Problem with acquiring a skill

Your plants need to be learned in the order that they appear on the skill tree. Punishing Sting first, then befuddling creeper etc.

In order to be able to buy those skills from the trainer, you must first have the skill books in your inventory. You can acquire these skill books from completing the necessary quests. If you do not have the quests already, you may find them in the available quests under "Normal". The trick to being able to learn these skills from the trainer is that it must be done in the correct order. Example: you must learn Punishing Sting before you can learn Befuddling Creeper. You will notice that once you have the initial skill bought -as long as you already have the next skill book in your inventory- the next skill will then become available for purchase and will no longer be grayed-out.
