Anyone want to make a caster vana guide?

So... I heard some things about caster vana that I wanted to try out so 4 friends and I got our Talismans from BH and hopped in.

The squad makeup was a Rank 9 cleric, a veno, someones alt cleric they never play, my cleric, my bm, and another bm. I know from experience my 5 aps barb can keep aggro off physical immune bosses using DBB (+100% weapon damage) and triple spark, but has a 30 second cooldown, where I use stream strike (a sad little aggro skill). I also asked the other BM to get a pair of level 1 axes and put a magic shard in them so we could cast HF, assuming that the bosses amped. I was thinking along the lines of how stuns will go through expel only if they are attached to magic damage.

Cleric was on chromatic heal, elemental seal, cyclone, weild thunder macro and it worked pretty well. I'd swap clients and keep DBB up. The cleric that was someones alt stacked the R9 cleric with IH, supplemental healed, and dd'd. The R9 cleric tanked.

Anyways, it was a learning experience. We probably went faster than most squads, despite only having 4 caster. We didn't die too much, but enough to make us laugh. Definitely made us appreciate aps characters more. I think thats why caster vana was invented, to make casters stop wining about aps and go "oh... this kind of sucks without them". Even though caster vana dropped about 3 times more chests it was still much less efficient, lol.

Made me realize how little I know about caster vana. Any "experts" want to make a guide?

i dont think a guide is needed. There is nothing tricky happening that you cant figure out in 10sec in that run. And that whole run takes less than 10min flat.

I agree. i mean if you cant figure out what to do at lvl 100 on what to do then there's something really wrong with you as a cleric or any class lol. it should be easy to adapt if you've played your class well as low lvl. unless u plvl to 100?

The run wasn't difficult to just power through, but I kept going "that's not what they normally do" and being surprised. Llike the mobs that pop up 4 at a time and do 4k hits on the third boss, don't lose aggro on their target, and appear randomly. Or when the 4th boss thats normally the 2x boss was a runner boss in caster vana, but tankable.

Was just looking for more info on the bosses. Instead I get clerics responding that don't want to learn more about the bosses or see other peoples techniques. b:surrender

good caster nirvana squad does a run in 10 -15 mins, with ~ triple drops from normal nirvana during this 2x event

It's not embarassing to want to get things down to perfection. Like I said, a 4 person caster vana wasn't difficult, I just would prefer to know more about it. What is embarassing is being a cleric that factionmates whisper each other warnings about avoiding.

I was talking about you tutoring people when you have the reputation of being such a poor cleric that your factionmates warn each other to avoid you. It's rather insulting being called a noob by a level 103 that hasn't learned how to play their class. And I know you long ago retired your cleric to buffhoar status but still use it to hop onto cleric forums and troll, criticize and hijack threads aimed at being helpful. Byebye.

i rly dont regret not having lvled any aps chara's rly love the caster vana i usually run it with
3 r9 clerics ,a veno and wizz which is a lot of fun specially with friends and yeah runs are about 10-20mins the good ones, with bad ones its a bit 30min ish but if the drops are good doesn't rly matter to me still fun and lol a guide wouldn't be bad i mean there are always newer clerics who might like reading it

Was in Amplified with you. Mostly you played your alt, BuddhasRage, which you were decent enough at but a few times when I asked if anyone wanted to come on runs in faction chat and you said "lemme get my cleric" I would get "NOOOOOooooo" pms from the rest of the squad. Although I will admit, you have nice gear.

You were in for a whopping 3 or so months yeh. Off and on that we needed to put you in a leftover tw group

Had to do alot of scolding back then as officer so a good handful of pple didnt like me, i was like the biatching warden for 2+ years. "Do you want me to tell them?" was something i often asked my own officers b:chuckle

srsly i wouldnt want a prison warden in my squad either rofl

Five months, actually. And I was put on cata defense squad because I delta'd alot with a few of the officers and they new my abilities... Anyways, you were mostly inactive except it seemed to scalp WBs and alt FCCs from faction chat. I actually thought you'd quit playin PWI by then.

If you're keeping track, so far you've tried to deter people from giving advice on caster vanas, thread hijacked, insulted me by calling me a nub for asking advice even though my run went smoothly, said I didn't know you or run with you, said I did know you but I was inactive, and tried to cover all these actions with further fail responses. Thanks for getting us back on track, Venus. I also would be curious on reading up on these bosses and any techniques (where to stand? which attacks are phys/magical? Squad dynamics). So lets hear it from the experienced clerics.

