More Damage or Less if close to the mob?

Wondering about this a while,
if the squad is killing a boss, is it better for an Archer to stay close to the boss or stay as far away as possible?
What is better for damage,critical hit,accuracy???
Edit: Just found out that damage is reduced, what is about critical hit rate and accuracy? Is it better? or as well reduced?
If you wear Fists as Archer does it make a diffirence if youre killing melee?

1. Dont break this rules & no matter what: DONT TRUST ANYONE!
2. Dont pay wine or heads fee (like to get kicked after that?) b:chuckle
3. Dont borrow items (since when return gms scammed stuff?) b:embarrass
4. Dont use your password in faction-forums (like hacks?) b:fatb
5. Dont give your mats to the tt-banker (obvious, not?) b:beg
6. Dont wait for help, or heals, or any other miracles,... (for more examples just play pwi and you will hate the whole humanity) b:bye

6+meters = full damage
5-meters = half damage
only with bows other weapons do full damage, crit/acc are the same unless your weapon has different stats like + crit or + acc0 -
Max range for sure with a ranged weapon. Gives you more reaction time, full damage and some bosses have a short range aoe.0

crit/accuracy doesn't change regardless of distance from target. form a pve perspective... you passive accuracy should be more then enough. but as far as pvp is concerned... you'll want at least 1 ring with 50% accuracy bonus... some may even suggest 2.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

Yes max range but becarefull you don't steal aggro.....
Being a Fist Archer is the worse use of an archer0 -

Ranged wep damage gets cut in half around 5m, its less for slingshots. Accuracy and crits are the same.
Fists will only increase damage compared to bow damage if you have -interval gear and the greater attack speed of fists lets you spark more.AKA PermaSpark, Heartshatter0 -
Fists are only better if your forced into melee (And have at least 2+ APS) or have a rather high APS (around ~3.33). Bishop boss and what's his face in Nirvana (Guy who spawns white and black adds) are two bosses in which you actually want to be close. Also, the earth path in Warsong you're kinda forced to melee there. Otherwise range is generally a good idea.0
