The most well-written series that I have read since The Lord of the Rings.

And from probably the best young writer I have ever had the pleasure to read a book authored by.

I am literally counting down the hours until I can restart the series, and read each book in sequence, with no time to forget the twists and turns the previous book introduced.

Christopher Paolini is a genius...

'Nuff said.

Read the series, you'll understand what I mean.b:bye

Hey, my family obtained two legit copies, one on a Kindle and the other on a Nook. No need for me to get it illegally, ya' know?

Unless of course, both such devices weren't available to me... but who would be that cruel?b:shutup

    It's just digital. o.o

It's the same cover as is on the book itself, just without the possibility of damaging it.b:chuckle

And might I say, that dragon is awesome. Paolini's art people did a good job on it.

really O.o always thought e-books were just black and white b:shocked

and couldn't agree more about the art part b:chuckle
interesting style too, never would've imagined a dragon that way before

    2nd best fantasy I've read.

    Only cons:
-Ending was kind of predictable (but it was really long and thorough conclusion so that's fine. Abrupt endings like Harry Potter aren't good.)
-Paolini takes a long time to write
    -It has an ending.
-Typical epic high fantasy series, but still the best of its kind.

I've only read the first two books, so maybe I can't really say anything much, but still...

I thought the first two were good enough, but certainly not the best fantasy books out there. Lots of little issues I had with the action and the way the flow works out (need a good chapter ending: the main character goes unconscious! Need something witty to say: Use a movie reference!). The first one in particular. You could really tell that he was a kid just starting out when he wrote that one. The second one's writing style did improve though, so I'm guessing the same thing happened with the other two.

I would like to check them out at some point or another, but I've got other stuff to do and read first.

Eh. In all honesty it left me disappointed.

I started reading the series when the first book came out, and the story truly caught my interest, but Paolini has left too many plot lines undone. I know that he wants to go back and make a prequel as well as a post-inheritance book, but really? He has to go on and make another book to tie up all the loose ends that should have been taken care of by the end of the series?

The ending left me disappointed to no end.

    -Spoiler-

4 books that danced around Eragon and Arya's relationship with each other, and all we get at the end is a finger to the lips and a parting? I understand the significance of sharing true names, but it still irks me. I do realize that Arya's position does restrain her. However, Islanzadi's death was unnecessary. And if that was so, Arya would be in the position to leave with Eragon.

    -Spoiler END-

    -sigh-

oh well. I guess ill have to wait another 3-4 years for him to MAYBE come out with the post-inheritance book and hope for him to delve some more into their relationship. I've had to satisfy myself by reading fanficitons about it ever since I finished the book.

The series wasn't about eragon and arya though..

Yeah, I'll admit, that movie sucked hard. The director was trying to do too much on a small budget, which he spent almost entirely on rendering Saphira.b:surrender

I'm waiting for them to re-make it as a big-budget film with a director who knows what he's doing... James Cameron or Peter Jackson anyone?b:victory
