The uselessness of a few skills

Since the moment I reached the required levels to get Frostblade and Distance Shrink skills I keep wondering what are the advantages of these few skills.
Frostblade doesn't change anything - doesn't increase my attack the way cleric's buff for increased magic attack does. Its description says it should increase attacks but it doesn't. Before and after buffing myself with Frostblade my M.Attk and P.Attk both remain unchanged. For this skill I can see only disadvantage which is to waste spirit and coins on it.
Distance Shrink is that much useless as Frostblade because character doesn't move faster with it, not to mention that it wastes the so priceless Chi.
Another useless skill whose purpose I still can't understand (other than wasting coins and spirit on it) is that thing which restores 10% of one's mana bar. I forgot its name. Before I get to the level and awareness for buying it, I was looking forward to get it. But when I read it requires 2 sparks to recover only 10% of my mana bar (which means the miserable ~800 mana points), I regreted I was waiting for it.
And there's one more skill which would be very useful if it didn't suck out 60% of one's health points. I forgot this skill's name too - after all I don't use it (yet). I'm talking about the skill that sucks 60% of hp, causing a bomb-like explosion on surrounding enemies. Why the devs would think someone would risk dying in the matter of seconds after using this skill, losing 60% of his own hp and also taking the damage from all affected mobs when they realize who attacked them?
Do you use these skills and for what? As for me, I can't see any advantage of having them.
The purpose of this topic is that I find out what are the advantages of these skills and decide should I waste coins and spirit on them. I'm getting closer and closer to the point I'll have almost all available skills at lv 10 and that makes me dream about new skills.

Do I really have to explain the use of instantly putting 25 meters between you and your enemy. Hint: You are a ranged fighter.
And that two spark skill that mainly recovers 10% of your maximum mp has the useful sideeffect of removing the channeling time of all your skills for the next 6 seconds. Maybe you forgot that detail..."Of course you should fight fire with fire. You should fight everything with fire."

Frostblade- when a melee class is buffed with this, it will be able to deal damage (in pvp) through expel or psy. will, letting skills with control effects hit (and produced effect). for us, it gives us a blue hand, which is ofc more than enough reason to lvl it x]
Distance Shrink- pvp kiting skill. combined with sage culti and correct genie build = uncatchable wiz for every class except sins.
Essential Sutra (10% mana thing)- cast a whole lotta spells in a few seconds, nice in pvp.
Emberstorm (60% hp thing)- insta-cast aoe to hit sins out of stealth (double click on nearby target), or fast aoe stun if demon culti
^ pretty much what i can think up of, other ppl use skills for other stuff besides what i listed too... those are pvp based uses so i guess it wont help too much unless you pvp a lot.0 -

i dunno i can only speak for sage... ofc now that you have tried both culties i guess you would know. one thing is demon wiz can actually catch someone... or so i heard? b:surrender
edit: i was 1v1 a demon wiz and i used nv/r8 to even the terms of battle. after a really long fight i finally won... and i think it was cuz he ran out of chi to blink away0 -

I can one shot people with pitfall......bewareSins are Scissors. Psychics are Rocks.
Archers, Venos, Barbs, Wizards, BMs, Mystics, Seekers are Paper.
...and Clerics are Mushrooms.
Paper beats Rock. Scissors beats Paper. Scissors also happens to beat Rock...until Rock gets 50k+ soulforce at which point Rock becomes an unstoppable killing machine that beats Paper... and would beat Scissors but it can't find Scissors, because Scissors are invisible.
So Scissors beat Paper and avoids Rock, and that is called BALANCE. -cheze0 -

Only 25 meters? That's all? I have Holy Path which works almost 4 seconds and I can easily put much more than 25 meters between me and my target if I wanted to.0 -

I concur, fail troll is fail >.<
It's easier to rebuild chi than genie energy/stamina (whichever is the yellow bar, I forget). Also, using hp will put you out of range of your opponent unless you want to only use half its time or so, which is even more wasteful.
Also in 1v1 pvp, anyway, you don't need that much chi, only enough to do soporific whisper if you need to. You're not (hopefully) gonna be dropping BIDS for 1 target.
HP is used for super-kiting....
Hp-->S-button-->Essential Sutra-->Home Teleport. HERPADERP
...and making sure the rest of the squad doesn't kill before before you get there because you're slow.[sigpic] [/sigpic]0 -
Rofl Yeah Holy path... about that.
Once you start pking at the high levels, Holy path is the last resort.
You wanna save genie for Badge/Fort/Spark/SoF/Remove Par0