I also have not run caster nirvana yet, and would like more knowledge on that subject as well. I've run regular nirvana before, but getting more knowledge on caster nirvana as well would really prove useful. Bosses in regular nirvana have tricks needed to defeat them. Even if the ones in caster don't, I'd really like NOT to be surprised in finding out that a certain boss has an AOE, or that one requires purify, or that this boss hits for 4 or 5k randomly. I don't have the best gear in the world, and part of my survival has been learning about runs before I do them, and planning for them accordingly, so if anyone is willing to help shed some more light on this subject, its location, its bosses, its mobs if any, or more detail as far as a guide is concerned, I'd really appreciate ie, as would others who are looking for more information about it. b:thanks

Heres a bag of sugar.
sprinkle as u see fit, here goes

- theres only 3 pple remotely incharge of making squads b:sweat. 2 if u exclude me, non who delta-ed with you. Truth is we lacked BMs, nothing more.
- amp delta is spawn point, not much skill needed there since most of the time its manned by R9s who take your load off.
- I am the top 1-2 donator of that faction, only reason jump in WB was cause i was constantly badgered to help. Not surprising cause I created amps WB runs.
- I rarely did random FCCs so dunno where u got that from...
- I never insulted you in my first post. I merely stated that its easy enough that a guide isnt needed. Read your response to my first post and guess who made the first pick at someone.
- you should stop making it a habit it to call whatever u dont like to hear, 'trolling' b:sweat thats what forums nubs repeat when their having silent tantrums of epic proportions.
Fact is i was more involved with the faction then you ever were so of course all your assumptions will be corrected by me. You can deny and call it fail responses all you want.

Hmm, thank you. Although is it really just BB the entire time, cuz that seems to be what he thinks the cleric should be doing. But pretty much all DDs think that in every instance, and it's not always true.

depending on the squad i guess
for my squads boss 1-2 never bb, clerics just attack and the rest of the squads manage with hp food.

boss 3 half the time they bb (this depends on the squads tho cause the nirvana/R9 survive fine without bb. If you get seeker to aoe the place, the cleric can focus on IH on mages and attack (expect some deaths at first)

boss 4 the bb is always up. The spawn mob dies in 5-8 hits (easy pie) the aoe does hurt tho (expect some deaths at first)

1st boss - Easy. Just DD and throw a chromatic every now and then when needed.

2nd boss - Also easy. DD and throw chromatic every now and then when needed. Has an occasional AOE sleep after like 50% health and will randomly cast a weak water DOT on people.

3rd boss - Depending on the make up of your squad, you can do this two ways.

1. Everyone with low HP/defenses (say like...below 5-6k or so?) - BB. Just do it.
2. Squad with a couple OPs (especially if they're wizzies) and no one with extremely low HP (3-4k or so) - chromatic + purify those in the squad with lower HP/def as needed.

This boss summons two types of mobs. The first kind spawns randomly on whoever and will immediately start hitting them and pdef breaking them. The second kind also spawns randomly on whoever and does an AOE that hurts quite a bit. Squad should kill those mobs. If you have a wiz in squad, have them open zhen on the boss and everyone gather on the zhen.

4th boss - Boss is easy up to the halfway point. It will just start off doing a weak poison AOE and a random single target debuff that I believe switches pdef and mdef? Once it reaches 50% HP and starts saying stuff like "can you avoid my hit?" he's going to use a massive AOE that pdef breaks and another physical AOE that reduces channel speed. If your squad has low HP, BB here when he gets to half HP. If not, you can get by with chromatic.

5th boss - Talk to the NPC to spawn the boss. Spark at the start. He'll give free chi + buffs just like time boss in 3-x periodically throughout the fight. The most important thing is to make sure no one dies here. BB if you need to. If someone dies, the boss will regen HP. He'll also spawn random mobs that should be killed.

As an off-note, most of these bosses will buff their mdef so having a veno in squad is nice.

Thanks a lot for this! The psychic's was nice and all, but this far more organized and from a cleric's perspective so it wasn't just BB at every boss. Hopefully rank 8 and tt90 will be enough to get some money to get better equips.Now to actually hit 100, lol. b:pleased

About the third boss, there's something really good to do to save your teammates: EARTHQUAKE.
If you have good reflexes, you can hit earthquake as soon as the damn mobs spawn on one of your teammates and knock them back.
You can use the skill in BB as well.
Pretty handy, I don't know many clerics using it in caster nirvana, but it helps everyone a lot
