Best squad you've ever been in

So, there's always that thread hanging around of 'worst squad ever', lets make a thread for 'best squad'. Let's limit this to PUG's too, so it's not just faction humping (though a little is okay I guess).

I'll start off with an FCC run I did on my BM. It was a barbless run, 2 BM's, 2 sins, Psy, and Cleric. Everyone had good gear, but nothing ridiculous (I had a warsoul helm, 2 sockets, +3, that was about the best piece of gear there I think). Squad level range was 77-86, cleric was 77, psy was 86.

Normally, low level FCC's like this take a little time, typically 2-3 hours for a half run, and a few people die, including a few squad wipes. Well, this one was a little different, I think there was two deaths, and the entire half run only took 45 minutes. Each BM picked a Sin and HFed right after they sparked, making the bosses go fast, and we stunlocked the mobs on the pulls with Roar and the Psy's AOE stun.

I was quite impressed with that squad. Everyone did something that I'd never really seen an entire squad do before: Payed attention to everyone else. b:pleased

FCC is a joke instance, any level 80 (or higher with normal gears, not blanks) decent gamer can beat that.

As for rebirth alpha as a werebeast, a squad with a LVL54 werefox, wizard, warrior level 55 cleric and warrior.

I tanked the waves and kept aggro from 13+ mobs, go up in the frontlines, spam surf impact and frighten until like 15 mobs come to me, used roar, go to the waves and position them in front, spam surf impact and frighten and flesh ream on each monster. While the BMs, use their drakes sweep, fan of the flames, fissure, highlands cleave, and take turns using roar of the pride (AOE stun chain). The wizard using hailstorm while I am using pulling, then when i get the group, the wizard does dragon's breath. Werefox using her glacial walker on the the mobs that i lose aggro on, noxious gas, and passing sparks to whoever needs. We went all the way past 6th boss, until we took out everything, we had napolong left, but we had to stop afterwards. Could have finished that run, but that was the best run I ever had in a lifetime. I have a screen shot of mossy I will show later.

I could share some other great experiences in squads, I even have screen shots for some of them as proof.

Best squad can also be taken a lot of different ways. It may not mean always getting the instance done really quick, but just having super nice people do it with you and it was actually FUN. Way back I used to have a squad I did everything with cause they were just so fun and worked so well together. Even when someone died everyone just laughed, rezzed whoever died and we tried again. It wasn't some huge blaming fest of "so-and-so didn't heal me" or "so-and-so was stupid and grabbed aggro".

So my best squad? Some of you people may have heard of them on dreamweaver.

We just did instances for fun and enjoyed it. It was before FC became an exp factory. We didn't necessarily get everything done really fast, but we worked really well together and had a good time. Especially when we finished a bh, and kris would run into a huge group of mobs and die epically only to port to town, instead of just doing town portal. That was before everyone cared so much about getting to 100 to get R9.

Now of course the only squad I need is me and my friend ViciousMinx and each of us have two clients open. We can normally get an instance done pretty quick and easy, but it just isn't the same as having a full squad of different people.

Best squad would have to be a rb gamma. I think squad set up was something like cleric bm barb wiz archer and me as a psyhic. The reason this rb stands out so much to me is because on the bramble wave the bm and barb managed to survive. First an only time i have experienced this in gamma and i hae run alot of them.

Most of the good squads are with people you know. They actually listen, and sometimes they give good directions too. Some strangers as well.

I geared for Alpha. Nobody wanted to do it. I geared for Beta. Nobody wanted to do it. I geared for Gamma. I haven't done one yet. So... Maybe for people who had the time to play enough in 2008 to actually DO Alpha and in 2009 to do Beta and gamma, it was fun. But good luck finding one now.

I did my FB19 with 5 Venos level 19 and a level 20 cleric. At that time, the highest level person on the server was level 42, and they were worried about figuring out what the half-translated quest dialogue meant, instead of helping someone with an FB19.

