I currently have calamity axes +3 with one +125 accuracy shard.

What are your thoughts on what I should do next?
I had originally thought I would add another socket and shard, but at a 100 socket stones and the fact that I almost 80, I was thinking this was not the best idea.

What are your opinions on lvl 80 axes and/or just waiting till lvl 85 and to look at getting Pan Gu's?

im too lazy today to write an whle page of axes, axes dmg, what fit with your build etc etc blablabla...
what you aiming for? rang gear (r8 etc...) or tt99, nirvana...

well if you aiming for rank gear: pangu giant axe till 100 ijs... just keep doing fc with him... when reach 100 get the r8 hammer.
    if you're getting tt90 / 99 and nirvana: tt80 lion king axe → tt90 gold dual axes. OR tt80 green → tt90 green → tt99 gold → nirvana(if you can afford, or farm like a nolifer).

hope it helped a bit. Blood b:victory

Nothing to worry about. I haven't decided yet the path I want to t ake, and just trying to open up for discussion.
Just curious as to what some thoughts were.

    Thank you.

Rev I would say just use the cala's until 85. They worked for this bm until like 100 XD at which point I upgraded to the r8 axe.
Pan Gu is a good option to upgrade to at 85 since it has a nice hp boost and dmg increase, which will help in frost to keep mobs on you until those pesky APS classes go nutz x3
Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

I personally went the pan gu -> r8 road. Pan Gu will always be easilly resellable so you won't lose a lot of cash on it, it's a good axe, nice damage, fastish attack speed and some extra HP. The relatively low strength requriement at higher levels will allow you more vit for HP too, especially if you restat to fists early.

It mostly depends on your PvPing aspirations though, in which berserk axes are a big advantage.

np, here is what i did, when i got 85 i bought a pan gu giant axe, and i've imbued 2 perfect citrines(yes you all will think im noob etc.. but was only for fc pulls) got 90 and made gold 90.

had the 90 axes till 100 and the pangu i sold when i was 98 or 99. got r8 on barb > r9.

so if you like pvp just go with 90 gold. if you don't care for pk bellow 100 stay with pangu till 100

Id say this, if u rich and dont mind spending abit of dough: go for rank gear.

    If you poor like me;

Tanking was a bigger priority for me than killing so I ditched the calamitys at 80 and got lion kings...more dex = better acc + recovers 5% HP every 5 or so hits. (this was b4 fleshream became a no miss skill btw).

If u rich enough at 85 get the Pan Gu's axe. Nice wep, decent damage, good HP and -20% dmg is awesome!

If you want more dmg, stay with calamitys till 90. Then get TT90 golds if u can afford em, or get star axes.

If you planning to eventually become a claw barb, u might as well stay with calamitys throughout and save yourself some str.

If not then at 99 get TT99 ans start down the nirvana axe path.
When the going gets tough; Get a tank!

Calams have excellent hp/vit adds. For some people the sac strike scare them away, for others its a huge bonus. Myself, I had plenty of hp for surviving and I was more worried about tanking (holding aggro) so I went with the calams. You can think of the Sac Strike as a 20% boost in damage, meaning they out DD any other TT70 or TT80 axes, and even some of the FCC 85/Legendary axes. Basically, Calams last you for 20 levels.

11 vit x 15hp per vit = 165 hp. 185 more hp add = 350 hp. In tiger form that's about +500 more hp. This is very useful for pulls because you only attack 1-3 times per pull, meaning Pan Gu's are likely to never proc. If you are using Calams and sacrificial strike procs that means you lose 5% hp but mobs die sooner, mobs that would have likely delt much more than 5% damage. Granted PGGA's give 15 vit and 205 hp but cost 15mil and Calams are basically free. Gatherstorm's are also an excellent axe and what I went for at 85. About the same DD as calam's, provide less hp but recover hp instead of lose it. Not an issue when there is a cleric around (if 5% hp every 5 hits is killing you then you have bigger issues) but nicer when your are soloing.

So Calam's until 90 unless you feel your aggro is more secure than your hp and go PGGA to cover your hp/Gatherstorms. Calloused Lionhearts at 90, Rank 8 at 100, Rank9 after that.

Got rid of them for Heraldry Axes and am much happier. 20*5% is 100% regardless of how much HP you have. No problems holding aggro now, and much better at surviving.

Heraldy Axes are basically auto-fail in my book. If a barb is so squishy that he's afraid of a 5% hp loss and would give up his ability to hold aggro to prevent it then that's a sign you should avoid that barb. Not to mention the lower refine rate.

5% hp every 5 hits, >1 second per hit= about 2 mins for 100%. Hopefully your cleric will heal you once every 2 mins. If you are using heraldy axes you probably won't get that heal because someone else will be tanking. Plus, Calams give you more hp to start with so 5% hp loss means you still have more hp than heraldy axes.

If u quest/grind dont get TT 80s or pan gu, but get them cheap..... if u only do bhs dont bother getting nothing untill 90( if u think pan gu is exepensive) at 90 get the cheapest u can find and then go rank 8 .....

Really lvling is so fast nowadays that geting good gear before 100 is a waste...

Fyi : instead of wasting 5, 7, 10, mil on an axe u can pay to powerlvling.... or even on a rank 8 fund...

I didn't mention I have no aggro holding issues?
