Why are they called Weekly Maintenances, when they aren't done on a weekly basis... and I mean every week? Should just be called Maintenances, if that's the case... b:surrender

    It matters? not like anything is fixed on each maintenance anyway Im better with no maintenance at all, more gaming time.

    I prefer maint, then we wont be sitting with lag on some servers >.>

    While you could be right, I don't really think they reboot the system itself.

    Once upon a time, long long ago, PWI used to do updates every week - every Tuesday night. Usually there were small fixes, little tweaks, etc. You know, some of those "localization fixes" you read about in the patch notes, but no one can actually explain what they are. Often they were juicy gadgets, and interface updates, and sometimes new quests (remember when Genie's were new? Autopathing? BountyHunter quests?)

    Then, over time, PWI got a bit bored. They started cranking out other games, more and more of them, and PWI kind of fell into neglect. Then the *new* games that PWI's wandering attention had focused on started to get neglected as well, as another and another new, shiny game was released and more of the good staff people from PWI got transferred to the New Toy.

    Today, we still eagerly anticipate every Wednesday morning an Update. Most of the time, one never comes. More often, when we *do* get an update, it's to install new fashion, or a new pack (same as the old pack).

    So even though we hardly ever get updates anymore, we still get up each Wednesday like it's Christmas Morning - only to find it's not December yet.

    Sigh.

    Maintenance in PWI = New Sales.....


    ACTUAL maintenance would involve fixing bugs etc.

    i just assumed that they reset servers or make sure they work well on maint. So i basically see "minor localization changes" as we made sure the mfing servers are working for you our children!

    I guess, but as I know they have test servers where they do test all before adding things to the actual servers, or atleast thats WHAT I HOPE THEY DO...

    To release a client patch they simply need to d/c everyone, update the client version, so people will not be able to connect again if they dont update through patcher or manually... no real maintenance needed server-side...

    supposedly they do, but if they actually fixed stuff before releasing it we would never get any patches.

    Maint is not required to turn sales/packs on or off. Only rarely are new packs actually added, as there is an abundance of packs already in the game... THey just haven't been released yet. >_>

    wait what's maintenence? I havent' seen anything like that since i been playing this. All i ever seen was "text changes"........ o ya expansions that broke other **** too.... lol

    Ive played this game almost 3 years. If they actually fixed something everytime they did "Maint" this would be the most perfect, most played game in the world.

    I personally think they use it as downtime for the weekly free dinner in the office event.