I learned more about my Veno from that FB19 than I did from just about anything after that up until I put my veno to rest.

we were lv 80-90s

8hrs to half way point. we got tired and napped after that and the instance spit us out =(

it was awesome cause we really worked at it and pple stayed. Was like a hardcore dungeon lol

Funniest **** out there. The seeker ran through the cave, and died at the end to clear the cave.

We would follow him as he leroy'd through and when he died the mobs would run back to their original position. Then we would rez the seeker and kill the bosses.

Probably the fastest FB59 I've done with people in the 70-80 lvl range.

Shortly after TB/Nirvana came out, I did two back to back FB99's with Zerhee and NyKage... all bosses in both instances done in a little less than an hour. That was pretty cool for back then. I've been in a lot of pro parties. The only fail parties were ususally GV-Culti's, and that was mostly due to horrible players needing a past map or 3rd fairy cultis all grouped together not knowing how to rebirth. Trying to teach more than 3 people in a party how to Delta in a single run was mostly pure frustration. lol

The barb we had left before the FB began and never came back, so we ran it anyway. We all (besides cleric) tanked some. It was fun.b:victory

I've been in some very good squads when I was in Valhalla and AfterLife. They sync very well together, and good runs. AfterLife had some amazing Lunar runs and Valhalla - loved that new guild run we all did - it was WOW....

In Zulu they ran some crazy SOT.... I say run because they RANNNNNN through the instance steamrolling every mob (not wined). I really have no idea how they kept from falling.... it was a BLAST.... (did this in FC too)... Kill a boss just as you finally caught up and zipppp-zoooommmmm >> on to next boss. I was the little Sin there for BP and to assist

One person that is fairly rigid during his runs is Josh (JoshXT). Now he demands perfection but - his runs are focused, smooth, fast & methodical. Probably one of my most favorite people to farm with. He also finds a way to kill just about ... anything/everything...

I would have to say my best squad was the one that took me to gv delta for the first time.
I was low 9x at the time, and we had a few 100s, so it wasn't as hardcore as 8x gv delta, but it was the first time for half the squad.

Everything was going fine until wave 5 or 6. Our bm's quest list was full, so to add another aura, he trashed all the other aura quests causing us to lose all the auras. So we went auraless for the wave and by wave 9 we only had a few of them at a low level. Yet we managed to not die and finish it.

Today, i got in an 80-90 squad for boss, mobs & heads. Consisted of me, barb, cleric, seeker and an archer. We were all inbetween 80-83 minus the cleric, and we made a full pull on the mobs with no deaths

We kept dying, but made it XD it was epically funny without people screaming and yelling once you make a mistake or cause yet another squadwipe.

So yeh.. best squads? The ones with friends b:cute No matter what you do, you can laugh about it.

Nothing better than keeping cool and being around friends. That's my best squad memories. Crazy PV runs with just a sin, seeker and psy. Or the oldschool bh runs. Eden/Brim unwined. The old crew

The funniest squad I was in was on Momaganom (?spelling). It was very early on the server and we were all just trying to get our stuff done. I was in lost with my lvl 17 cleric for some quest and a barb asked me to help him do his fb. I said sure cause what else did I have to do but go back to plume and kill mobs. He added me to a squad of 5 barbs! (All of them had a tab!) I have to say I have never seen that before or since. We ran the whole dungeon with them in tiger form and two or three or sometimes all of them would attack the same mob! It was the funniest thing to watch. I was laughing so hard I thought I was gonna pee my pants! Anyways.. not an "epic" run or anything.. but nevertheless hilarious.b:chuckle

Most epic amusing run I ever did me @ lvl 70 ish long ago a lvl90 bm a lvl40 cleric a lvl 60 ish veno. We were doing FB39 for my uncle Supernova for he's a battle cleric through and through but a great guy. The bm lets call him Bill for anomity and the veno's I_Love_Pets(me) and GreenCricket(My mum).

