Although your post does make a lot of sense, I'm afraid in this case it fails to apply. This time it actually is the servers : \frankieraye

Can't proove it 100% ofcourse, however anything else on the internet here works just fine b:pleased

Using your methods, and the fact it is a worldwide issue across multiple servers atm, kinda proves it is a server issue.frankieraye

See hop 13 there? That's a regional router prior to any PWE connection that's dropping packets.
That is the most likely source of the issue.
Guess what? It's not a server.
Because of how close it is to the last regional hub before it hits PWE's ISP, it would cause a good 80% of the users to experience the issue.
Try again.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

lol ok, whatever, we'll all just bow down to your infinite wisdom. Fact still remains, game pretty much unplayable for much of the community right now, and pwi needs to take corrective actions.frankieraye

frankieraye says that they are looking into it. However, if it is as I am seeing it, (which has happened before, roughly 6 months ago), there is nothing they can do about it.
Everyone is always so hot to blame PWE, when 90% of the time it's not the case at all.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

The only personal info there is your user name on your PC if you run it from the standard location.
Everything else is public domain information that anyone could easily discover.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Why would you want to make it that easy for everyone to see your I.P. address though..........frankieraye

Someone is probably trolling the servers with a DDoS attack, even more to come when that timer on the news page hits zero.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Why would you care....?
Even my **** router has a basic anti-DDOS filter on its firewall and ZoneAlarm tells everything else to **** off and suck a ****.
IP addresses are not some sort of super personal information, I mean, would you hide the number on your front door and tear down the sign signifying the name of your street? Cos its exactly that, an address, nothing else.0 -
Stressedout - Dreamweaver wrote: »Why would you want to make it that easy for everyone to see your I.P. address though..........
Any time you poll a webpage, your put your IP address you there. Every time you post, your IP address is tagged to the message. Every form you fill out, when you game connects, anything you do online, your IP is visible.
There are ways to spoof it, and you can hide it sometimes, but every single request has to know where to return to and that's your IP. It's all sent plain-text across the web where anyone can see. It's the other side of your IP address that you need the security. That's why we have firewalls. Most home routers even have one built in lately.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Stressedout - Dreamweaver wrote: »Why would you want to make it that easy for everyone to see your I.P. address though..........
Because most peoples ISP use NAT Network Adress Tranlation and our IP adress is not static but changes evry 24 hours or within 20 minutes of disconnecting from isp as the IP address is released to dns server pool again and you get new IP if you reconnect.
