lvl Cap?

ok so i know the lvl cap has been 105 for some time now... i been away for a bit and pwidatabase.com is showing gear for lvl 130? Has the cap been raised?

    no, it is still 105. The gear in question is gear that is still above the level cap and either is set that high for reasons such as it not yet having been officially released into the game in our version of the game, or for some other reason that I can not entirely guess at.

    This is a common practice in many games developed in other countries that have multiple versions or servers. They will have versions of items that are visible either in parts of the software or even in the game itself, but which cannot be accessed at the current time for whatever reason. It's nothing to get worried about.

    Database just shows all the stuff they can find in the code. There is a ton of un-implemented content. The level cap remains at 105 though, with no word of plans to raise it. If it were to be raised it would require a reworking of the exp curve, or the addition of something to provide a huge amount of exp.

    I like the level 110 hp/mp pots that drop in heaven/hell, wanna confuse people just leave a few laying around a starter town.

    Not to mention the current stoppage of all experience gain at level 105 would have to somehow be removed from the game code should they raise the level cap. As well as the addition of monsters that are significantly more powerful than the current level 150 monsters that provide the max challenge in the game.

    Well since the original creators designed it with a max level of 150, and a large enough map to support 5 more cities of the same expanse as Archosaur... sure it's possible.

    Problem is that PWE fired all the original developers and the current one's don't know jack ___. It's not likely that we'll see the game improve from where it is now.

    Our version of the game has remnants of the content that was present when the cap used to be 150 over in china.

    I play on a private server that goes to lvl 150. It also only has the original races, no Tideborn or EG.

    Its heaven compared to this mess.

    I don't think this game will ever get its level cap raised. This game was designed as Perfect World 2 with a level cap of 105 that I don't think it was ever supposed to be reasonably reached by any large number of people. For most reaching the level cap was almost impossible back then. The only real reason we have lvl 105s now is because of hypers, bhs, and hyper+frost, and that "glitch" that wasn't originally programmed into the game.

    So yeah if the level cap was ever to be raised, this game would have to change a lot to facilitate that.

    Was the level cap really 150 and then it got downgraded to 105? If yes, was 150 the cap in the p2p version only?

    I know people have mentioned before that one can easily find all this information using google translate, but most of the English translations I've gotten from that are still pretty muddled and hard to understand. b:shutup

    I'll try to answer, but the ones who've been here since the early beginnings probably knows more about it.

    Yeah the cap used to be 150(but never for us), yeah it was downgraded to 105, for reasons I don't know. At one point the game was pay to play, that is, subscription based, then it went to current boutique system.

    So you see, a lot of the old game is still around but disabled. And FCC wasn't always an EXP dungeon.
