When does 2x finally end?

Can we get a clerification on when 2x actually ends. Some say the 31st, some say the 2nd, 3rd. Can a GM clarify this please? I have checked on the update page and facebook page and I am not finding anything. Thankyou

    It's permanent, because the day they switch it off, player activity will drop by 93.5%, the remaining 6.5% being kitty shop alts checking the AH for gold rates every few hours.

    only thing i see is end of year but does that mean dec 31st or jan 3rd from what everyone is saying? thats why i asked for clerification