We start the dungeon in FB39 were doing fine just me and jane. We carefully are pulling are clearing for our battle cleric bob and he has not died yet. We warn him as we get to farren that farren has an aoe so we have Bob stand back which hes fine with doing. He loves killing stuff we just told him to wait till we had enough aggro so he wouldnt get it. After about 2minutes of killing we killed Farren no problems. As we get around to the next section we carefully pull one mob at a time to prevent killing our battle cleric who keeps getting hit by aoe. So we slowly stop killing and tell him to back up so he can see the "aoe ring" when they blow up. He was like "Oh thats whats hitting me." After he saw that he was more careful where he stood. Supenova didnt get supernova'ed after that and we made it to Calcid. After killing it I was pm'ed by Bill he asked what I was doing my reply was just my uncles FB39. He was like mind if I join for exp/sp and rep? I said sure join us but most everything is dead already. So we proceeded to clear to Trioc and have killed everything before bill gets there. Mind you I tell Bill okay bill a few things I can not hold aggro off you if you decide to go balistic. So DO NOT Heaven's Flame. Do Not Demon Spark and DO not hit to much at once. Now we start off pretty good not anything wrong. About 20 seconds into my pet tanking I see Bill leap into the air and Heaven's Flame and proceed to hit me mob with his axes. My comment is Bill stop hitting the boss your going to get aggro. Bill's reply was "initiate Demon spark and continue hitting the boss."The boss stops hitting my pet slowly turns as if its the exorcist's head and zaps Bill for a quarter of his hp mind you Bill stops hitting the boss and goes O'sht he turns around and leaps off the plantform. My comment is Bill do not run out of the room run him around it or I cant save you *zap* (half hp) -Bill Panics- and runs around the corner and heads towards the hall *zap* 25% hp left -Bill stops and uses his hp regen skill- *zap 10%* bill zips off down the hall and me and GreenCricket think now where does he think he is going? Trioc trotts along slow an steady with his pot belly looking like a plumber with his plunger in his hand with Bill speeding away out of sight like a skinny white boy running for it. My next comment is What EVER YOU DO DO NOT RUN BACK UP THE HALL WAY run him around the room ahead of you! GreenCricket and I are running back to save the afraid bm as fast as we can. Then all of a sudden I see something running fast as hell towards me up the hall and see the windup and pitch and Bill falls dead at my feet as I plaster the boss with a hit an it die. Mind you the boss had like 4-8K hp left only had he hit it he likely could have survived. Then from the depths of death I hear: guys can I ask a favor of you? We mind you are totally giggling currently. We said sure what is it.
Bill and from the depths of death said: can you help me
we said: with?
Bill: I need to kill some mobs.
This was my most amusing run I think ever.

My first tt. it waas 1-1, everyone that went was like lvl 60 or 61 max, no one knew the instance or had ever done tt at all.

we had a barb, 2bms, an archer, a cleric and veno. we squad wiped on every boss lol
that was 41 lvls ago for me (lvled the old way no fcc /oracle baby here). those samy players i did that tt with are still on my fl and we still do instances together often.

i've squadded with many good players from worst gear in game to full r9 +12 but the best squads i have ever been in were the ones that didn't rush through what we had to do and didn't whine like two year olds if we wiped.

can't say i miss the length of time it took to complete tt back in the day, but those 4 hour tt runs were fun

When I was level.. 86ish I saw a wc asking for a DD and an EP for an 8x frost run than was already up to the fifth boss. I guess this should have raised alarm bells, but I was bored and wanted to level. I port into the instance and it's just me, a BM, an sin and a mystic. The sin and the BM are outside trying to advertise for a cleric, and the mystic is standing in the corridor before Runewolf, unable to get past the mobs. Everyone begins to mope and say they should just quit and start over. I think to myself 'Hell no, this can work!' and summon my herc. With the mystic backing me up, we clear group by group until Runewolf where the BM comes and joins us. After killing Runewolf succesfully with no deaths and only three people we begin to clear the rest of the mobs. We make it to bigroom and kill Oceana succesfully... we all decide '**** it', the sin ports back in and we, a veno, mystic, BM and sin clear bigroom b:victory I added that mystic and she has now become one of my best friends in this game (we tried duoing frost once when we were both 9x and got to Dreadlindra before failing
