    why don't you just make it free now that i paid out my *** to get r9.... you guys are greedy jerks. might as well just wait til you make 2x permanent and ascending gear goes on 'sale'
    wondering why i spent money on this game.

      Who honestly didn't see it coming?

      After PWi placed +11/12 orbs in the boutique, you can assume that PW will put any item in at discounted prices.


      Don't feel special that you had something and then find out it is being sold cheaper, happens all the time in rl.

      By spring break, I expect a 50% off sale for rank gear.

      Yeah new gear will make older stuff obsolete and pretty cheap.Happens in all games.

      before rank8 was on sale, getting it via tokens was about 600 milions = 600$
      when it went on sale it was 75 gold.

      now rank9 is ..... (fill up , i have no idea).
      soon will go on sale for a fraction of that price.
      then rank10 or something better will come out.

      right now pwi lets the cash shoppers enjoy their rank gear and advantages that are coming with it. In a few months time r9 will be on such a sale that almost everyone with decent cash will be able to afford it. Then they will make another blowout refine sale. Right when ppl will start to catch up on gear with the big spenders, PWI will introduce a crazy expensive next level of gear, because they cannot ignore the greed for absolut power of the big spenders.

      That's called life. It happens with everyyyy tech product under the sun. New shift comes out, the price falls. Standard Definition Televisions? Betamax? VCRs? Are you even old enough to know what a cassette player is and how cool and expensive it used to be? Playstation 1, playstation 2, super nintendo. Heck, when I was younger pluto was a planet! But now we got better telescopes and know better. New farmable gear is about to come, depending on its popularity, expect nirvana gear and rank gear to fall even cheaper in price. That's the way its supposed to work. Thats they way markets work in real life. You paid for the privilege of getting it before others. It wasn't going to last forever IRL, and it won't last forever here in game either. Want to know the difference between the game of year edition version of oblivion I got for 20 bucks after it had fallen in value, and the people who paid 60 bucks for their version brand new? I got the expansion packs for free, but I had to wait a lot longer.

      This Super General Sale doesn't make the cost of owning Rank9 gear any more cheaper than it had in the past. There is no need for anyone who had already obtained a full set of rank 9 (before this black Friday sale that had increased gold prices) to be envious.

      Current gold price on Sanctuary is 1.9 mil
      With this sale the cost for the rank items are:

      54.4 mil for every 100k rep (2x for rank 8, 3x for rank9)
      341 mil for belt or ring
      813.8 mil for weapon
      170.5 mil for each armor piece

      Full set cost 2.17 billion (Still above the price people had obtained full r9 before this super sale)

      Here is the spread sheet calculation cost for the Super sale


      Even if this sale was to continue on without end, and gold falls back to about 1.26 mil like it was before the Black Friday sale with all those packs. The cost of rank 9 and rep would be average and not as cheap as everyone here thinks it is.

      A full rank 9 set would cost 1.44 billion

      Spread sheet with modified gold price of 1.26 mil each

      I remember when the general sale was reduced from its original cost, the 2nd time it was in the boutique, gold was around 800k average. A Piece of rank 9 armor piece only cost about 45 mil, which was about 50% less than a piece of nirvana gear at that time. This super sale does not make it any cheaper than that time because of the current gold cost - and perhaps never will be.

      You need the ring before you can get the weapon, so these two items combined is 1.15 billion (at the bottom of the spread sheet), which is about 608 gold if gold is at 1.9 mil each as it currently stands. But yes, the weapon is about 430 gold if you had already gotten the ring.

      Personally I have never spent a dime on this game since I prefer to farm my gear. Besides that though my statement was meant for f2p and csers because pwe likes to stick it to both.

      Sorry for the late reply grinding dq. As for a rebuttal to your last statemtent I would have to say that would be up to the player themselves. I myself choose to play purely for self enjoyment not caring about pvp or what other players gear looks like. So pwe can throw all the sales they want at the game and it wont change my enjoyment of the game. Of course this differs from player to player so as I said the choice to play or not to play is up to the individual.

      unfortunately, you can't handle the truth, lol. Well, you can't see the actual issue, but yeah, I always wanted to say that, lol.

      the discussion was around how easy it is to get those medals for basically free (=no income for PWI). Given the potential for income generation the sale of r9 had, of course the "devs" wanted to take those out of DQ shop. I don't understand why some people are confused by this. PWI wants to make money, PWE wants to make money. Giving medals for free (dq) to players ment there was no money going in their pockets.
      Another Hint: PWE doens't care how PWI is run as long as it generates profit. They don't care about sales, servers or anything else (player complains/suggestions) that comes from this side of the pond. Really, they don't. They only care about the chinese version that's pretty much over-populated. They don't do any kind of tweaks or modifications to fit the PWI economy (look at guild base wep cost, look at warsoul wep cost over r9 and the examples could go on) because they really don't care about it. The generated income would not justify the effort.
      PWI staff however are trying to milk the cow as much as they can. Rank sale, pack sale, your momma sale, my momma sale, their momma sale, anything to make some cash flow towards PWE, because that's what keeps them alive.As soon as that cash flow stops, they're out of business the next day.
