This PWI christmas failed!

Actually it's not that easy. Staff for PW-US don't have permission to alter game content. CN reused these mobs for their new event. That event is probably coded for in this game, but they either don't want or don't know how to initiate it, or even knew if it existed. I find this more plausible.

Many (company)games are trying to take advantage of the Christmas , launching online web events or in real, bonus dvds,sale discounts, in game events but seems pwe succeeded in destroying it.I bet they lost some votes percents from the Community.
2012 wil come in force with alot (new) online games , will pwe(pwi) recover or might go down slowly more and more? ..we'll see.

In the previous years (this is not my first account) I always participated in every Christmas event no matter how low or high level my main char was at the time. And damn I enjoyed all of them. Last year was a little sickly but we still had snowmen and the free fashion was appreciated.

This Christmas I un-installed PWI.

this whole Christmas was a failure.

* no snowmen, after being promised at least two weeks of them (as compared to a month last year)

* another 'Christmas Event" that has mobs too high level for the majority of the players, only the high levels with rank gear could take on those guy for any lenght of time.

* 'Anniversary prizes' announced, but unavailable.

* Heavens Tear server locked up all day yesterday- no way to get on the game. it also just happened to be the last day of my son's vacation, and we had planned to play together/work on quests/shop with gold cards he had gotten for me as a present.


....thanks for nothing PWE. you managed to **** up and make this the worst Christmas here since you started. b:sad

In fact, every event since mid 2009 has been lame, pointless, broken, or just for the R9/Cashshoppers, with maybe a few exceptions, and even those were fail or otherwise not worth doing.

There used to be events for Chinese holidays as well as US holidays. I haven't seen any of those events since 2009.

Bottom line, give up on events in this game. They are dead, along with balance, and intelligent game design. >_>

yeah, having the Chinese events or holidays would be neat-im from southern California, and loved the multicultural ambiance i grew up with. and theres a nice Chinese New Years outfit i've seen listed on ecatomb for years, that i've been waiting for...not fancy, just nice and tailored. guess we'll never see it, since it doesnt show enough skin, or lokk like motorcycle gear...b:spit

No credit can be given to the devs here. They simply re-skinned an old event and threw it at us. It's far from something new, it's the same things we always get.

Also, Kritty, if your comment about private servers was directed at my observation, I'd like to note that I was simply observing the West Arch spam the past week or so. Since it started prior to their Christmas Break from the office, with no obvious attempt to thwart it, it seems PWE doesn't care too terribly much about people investigating the spam.

I mean, more than one person has told me in-game that if PWE considered the server being spammed a threat, they would have implemented something to reduce/eliminate the spam. Since they haven't, and it doesn't cost anything to investigate, they're going to look. I haven't seen a couple of them in PWI for a few days... b:surrender

Nothing to do with the viability of private servers, more like the viability of the PWE staff keeping people from leaving their flagship game. b:cry I pass no judgement on how viable these private servers may be, having not played on one.

How viable? Seeing as all of them had several Christmas events and continue to have events connected to bigger holidays and anniversaries not to mention constant GM activity in-game and moderated chat, I say the more legit question would be: How viable is PWI?

Better event idea:
Snowmen Killing Quests: Have a quest for killing snowmen (50, 100, 150, 200 of them), maybe make it timed and offer a "stocking" or "present" for turning them in as well as experience for completing it. actually your event idea sounds very much like the very first PWI Christmas event in 2008. There were Christmas trees and Santas in the major cities giving quests that had you kill specially-spawned snow beasts and of course, the snowmen. I don't remember it very clearly but I think "stocking" and "present" were in the names of the quest items. The snowmen also dropped Christmas Cards, which if you manage to collect the whole set, you'd get a Christmas Blessing tome, which was the first tome available in PWI, and everyone went crazy for them, especially since venos were such a popular, "OP" class back then. At a time when gold was about 100k-200k a piece, some rarer Christmas cards were selling for 200k and the tome was 1-2mil. You also got free snowball-launchers to shoot at the snowmen, and the animation was pretty neat to watch. Although I don't know why snowmen die when you shoot snowballs at them, wouldn't they gain HP instead of loos...oh nevermind. Good times, good times... too bad the codes for that event is now too old and incompatible with the current version of the game, according to the GMs T_T

Disappointed in the Holiday this year PWI - and I hope you take your players comments seriously.
This year was targeting the hard core money players - and sadly with kids in my house do not have any extra money at the holidays. No in game monies for us QQ
I couldn't find any info about the Christmas event - which I'm now glad I didn't bother with seeing the rewards - it's better to just do BHs and run some full Deltas for that stuff.
Please say the New Year's event will be better - more fun, better rewards, etc...but can't find any info on that either.
With the new year around the corner, many new expansions and games will be released and I'm afraid for the PWI community. Hard enough to get new peeps to play - hope to see you do more for your loyal gamers that stuck with you through everything - good and bad...and for many of us who play for fun (Yes, we do exist) some changes to everything but the boutique would be nice....ijs...

And next year - if there's no snowmen....lose the snowlag PLEASE!!! Plus, it's really just annoying b:surrender

I have been in PWI for about 3 years now, since the archo server opened PWI has been getting greedier and greedier, more and more "sales" high end rank gear unavailable to non cash players, I'm sad to say that Ill probably be uninstalling PWI in the new year if things dont improve dramaticly soon.
As for the "Christmas" events way to go PWI once again you forget you have european players on ALL servers not just the new european ones, not all of us can afford to move server just like that. Maybe if you allowed char migration from server to server, and YES it IS do-able, people wouldn't ***** quite so much, but well done PWI on a good game well and truly ****ED up.

I'd have been more inclined to participate in the christmas events (as would the rest of Harshlands,) if our local Cataloosers hadn't been camping literally every single gate. Even the ones where the level 30's attempted to get past mega cashshopped R9 archers spamming barrage.

Please enlighten me how that's far AT ALL.

I took part in the event even though I play on Lost City. These are the effects of choosing the current server you are on.

I remember back on HT server, people would drag Bosses to disrupt Events. b:chuckle
