How is agro calculated ?

If this information is publically available i would like to know how the game calculates the agro you create on a monster.

Is it a set number per attack, or does it matter how much damage that attack do ? (ie, do create the same agro when i cast gush for 2000 damage with a weak wizzard as when it is cast by a stronger wizzard for 4000 damage ?)

Does it maybe depend on character level also ?

Besides the special agro attacks like flesh realm, is there a big difference between the agro created by the other attacks ?

Does it decay over time, or only add up ?

Any other info you have on this subject ?

And preferably if it is known i would of course like the formulas to calculate the exact numbers :)

Thank you

Im not sure of the answers to all of the questions, but here's what I do have:

Agro seems to depend mostly on the damage dealt. Without any agro skills used, mobs will always attack the person doing the most damage. With agro skills, it depends on the difference of the damage between the the attackers.

Agro attacks like flesh ream generate a good chunk of agro, so they should be able to keep the mob away from other attackers unless there are other things added in like aps, sparks, debuffs, etc.

No, agro does not decay over time. A flesh reamed mob will go toward the tank and keep going toward the tank until something else interferes. A cleric healing a tank could eventually get agro if it was just the one flesh ream and then they spam healed, but other than that someone else will have to attack the mob to pull him off.

    Thanx for the info.

So damage is the main thing for agro. So what is the concensus to be best for tank barbs ? sage or demon ?

I do not care about killing things. Just about being the best possible tank. Demon so that i do more damage and thus more succesfully hold agro ? or sage so that i am even harder to kill.

(I suppose it is not a question that tank barbs should focus on true form)

From 0~90/100, barbs can hold agro, if everyone behaves. At 90~100+, especially 100+, depending on most bosses, barbs are not tanking. Even when i do things with friends on my bm with average gear, while the barbs are OP barb or tank barbs, i still take agro and keep it b:cry. I blame aps and people using hf when i spark.
