I have got to say about PWE, like every other MMORPG have issues and faults. Yet, all of them make even more faults as the time pass. From 2008~2009, everything was so great to play, tons of people enjoyed it, and there was people always doing quests and grinding together, FBs together, actually playing the game until 2010, their development have been stunt because of the handouts given that time. As the tideborn expansion, the oracle sales came in. They really have felt that the tideborns actually have dominated the game. However, they have ruined the real aspect of the story of perfect world, it does not make sense anymore. The story is changed. The added maps have been interesting, but the rest of the content does not bring any originality at all, especially the classes. As a psychic feels like playing as a wizard and seeker feels like you are playing as a BM until later.
So did you prefer playing PW back then or did you prefer playing PW like how it is now and why?

definatly back then....everyone use to work together to get stuff done and getting stuff thats suppose to be hard earned like tt100 wep or getting to lvl 100. Now its just 'oh cool, nice wep.' and you can hyper to 100 in a month or 2 b:surrender0

I enjoy playing preTideborn versions much more than PWI. I also like the fact that they can make their versions more fun than PWI without charging a fortune for everything. Quite the opposite, the coin drops in nonPWI versions are so high that everything is easily available with a minimum a grinding ingame. In fact all the money I used to spend on PWI I now donate to private server versions because they are more fun and they actually communicate with their players ingame.0

The game itself had less stuff in - but it had more, and nicer, people.
And the price of stuff was low enough that you could realistically expect to attain things through play. No rushing to 99, cash shop gave things that were nice but not better than everything else.

In the past the game was good, now I'm working on my secound char because I can't get help to make my quests, anyone is intersted in make quests or kill boss anymore...0

Yes, any simple calculation can show, that character using refined and sharded high rank (including military) equipment can survive all such situations, that can kill non-CS character.

One thing to add. You can get that stuff without being a CS-er. Trust me, it isnt even that much work. You just need a BRAIN and patience.

In such cases it is not game.
it is merchanting.
When you worry about coins and gold, game transform in something else.
And I know many PC games, where you not need game-money to play in such quantities as in PWI .[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
The game was obviously better back then for a lot of reasons, some people have already stated, one that I'll mention is the fact that you didn't have to be level 100 to efficiently PK as with the game now, if your not 100, some 10x sin will appear from no where and insta kill you, though really if you're in any PK hot spot, it's going to be a 10x with crazy refined gear/rank gear ready to insta kill your ***, back on pre-tb though, you could be pking and TW during level 70-90 and actually be some sort of a factor and a help in both because the game wasn't 100% gear/aps related.
Shame really that all PWE cares about is how much money they can milk with the constant "sales" that aren't even sales any more just because of how often each item has actually been on sale, mainly looking at packs, just try talking about PWE/PWI on any gamers website like mmorpg.com or mmohut forums, this game just gets trashed all over, it's already happened on mmorpg.com when someone made a thread on "why does everyone hate PWE?".[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Nah nah Pressa prefers the game now mystics are wicked awesome and I do enjoy all the new content. All these dam neighsayers don't know what they are talking about prolly half of them never played the game before TB or for very long before. Everything that is in the game is still in the game and PWE has been working on things for lower level PK instances BH levels people quickly and the power level has been in there since pre TB people just started using it not that long ago.
I personally feel the game it better as it has SOOOOO much more to do then before and leveling speed isn't god awful like before. Perspective- woulda taken 4 years to get to 105 pre BH. No no no not cool at all. Learn to like what you have its not going back.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
At first thought I want to say I prefer PWI "Pre-Tideborn" era but since I only recently got back into the game I don't want to jump to any conclusions.
I will admit that I did enjoy seeing more people out and about questing and grinding on regular mobs for starters.
Since I am not one to care about ones E-peen size or attempting to be high on some PK rankings list the whole idea of power leveling does not come into play when I try to compare the two times eras or PWI.
I can say that there was some form of acomplishment for smaller things back in the beginning of course. For example, to see people with TT60 or TT70 green weapons was pretty cool. For someone like myself I know I will never have in my grasps Nirvana gear but I still enjoy examining toons and seeing all the cool gear that they have. For myself I still hold great enjoyment when I get some new gear.
In the beginning it was easy to find a helping squad to run some of the harder quests but I think if your in a good guild it still can be said the same. If you have a good group of friends there is not one quest you probably could not get finished.
SIDE NOTE: Im gonna need some new friends on Lost City b:surrender
As for all the cool items that people are getting from so many new hand-outs I think it's nice to have more choices of style/pets/mounts. Heck, eventually I will be walking through West Arch with my Baby Rabbit pet and people are gonna think wow, what is that?!? since people more will be caught up in the new hype of everything.

PQ, no one really touches that out of the "thousands" of people on each server, everything else is "end game" content which is simply just more gear farming which is slowly becoming obsolete to R8/R9, apart from that, the game is simply the same as it was years ago in terms of content that's actually used.

Old PWI all the way. Since October 2008 here.
I won't deny that there are several things I do enjoy content wise that came with the Tideborn-Genesis (I love my Psychic very much yet I acknowledge that they are OP) and the Mystics are a fun class. The new areas are aesthetically beautiful (I'm an artist, you see) but I would trade that for the old PWI days any day.
It's not the content only that makes the game, after all, but also the people. I don't mind running the same old instances over and over with my good friends. We do crazy stuff, die, have a laugh, test our limits and have fun but other than that..there is nothing left in this game.
The friends and the guild will not always be online/there when you are/need it and finding help from strangers has gotten extremely hard. Not only that but even when you get to do BHs and whatnot you come across people throwing their e-peen at you. Sorry but I don't give a damn about your pixels. All I want to do is play and enjoy the game.
I won't lie, I got rank 8 for my Venomancer and decently high refines as well but that was through hard work as well as help and support from my friends. Actually it was poor but people could sit alts in zhen with willing parties and power level like that. And FF was altered before TB wasn't it? I was pretty sure it was made into the new one before TB cause that was back when blessing was still playing and blessing quit before the TB expansion.

