pets?

how do i obtain a pet without being a venomancer?

    You can buy an all class "baby" pets through cat shops or other people. They are purely decoration though. Venos are the only class that can use their pets in battle.

    mystics do have skills that grants them "summons" and plants that do various different things (ex. heal, deal damage, stun)

    they're sort of like pets i suppose, but the only class that can have a real battle "pet" is still a veno

    What kinda statement is that?, mystic pets do everything a veno pet can do, excluding the cash shop herc pet that can tank TT bosses and etc properly, what you're giving is a biased "statement" or you just simply dislike mystics, veno and mystic both have pets that fight for them, they both work 100% exactly the same in terms of commands, only difference is mystic summon levels up with the character, veno pets need levelling up separately and the fact that you can/have to teach veno pets skills, though veno pets can use the skills for free unlike mystic summons that have an mp pool, that said, their basic functions are still 100% the same.

    it was not a statement made based on the abilities of a mystic's summon versus the abilities of a veno's pet
    it was based on the fact that mystic's summons are simply not true pets in the sense that it is a skill you learn, not a mob you tame

    Makes no difference, they function in the same way, both mystic and veno pets only role is to kill things or tank things in some form or another, unless veno pets had some other special role I'm unaware of that actually makes a giant difference from what a mystic pet is capable of.

    Mystic pets are not called pets, they are called summons. It's nothing against mystics, it's just not what their version of it is called. They share many different capabilities. But while a mystic's summons and plants are meant to augment and improve their damage capabilities, a veno's pet is meant to act as another party member with it's own needs, skills, and learnable abilities. It's not to say they don't share many of the same traits or that one is better than the other. It's just a mystic summon is a summon and a veno pet is a pet. They share a lot of the same abilities and the same heal, but they are different and a mystic's role in party is also different than a veno. Doesn't make one better than the other. Play what you love.
