It has been awhile since we have have a news update on the state of the game, so I come here to hear what the other players opinions are. I already know a lock is coming, but to the following posters, try to be objective and don't just say "this game sucks". So, what are your thoughts on the state of the game?

Personally, I believe that the communication between the administrators and the player base is so little. I know that PWI is not a 5 star game, so the developers wont be the best, but even a response would be great. The game is also not supported to well, as there are some insane unbalances within the game.

Thoughts?

Edit: I installed the game October 2008, I hardly EVER log onto the game anymore, as I just don't enjoy it as much as I used to.

    The state of the game is very bad. If a good friend of mine didn't ask me to come back to PWI, I would have NEVER came back.

    Read the patch notes lately?

    - Two new classes
    - New Cities
    - New territory
    - New ring engraving
    - New Faction bases
    - New Faction quests
    - New Weapons/Armour/Rank
    - New fashions almost weekly. (keep the emo's happy)
    - New mounts
    - TW map reset
    - etc... etc.. etc...

    This is just over the past what - 6 months / year?

    EVERY WEEK SOMETHING NEW OR ANNOUNCED PRACTICALLY.

    Get off your high horse and stop ******** because you spent all your time and money on a fail archer before Tideborns were even available.

    It's fine if you play really casually. Or mostly PVE-in my opinion. But if you're looking for constant entertainment or 'NEW excitement' it's just eh. It's not very fun even in PVE if you don't have anyone to play with.
    I'm just waiting for my friend to get back from out of state so we can hang. But actually playing...I just mess around with silly builds for fun. It's most definitely lost it's luster. b:shutup

    But I really can't lose the nostalgia and enjoyment that I had in the beginning on PWMY then here, so I will never leave-just because it was one of the most enjoyable online games I've ever played.

    So I'm guessing you have never been here that long. I'm a veteran and when this game came out in '08 it was a hell lot better than it is now.

    -GM's actually existed back then
    -GM's actually listened to you, instead of ignoring you
    -When you sent in a ticket it never took a month or 2 to get a reply
    -The economy was a lot better before the anni packs
    -Gold was only 100k or less
    -People were a lot friendly back then
    -Etc.

    Basically there's 90% more QQ than actual problems represented require.

    Problems:
    PvP is broken by cheap as hell Rank 8/9 which has also made Nirvana obsolete except for sins and those who already have Nirvana QQ. PvE is boring unless your squad is interesting. People refuse to challenge themselves to weird squads to break the mold and add some fun. People refuse to consciously maintain PvP balance in order to prolong "fun" in PvP. People power level to high levels without knowing rudimentary game basics or possessing rudimentary gear basis. THEY BROKE OUR PILLAR PET PIGGIES.

    Cool Stuff:
    New faction base instance that is challenging and not something you can just face roll your way through. Good luck on getting an active guild who pursues it though. New fashion, mounts, variability in Rank gear adds flavor. New mob that tests damage is certainly worth a try. New land is small and mostly useless but looks nice. Mystic and Seeker land is big and really nice to explore, lots of hidden bits. Mystic and Seeker are pretty impressive classes in both PvE and PvP (R9 seekers = terrifying). Mystics solve age old "BUT WHO REZ CLERIC" problem.

    Gear has always been the main deciding factor in this game but back when most people had ~g12 or less it wasn't a huge issue. Every time new gear gets released, the bigger the factor gear plays in pvp. The gear gets easier and easier to get straight from the cash shop but getting gold as a f2p gets harder and harder.


    As the game started to reward players simply on their willingness to spend money on the game the worse the community got. More people looking for an ego boost start playing while those who actually played the game properly leave. This results in the terrible community this game now has.


    So now you can make a new character from scratch, level up to 100 in a couple hours in a single instance, buy the best gear in the game straight from the cash shop, then afk in south adc and **** talk every one to try and stir up drama between anyone so that you can justify the thousands of dollars you just spent on some temporary data.
    I like to rub it in. Enjoying the game?

