Skill Combinations

Hiya there, completely newbie wizard here. Okay well maybe not COMPLETELY new...I've just never played a wizzy before. So the Guide and my faction's wizzies are really the only thing I've got to learn from.

I was just wondering about some nice early level skill combos that helped you veterans get through these tough few levels. I've heard they're kinda hard on us, and I'm so used to playing a cleric that I don't know how often I'll end up killing myself by not having wellspring in my skill list.

I plan on going full mag build and wearing the best hand-me-down AA armor from my cleric and veno for a while.

So, any good skill combos I could macro together early on?

    Yeah.
You're gonna wanna undine about 10-12 times (its a 79 skill btw)
Cuz once u stack up they have no mag resis, then u can crown of flame or smth, and the DoT will kill them.
At your level, I'd say Gush them so they can't run, then use the normal attack button and your sword will kill them.
If you want, you can go Dex build so that u don't miss 100%

Wow, what a great troll! b:victory I was expecting at least a couple!

Sadly, I'm not that dumb and I've been playing the game since '08, so I'll save the swordplay for when I have to try and tackle KunKun. b:surrender

Whilst some wizzys cringe at the macro attack. When mob grinding and doing quests it's by far the easiest method.

    Personally I have 2 macros :

    1) Fire/Water - Divine Pyro, Gush, Crown of Flames, Gush, Pyro, Gush ..... rinse and repeat
    2) Earth/Water - Sandstorm, Gush, Pitfall, Gush, Pyo, Gush .. rinse & repeat

The reason for so many gushes is you want to slow the target as much as possible kill him before he gets hit on you.

Also don't forget your Stone Barrier the only times you should not be wearing it is when your fighting magic fire or water mobs or bosses. Stone Barrier will help save your wizzy butt if they get a hit on you. Also don't forget your will of the pheonix (when you can get it) so you can push the mobs to re macro them) while your low level just run to get distance on what your fighting.

b:question Should crown of flames and pitfall be in there? Only time I use pitfall in PvE is when the mob is almost dead and I don't wanna waste anymore mana.

It's there as a quick cast and for some damage over time

If I remember correctly, crown and pitfall have the same cast time as gush and the dot is practically negligible considering the other attacks you can throw in there.

Make sure u undine stack tho, so the DoT actually hits.
It actually does have a lot of magic dmg when they have no defences.

Oh, you're right. Stack undine 10-12 times to wipe their mag defense.

actually the damage done by pitfall is high . . . we just don't realize it as it is a DoT.
and it also slows down the mob . . although not by very much.
