R8 wep Vs Nirvy wep for pve/tw?

Hello,
I've been reading countless posts of rank gear and nirvana. And on what's best, recasts or nirvana and rerolling. And all of the choices. And I've yet to come to decision on whats best for end game channeling veno. I was thinking an R8 + 99sleeves and nirvy wep for channelling. But i can't decide on what would be good for pve/tw. I hear p def is huge in tw, which makes me want to go r8 wep and recast for channeling. But Nirvy glaive has channeling based plus good stats. Any ideas on which weapon would be more prefered? Chances are thisll be my end game weapon as well. I dont play enough to get r9 or reroll nirvy 100times for max stats. I do already have r8 rep. But i still want a good weapon i can use.     Well it depends on your play style. I personally use R8 Wep, the top and legs, since for me channeling isn't that big priority as p.def. Since in TWs def and hp help me to survive way longer than if I would use wep and stuff to get more channeling. b:surrender
    And since you got already the Reputation I would use R8 weapon and maybe recast it, if you really want to try your luck on stats. b:thanks

    If you already got the rep for r8 on your veno... I wouldn't even think about getting nirvana... Or maybe , nirvana can get some nice stats but... Really...
    Here is my reason.

    You already got all rep so weapon wont cost you much to buy, and the r8 weapon is already 2 socket.
    Nirvana will cost you 250 raps for 2nd caste and thats a quite nice amount of money + 7 raps for each reroll. Do you wanna risk for maybe many rerolls for getting -6% or -10% on weapon? And your weapon will prob be 1soc if you not damn lucky. Making a 2soc is also a quite nice amount of money.

    Just compare r8 weapons with 2nd caste nirvana weapons. Here are patakas with 0+ refined:

    R8 Pataka (G14)
    Magical attack 943-1750

    Nirvana 2nd cast Pataka (G15)
    Magical attack 930-1727

    R8 got a bit lower refine rate than the 2nd caste weapon tho.
    Of course you would prob choose the glaive (or wand if you like that?) for channelling and stats instead of vana pataka, but again, it was just for compare.

    Well i'm just thinking... Why farm so high amount of raps/coins, when you can get a more or less as good weapon for SO MUCH cheaper price? You already have the rep!

    Think about it. Is it worth spend so much time for getting that little bit more channelling?
    Rather use that time on actually work for r9 or r8 recast, which both have a high cost to make, r9 with nice attack lvls and r8 with some very nice special stats.

    IF you go nirvana, i would advise you to make a lunar weapon then. If you ever regret it you are able to sell it again. Maybe not for the price you paid, but at least all money wont be lost.
    Don't be like me that actually made TT nirvana weapon (i like the looks of it more than lunar). I'm almost sure i'll regret it later on... But right now i'm happy for it - and i dont have r8 on my veno cause i'm actually HA lol.

    R8 pataka is good enought for tw and pve game.

    If you want a vana weapon for the -10%channeling addon you will need 250 raptures +7 each time you want to refresh stats until get it.

    If you still want a high channeling weapon you can always go for the lv90 ☆☆Beamhoof Slicer I know some badges are expensive but it gonna be more cheap than the vana option and it's -10%chan guaranteed.

    Would Stone of the Savant (3% channeling each) on R8-R9 pataka solve the problem or it doesnt worth it ??? (provided u get high refine to cover the Sapphire shard dmg loss)

    Good weapon, but get it before lvl 100. Its perfect for 90-99. Not a endgame weapon and not tradeable. Of course if only going for channelling and dont really care about high magic attack this would prob be the best opportunity

    Yup I know the disadvantages from this weapon, but if she wants a channeling set combined with a good TW-PvE one, Beamhoof is the most cheap-faster option vs a vana weapon gambled for -10%channeling. With savant stone x2 it will go for -16%channeling, pretty good addon even lower magical attack than a vana wep.

    However like Phoenix posted adding 2x Savant stones at R8 Pataka will give you -6% channeling and you don't have to beat your head up with another channeling weapon and also saving coins and time
