New PvP way... =)

I have actually had a faction event like that, where everyone gets similar armor and NPC wep and then it comes down to skill...kinda :P but either way Its tons of fun

Could just as easy make an open public 'test Server' but that isn't profitable, amirite?

NPC gear is still imbalanced. hh90 set with about +5 refines, g7 shards and limited to the original six classes is the closest you will get to balanced pvp in this game.

This was how **** was done back in the old days at OT (or anywhere we all met up). Charm use was also nearly non existent by the majority back then too. Now, it's just a slug fest to see who crits first. <.<

You know, skill does still exist in this game. I don't personally have a high ping, I average around 160ms-220ms and pvp just fine with it. As a software developer, I know how the crit system works, so if you have low crit rate then sure it will seem really random.

Sure, BM vs barb would be pretty pointless considering there wouldn't be any interval but a pure magic cleric would wreck a vit barb if both were in npc gear any day of the week. That is back to that "skill" thing. If the cleric is smart and uses barrier then they have plenty of time to put that barb on the floor.

Your statement about the stat bonus is pretty dumb too, NPC gear has pretty low requirements in comparison to tt99 or nirvana. I could see why it MIGHT be a problem for someone who has a higher level tome and restated a ton of stuff to make their stats just perfect, but playing like that is great until you shatter something, then you're screwed. Sometimes its better not to rely on stat bonuses, and not as many people do that as you may think.

Sorry for feeding the troll, I've done many NPC geared PVP events in the past (Mostly BM vs BM) and I never had any huge problems. It is all about skill, and skill does still exist, there just isn't much of it out there any more when people can cash shop $2000+ and one shot just about anyone.

I've played BM for 4 years and could stun lock someone in my sleep, but it doesn't help me much when I can't SEE a r9 sin that charm bypasses me when I have 11k hp. Then there is the problem of ranged people dropping down behind me like a r9 wiz that crits me for 20k, or a r9 archer that crits me for 12k, and so on and so on. Hell I'm not even ashamed to say that a r9 +12 BM has one shotted me for 12k crit zerk.. Someone like me that is half nirvana and half TT99 can hardly compete with rank 9s, there are plenty of them that I can kill if I catch them before they begin facerollkeyboardoneshot, but there are still some that are completely unkillable to me that I only deal 200 damage a hit to with +10 deicides.. lol..

As was implied earlier... how much skill does it take to send a Nix after a npc geared player ?

Certain classes are still going to dominate regardless of skill.

Huh... that might be true but it doesn't change the fact that there are any number of free pets out there that when leveled up would still wreck most NPC geared players anyway. Can you imagine the havoc a lvl 90 starter scorpian pet would do to most npc geared arcane classes ?

Particularly when its melee damage wouldn't be affected by the PvP penalty ?

My point stands. Venos would have a huge advantage in any "npc" contest. b:avoid
