Fake names when you gonna stop it GM's

I am getting SICK AND TIRED of Losing my friends beucase of a silly stuiped guy which he make a name almost same of my name

atleast 7 or 8 guys now not talking to Me because they lost thier coins giving that guy

a guy named ~removed~ is runing in game and saying he is me and i need coins so please send me coins and since those guys are my friends for sure they will help me if i needed some coins so dont say that they not suppose to give coins


and you GM's since long time ppl start complaing to you about ~removed~ one and ~removed~ and ~removed~ and now ~removed~ and what happen ? nothing
why you dont banned that IP why u dont track that name go check your system and check all the ticket we send to you guys all the SS has been send to you

WTH you waiting for GM's ? isnt it banneable if u ask ppl for thier account info ? isnt it bannable if the guy said iam that guy and he is not !!!? why we keep wacthing this guy scaming ppl and we dont do anything !!?


Please fix this problem and banned him since for sure he is a guy have a main account and trying to scam to make his main much better so banned him with his main so he start QQ :P

    Your friends are dumb.

    they can look at the guys gear to determine if its the real you
    they can pm you from their friend list to determine if its the real you


    if its been happening you should have warned your friends. if you didnt its your fault.

    If this individual is actually pming people on your friends list then i think you can assume the person is known by you and your friends or who ever you gave acc access to, or this thread could just be a cover up for your own scam.b:laugh

    they are nto dumb when it come to someone trust u and u just pm him from almost the same name and u tell them u are in ur alt and doing something and u need coins

    and loool i like they way u think that iam the one scaming them coz yes i might do that for my name what about ~removed~ and ~removed~ and other guys they might doing this also ?

    ...I'd reckon even the stupidest of people would have realised that blue whispers = someone random, pink = you. Or asked him for a proper reason on why you're not on your name if the name is the same. And they're pretty bad friends if they don't listen to your explanation. Unless they don't believe it because it's too idiotic, in which case why would we? b:surrender

    Anyway, I think it's rather hard to ban someone based on the fact that they have the same name as you and that your friends are stupid. I know there is another toon on my server named ~removed~ and one named ~removed~, neither of them being me, but hey, one of them as been in my faction and I've done BHs with the other. So both are valid and nice people b:chuckle

    If people are that stupid, blame it on your friends. And as stated in a post before, obviously it's someone you know who do this, since they know your friendlist. You sure you haven't given your login to a friend for them to help you level or something?

    let me explain it more to make it clear

    this guy scamed the ppl in faction not in my FL!! WTH you are talking about ?

    the funny thing that all of u trying to be smart and teling me how its and it might be one of my friends and other silly things


    he is someone who scamed ppl from faction not from my FL ppl and no one knows my info other than my brother and i know some silly ppl gonna say may ur brother did it

    means my brother also using leaders account infos also

    god dam it u confused me and confused yourself

    anyway no need for ur opinion guys thanks tho

    I'm pretty sure we aren't getting the full story. It's very unlikely that someone will pick a random target and go through the trouble of making names similar to theirs just so they could steal money from their friends and sabotage friendships. It's more than probably someone the OP knows and I'm willing to bet that he did something to **** that person off.

    There are similar situations happening to Sanctuary's top guild leaders, they are getting impersonated as well.

    Simple solutions:
    Be sure of who you talk with.
    Trade in person not over mail.
    If it's a faction member "on an alt" have them go to their faction character.


    It's a little more work, but no one can seriously be that lazy right?
    Spread the word, impersonators everywhere.

    Your original post implied that the people this person was scamming were also your friends. You never mentioned anything about a faction until now.

    Look, if this person who is impersonating you is trying to scam your faction mates, give them a heads up. If your faction mates are so idiotic that they cannot tell the difference between you and a fake, you might be better off finding a better faction.

    There are plenty of in game measures which prevent impersonation, the fact that someone has been able to exploit this is quite surprising tbh...

    Here's a simple solution you can do yourself: Make an agreement with your friends. Whenever you ask them for money, you must know a certain code word only you and that friend know. If someone asks them but they don't know the word, well then they're obviously not you.

    And I'm somehow pretty sure OP pissed someone off lol Judging by the way this is written I agree with Fiona, that's most likely not the full story. You don't just get randomly get targeted by a scammer b:chuckle

    Also. If the people of your faction just give you money without making sure it's you.. oO; Not very smart.

    Btw, you won't get a GM answer to a personal problem on forums. Send a ticket to support.

    People have been doing this scam in Real Life so it is not hard to understand that it is done easier in a game because people are much more trusting.

    I confirm what Roseary said, that last time I logged last week, I was warned that there had been two character pm'ing our faction members using our leader name with an underscore at start or end. And that other faction's leader name had been used recently on Sanctuary to try and foul their member in getting their account info and/or coins.

    You say this guy is scamming your faction mates? How are they so stupid as to not see that he is not in the same faction? Surely this person scamming lots of your faction mates isn't in your faction pretending to be you with a similar name, if so you are all idoits.

    Personally though I pretty sure you are either a troll or covering for your own scams.
