dead. I was referring to this thread.0 -
