there are 2 types of things
what is good for all players
what is good for the players that spend all their money on a game
PWE dun care bout the first, only bout the second
sure, good for their income, but not for the state of their game, seeing 75% of the players quit b:shutup
I rmbr 1,5 year ago TW factions were recruiting 95/100+ and now TW factions are recruiting 80+ why o why cud this be
b:bye
so before u talk about 'people' u shud realise ur only talking about 10% of the PWI players and completely ignoring the other 90%
guess u use the same logic as PWE
its free 2 play, but if u dont pay, we dun consider u a player

Simple economics...
The game costs money to run.
The Boutique brings in the money needed to run.
People are buying certain things.
Dont offer the things the shoppers want, the shoppers wont buy.
The game can no longer afford to run.
Offer the things the shoppers want, the shoppers continue to buy.
The game has continued income to stay running.
If it is that 10% of players that keep the game financially soluable, then it would be in the best interest of PWE, and Perfect World International, to cater to those who have the money to spend.
Or, we could go the route that WoW took, make us all buy the game for $50 or so, then have to pay a subscription fee every month.
If you do not like the fact that PWI has a Cash Boutique that only a small percentage uses, then either offer a real world solution for the better, or play something else. Otherwise, you actually become a part of the problem.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Record quarter 110% growth. It looks like Cryptic Studios is in stable financial hands according to a news blurb at Gamasutra. Parent company Perfect World Entertainment saw a rise in third quarter revenue compared to the same period last year.
However, GamesIndustry.biz reports that PWE's net profits declined during the same period, primarily due to the Cryptic acquisition and the decision to temper in-game monetization activities in certain titles.
"While focusing on further enhancing the content of our portfolio is necessary for our healthy long-term growth, this decision did slow our revenues for the third quarter on a sequential basis. But our third quarter results still represent solid year-over-year revenue growth of 22.4 percent," explained chairman and CEO Michael Chi.

Perfect World is making a killing. Don't be stupid and think otherwise. From what I can find PWI has 30 million players in asia alone. America is an afterthought. I'd guess probably 1 million on North American servers.Evolution: Dungeon Master > Bards Tale > Ultima > Archlord > Perfect World

all of that is 100% true, but the game had been running for a whole year without packs and a cashshoppin frenzy, and now the past 2 years non-stop pack sales/rep and stuff, seems like they're so busy with their money, they're forgettin about the game.
I never said they're stupid for making so much money, tbh Id do it too, it just makes me sad that they dun care about their game, usually ull hear game developpers makin a game cuz they wanna create something great for their players, something everyone can enjoy playing, stuff like this is good to hear....compare that to PWE who only wanna make profit, just makes me sad0 -
Well, the ones who seem to be most vocal to PWE are the ones whom are calling for certain things. It may be that they need to listen in a bit different direction, but they need an incentive to do so. If there are enough players that are not complaining, then they will logically come to the conclusion that they are doin good overall.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
