1) I believe you can use arrow keys. But you'll need to go into the UI setting to change it. However, I recommend you try and get used to the mouse because it is best to use your left hand to click on hotkeys for skills.

2) West Archosaur has the most merchants/catshops - I presume you mean player merchants. You will need to go there at level 20 for your quests, although you can get there at a lower level with a flyer or if you are very careful, by running there.

3) You can't buy Gold from other players with coins, but you can do it at any Auctioneer NPC. However, the current exchange rate is around 2 million coin for one Gold so as a newbie it will be almost impossible to buy Gold without spending real money. Some players advertise buying Gold, what they mean is they will give someone coin in exchange for specific items in the cash shop.

4) There are potions and player made apothecary items that will give you boosts in various stats such as defense or HP regen but none I think any actually boost the main Vit, Mag, Dex, Str stats directly. You can get permanent stat boosts from armor, weapons and ornaments that have +stats.

For low levels the most useful Apoth is Lifepowder which gives you 50HP regen per second for 10 minutes and can be used at lvl 10. It is player made.

Look for a faction/guild that caters to newbies. You may have to wander around asking for a while or invest in a few Telecoustics to make a world chat request. Most of the players even the ones starting new chars tend to be veteran players so they are focused on leveling up as fast as possible. However, there are new players around so keep looking and you'll find them.