PQ? hmmm I dunno what that is exactly I don't know all the abbreviations anymore honestly people do touch them other quests and stuff new players eat that **** up. Its like its not all about leveling its about instances everything that could be done can still be done and I have seen a bunch of people doing bosses, small guilds having boss days and days for FBs because they are that small still they can do that. Obviously large guilds like map guilds in a game thats has been out for 3 years and people have had time to get to 100 so its going to be dominated by the highest leveled highest geared. It doesn't matter if you cash shopped your way up there if you don't wanna pay no one is forcing you.
I have only ever paid 20 bucks on this game, I'm not the strongest veno out there by a long shot but I got to my level the long way every coin I earned *loaned to me and paid back sometimes* But its up to the player there is stuff to do.
As a point of fact there are several bosses people can do and they are coming out with base quests a thing for mid to high guilds. Yes it takes forever it takes forever to build a dam castle doesn't it?

I got to 60 in november 08 I was 70 in 09 and either close to 90 or past 90 by the time the TB expansion came out. I think was like 89 when BH came out and I think those came out with TB didn't they? So yes I was 70 pre TB lol and only a few months and I REALLY lolly-gaged if I actually was serious about leveling I could have done it before xmas that year but I slowed down even further at 60 and I was really going slow before that.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Even now, I still enjoy PW, even though it was not as great as before. Still better than other mmos i have played / seen. I think that what killed the game was the player "PVP" philosophy, since everyone are most intersted in upgrade their chars than properly play the game. Of course that company saw this opportunity of make cash from the naive players and the things are now in the way that they are on.0

as game experience the pre-aps era was fun. I liked the genie addition and I pretty much think everything after went downhill from game experience p.o.v.
aps ruined the already weak PvE balance: archers were best dps-ers anyway compared to both ranged or melee classes, with pretty much no cost and no hassle (spark macro -> tab out, come back when boss dead) - like mana for casters.
Wizards were pretty much handicaped as magic DDs, had no useful squad buffs and clerics were preferred anyway instead of them in almost any kind of farming runs.
Now, what I trully hated in the old times was the gear farming mechanics. Endless TT runs for hours and hours, with barbs taking the "first choice" on TT drops because they have high repair bills (true, but taking a 2 mil mat because you have 200k in repairs was just robbery) and it was pretty much a given or else they would not tank the TT
I guess a change of the drops system would have been an absolute necessity for the game to survive on long run, for a very simple economic reason: farmers don't bring cash to PWI. Farmers in F2P MMORPGs are a necessary evil. They bring no income, but their achievemens from farming make the spenders cash shop. So, it's bad to have them cause you have no income, but it's good to have them cause they are like walking commercial for what you can achieve.
So the new era came along with -int sales...and somehow all the game managers and testers and so on and so forth didn't realize how broken that would be. Soloing instances by aps classes, then introducing a new class that could basically solo even better everything possible.
They made a ton of cash (look at their share value around sept 2009) in a short time-frame but then the inevitable decine followed.
Unfortunately, because of poor decision making, they only made about 1/10 of the cash this game could have produced for them.
There's an extremely important thing PWE doesn't seem to have a grasp on even now: China and Western World are two very, very different cultures. While a grinding MMO works like a wonder in asia, the western world prefers to buy stuff ingame with real cash and not mindlessly kill the same mob 102123101231023 times.
What I like in the "new" PWI is the fact that I can be very independent. I don't NEED to squad, I can solo stuff. I have the option to squad and sometimes when I feel like it or it makes economic sense, I do it.
PWE/PWI wanted to mix the grind style with the cash shop trend and they failed miserably. There are still ppl playing the game, but a lot less than a few years back. That combined with a general dicontent of the players versus game management leads me to the conclusion that as soon as a more tailored game for western players will launch, PWI will have a rapid and dramatic decline to the point of merging/shutting the servers down. If you don't believe, check PW-MY, Oracle was the first server I start playing PWI on. They are dust now, because of strong competition.
2012 will not be a good year for PWI, as there are a number of heavyweight MMO coming on the market, a couple of them in close beta or already launched on Asian market. So, love it or hate it, enjoy the game as much as you can for now, 'cause soon you're gonna be back to 10 shops and no lag in west archos, just like the 2nd day after launch.FiveAps - PvE char made from half as.s unbound gear sold by a wizard, doing 18x the damage and 10x the money the wizard was ever capable of. b:laugh . So yeah they are introducing more and more content each year, have opened up a server a year since they started and expanded the game once a year since they started. SO yeah, a game that is expanding so much probably isn't "dying" as you so claim. Why would a company spend that much money on a sinking ship? You can say what you want but the evidence presents the contrary. I too enjoy the game less than i used too. Part of that is mostly remembering the positive. Part of that is the fact that you do any repetitive thing for 2 years you start to feel fatigue and it loses it's luster. Part of it is because many of my former friends have quit. Part of it is because I just don't like certain changes made to the game. So is the game, in my personal opinion, less fun than it used to be? Sure. Does that mean the game is dead? Because a few of my friends quit, because a few of the big guilds have fallen? No, it certainly does not. You'll know the game is dead when they stop updating it, stop patching it, stop opening servers, and people stop spending money on it.