    @ the person who seemed to know my archer that is 2.5 years old and is saying this game is a amazing, go look at a top tier MMO's patch notes. srsly.

    i bought r9 over getting aps (decide) build.

    now i think ppl are wrong i do not think it is ALIGHT to have TWO classes SIN and bm barb and archer do to but not as much who can benefit from farming as a whole if that is what it take to become a legit farmer then i will gladly PAY wish i did rank9 sht and laught at the one aps i can kill cos in my eyes aps killed this game.

    axe bm dont stand a chance againt a aps in most cases even less the rest of the weapon and most bm have calamitys gold 70 axe at 101 cos APS sword pole u will never see.

    axe barb are only used as cata barb or they we on there sins or bm i am taking about majority not a few who still play legit and sht.

    this is how pwi have become so rank gear is the least of the problems

    The only thing that happened that makes 99% of the problems players complain about regarding PWI is that PWE made things way too easy.

    If PWE had kept things as difficult, or even moderately less difficult, as things were pre-genie expansion, all of the content that we have now would be keeping everyone so busy, the forums would be dead minus the people posting on ideas on how to accomplish things in this game besides swiping their credit cards and getting insta-rank.

    And that...is the state of the game. Take it however you like.

    Don't like it? Go search for other *cough* versions of PWI. *wink*

    I really like the new daily (Amber) and the BH rewards being bumped up, I really liked the weekend quizzes, the holiday fashion sale and .. sooo many things just recently.

    But my new request is the lunar 3mil fee to be waivered... since we have so many other new ways to go with gear...

    as long as fish and aps exist leave all the thing as is we all knew they are the one who benefit the most out of all thing except a few places.

    lunar might be expensive but at least it will make it so ppl who really want those gear farm them over just plain greed farming with fishies.

    The game is where we all drove it.
    For people who continue to blame the "game" for all its faults, it is a two way street. The player base as well as the "game" share equal blame for where it is now.

    But to people who don't take this game too seriously, it is still enjoyable, at the very least for the laughs.

    I will list some points out of whats the state of the game.
    1. Competition without cash shopping is EXTREMLY hard, PWI forces you to cash shop in order to achieve your endgame gear, unless you want to spent 100 years grinding for it.
    2. New players have been let down, as well as veterans. Making the Secret Passage PVP, was VERY rude for lowbies.
    3. There's always a new pack coming, or a resale of the old ones.
    4. Same sales over and over.
    5. Rank gear became the pro gear, and TT99 - nirvana used to be the pro gear, rank gear was very hard to achieve, not only pressing few buttons to buy your reputation.
    6. GMs seem to not care of Perfect World anymore, actually not only GMs the company itself.
    7. New classes keep unbalancing the old ones, without them making changes to make the new classes fit, it is pretty much impossible to find balance this way.
    8. Recasting gear (rank) is just an alternative way for PWI to leech money...
    9. PWI seriously need to update their graphics... like... badly.
    10. Ticketing system is COMPLETLY obsolete.
    11. Rules are not being enforced, allowing anyone do whatever they please, breaking the game even more.
    12. JFC was not completly fixed, they just lowered the dragons exp as I heard... wasn't this the INTENDED patch they wanted to implement before?...
    13. PWI developers are a myth, reffer to PWC in order to fix something.
    14. PWI is based on gambling and not skill.
    15. PWI has cheaters and they do not get punished.
    16. New trials? - yet another way to make money for PWI, to do this you need good gear, aka rank gear or tt99 - nirv, but why in the world would you even do trials if you cant recast your gear?
    17. How can something in-game be worth over $1,500 USD? That is a sht load of money! and PWI just laughs while every "im with stoopd" charges this amount of money in a game that is not even worth it, like seriously.

    Point (7). New classes "keep" unbalancing old ones ? b:puzzled

    The only class that completely unbalanced everyone else was the tideborn. The newest class (Earth Guard) balances very well with the older races... perhaps being even slightly inferior in some respects (Mystic pets/healing compared to veno/cleric, etc...).

    Pretty much agree with the rest but people keep coming back to the game for whatever personal reasons so it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
