Is it ok to edit the pwi files cosmetically without getting banned?

^Basically it speaks for itself, but I was wondering if I could make a fat barb, like on PW-MY without getting banned. Cuz I've seen other characters with different hairstyles and eyes that don't belong to their own race running around, and barbs with big giant bobble heads. I don't want to breach any terms of service, so I thought it would be better to ask first ^^. Thanks in advance to any replies I get hehe.b:thanks

    Nope.

Editing any files whatsoever is a bannable offense.

It's only bannable if you get caught.

Pwi accidentally released te bobblehead barb preset with a patch a few months if you saved it you can use it. Seems kinda dumb for pwi not to release them since people want these presets and pwi has them. Its nothing more than pwi ban baiting people, and with a dwindling player base, chasing people away that they could have easily kept seems imprudent.

And by caught they mean someone sends in a ticket with your face on it. Then they'll ask you to change it back.

Just edit away, if PWE actually did start to Ban the people that edited the ini files, that would be about 70% of the population banned, somehow I don't think they can be bothered to do that.

Its not a crime unless you get caught.

Which unless you do a really stupid edit (I.E really obvious and horrific) isnt gonna happen.

I'm always surprised, when I see screen-shots from PW-CN, at how many people have stick figures for toons.

Seriously though. What's wrong with allowing us to do ini edits for our avatars?

    Well according to genotypist

So I guess making ugly characters is why we're not allowed to .Ini edit

And I present you with this (or anything in Kritty's Ugliest Mug Contest) which was dome (I presume) without .ini editing

It shouldn't even be needed if they'd finaly just do some graphical upgrades on older classes... Why do we have to walk around with weird ugly eyes and have to buy wigs to hide out lame hair... b:infuriated

That image wasn't that bad. A year or so ago there was a cleric running around that looked much much worse b:chuckle

But I agree with everyone, it should be allowed to edit .ini files. It will create more diversity in the looks of players and who says characters will be more ugly? There is also a great potential for characters to look even prettier. I for one would very much like an axe blademaster the size of a dwarf.

Its another money making scheme, players who play the old classes don't like the hair so they must spend on coin on fash to hide it. .ini edits would allow poeple to posses any of the hairstyles not in the boutique and change is to long as they have a makeover scroll.

They're plotting against us I tell ya. Making us rely on the C$ b:shocked

    -goes into paranoid mode-

The goverment is in on it maaaaaaaan. subliminal mesages brah b:shocked

    -end paranoid mode-

Seriously though I dun see any arguable reason as to why .ini are a ban-able offence. Yea people can make ugly **** characters and stick thin ones, but the people who want ugly chars are entitled to their right to make the uglies, I mean PW has one the most interactive customization options, Its part of the reason I liked this game so much. Furthermore ts not like making an ugly character is beyond the scope of the amount of available customization options without .ini edits (need I bring up that picture again). Stick chars can just be screenshotted and reported, or (god forbid) the GMs take an active part in the community and seek out people who have super thin characters and ban them for abusing .ini edits. Or edit that "Call GM" button so we can type what person x is doing so you'll know wheter to appear and check it out or just ignore it. And we do know it actually works b/c someone on one of the servers actually got a GM to pop up and get bot booted when they pressed it. so someone calls a GM when they spot someone with a twig char and the GMs can deal with him/her.

And like I've said in multiple threads Ill freaking volunteer to be a GM because I still like this game its fun, I like playing it, and it really pains me to see what ya'll (PWE/GMs) have run it down to. Remember when GMs ran around showing off new fash/mounts/flyers, or their daily messages on WC, or when they enforced the rules? Yea we should get that back, even if its for the sake of ya'll wanting to squeeze every ounce of $ from your players (at least so its not painstakingly obvious).
