So I have a question to pose.
First background:
I've been playing caster all my life and find it hard to play as meele. But lately I've developed a love for swords/blades/claymores etc.., they are just so cool to look at and useb:dirty(influenced by an anime called claymore)
Since seekers came out they've sparked my intrest w/ their meele and mid-dmg, range metal casting skills. from what i know they are a HA class but that' about it.b:surrender
The Question:
How has your exp. w/ a seeker been? Give me all the details from TW to PVP and everything in between. Do you find yourself tanking often? Your most common skill rotations? what's your culti(demon or sage) and how/why'd you choose it?What are they types of seekers you've seen?(i.e. all dmg, vit heavy, mix,LA) and some pwi clac builds would be niceb:cute
all responses welcome ^.^

The three L's Love, Life and Light! Love those who love you back unconditionally. Live life the way you envision. And light a path that others would want to follow.
I've done two of them...don't try to guess xpb:kissb:cute

The way our stats go we have room for high vit and able to wear ha or la armour.
with play style we can be up front taking damage with the barb or hide with the casters dding and debuffing.
I'm the same way with my alts start them and get bored
Seeker is a fast XP class by 59 you can solo aoe grind at 80 you can do FC pulls.
Don't know much about pvp other then Gemini is your main k0 skill.(1-2 hit sins ftw)0 -
I don't have much experience in PvP and none in TW so I can't compare them, but I figure a seeker would be pretty good in both due to high defense and plentiful AoE's. We can kill sins pretty well too as one of our 2 spark AoE's can be cast without a target, meaning if they try to tele-stun you or stealth you can still hit them.
As far as playstyle goes for PvE I think you would enjoy seeker more than barb/bm/sin. Unlike a high APS class we require more attention in fights than simply auto-attacking as we have lots of good skills to spam. We possess alot of debuffs too that you can use and stances to switch between to lower enemy attack and defense levels, all of which mean active involvement. Also when you get vortex maxed and herb yuanxiao so you can hold it permanantly you become a godly AoE DD. We can't tank as well as barbs due to no high-aggro generating skill like flesh ream, but our survivability is very good with a bit of vitality invested or some good shards and refines.
In terms of builds and culti - the best culti (in my opinion, and most would say the same) is sage. As we aren't APS the demon spark attack speed bonus is less useful, and sage has some amazing skills. To name but a few - sage adrenal numbness gets you up to 35 defense levels, sage heartseeker has a 75% chance to immobilize, sage stances have increased proc rates, sage unfetter grants immunity to slow and stun for a short time.... the list goes on and on. Builds is a little more debatable but LA is worthless in my opinion, we are a heavy armour class. If you need mdef get it from ornaments but the armour should be heavy. End-game build is a minimum of 155 dex for the swords, then the rest in vit and str, with the bias on str for damage. Lots of seekers cap their vit at around 50 or so, I have mine at 60 but may restat lower when I finish my gear.
this is my build, gear is very much a work in progress. I'm still after a TM cape, better neck, rank 8 boots and hands, better belt, higher refines and shards etc...

Like I said its a work in progress!
Give seeker a go, but the gameplay in early levels is very melee oriented as you don't have that many really good skills, and not many strong AoEs. It eats pots like mad to begin with, but I found it well worth it in the end.0 -
well for me has been good so far.... Good damage not only u lower the resistance of metal, earth, fire, water, physical, and wood at your opponent but u change your battle style in combat anytime... In pvp u can make sins pop out from their *** stealth mode.. Not only u got attack lvl buff and defense but when R9 seeker armor comes out any seeker will own...
On TW not sure havent try it yet but my guess is that u help the heavy nukers like mages and archer to kill the other toons way faster....
How can u build a seeker.... Well first I started with 3 on strenght and 2 on dex but later on at lvl 60 I started putting vit on it 3 on vit and 2 on strenght now my seeker is lvl 91 with 7.7k on hp unbuffed
P.S. LOVE anime too...
Also if u wonder about what weapon u should have try to get the TT100 or nirvana one until R9 weapon is out....0 -
I've had a lot of fun on mine. I personally don't PvP (I'm a carebear and proud of it b:victory), but TW, I've seen plenty of successful Seekers (like Deaths_Door from Vertu; he's a beast... 1 shots me all the time x.x) Anyway, the best build I can give for Lv 101 is 305 Str, 50 Vit, and 160 Dex, and the Dex is mainly for the extra crit %; why just stop at 155, when you can add 5 more measley points and get more crit chances?
It's fun, and admittedly tough at times, but I don't regret choosing it.b:surrender I admit to feeding trolls. b:surrender
...however, in my defense, said food WAS poisoned! b:sin0 -

I also have a venomancer and switched to playing a seeker. It's a completely different class and playstyle, but both a lot of fun ^^ (and I love that anime too xD ) I notice now I start playing my venomancer a bit more as my seeker... grabbing agro from phys mobs, aoe-ing everything in sight and spamming hp food to stay alive(which seeker luckily doesn't have to do o.o)
Anyways... My experience with playing a seeker has been quite fun. They start out pretty squishy(potion addicts ._.) especially if you compare to a venomancer the repair costs and potion-costs will scare you at the beginning. It'll get better later on though
I haven't been in any TW's, but I have done some pvp with faction mates in sp xD They were all moderately around my lvl and sure did have a hard time killing me xD kiting against melee's is your best friend
I do tank quite some, I tanked most of the times in fb39 and 51. I mostly squad with a friend of mine who plays a psychic though, so she tanked all the magic bossesb:cute
I've tanked nob and pole too... but that was with a lvl 100 cleric and.. well at the very least scary... b:sad
I don't really have any skill rotations... ._." though anything that runs gets a heartseeker smashed in... On bosses where I have to tank it's usually staggering or battousai to catch it, poke it untill soulsever procs, debuff it with shatters and gemini and then throw in either another staggering(with proc) or vortex.
I'm personally going for sage. I notice I have trouble getting easy chi, but I also like the sage skills more.
Seeker types I've seen so far is str. and vit. build. I'm personally a vit. build, but will restat later once I got my endgame gear together and high enough refines.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It's my first fully leveled DD class. For years I was a mage/healer class user. I loved it so much, I broke the whole class down to a science, and broke many molds with it. I've seen all types of seekers, and I try to forget the ones that made us look bad.
From about 1 to 90, I duo'd with a mystic, and tanked/fought pretty much everything that usually has a full squad. When someone said they can't do something because they are a seeker, I tell them they can, because I've done it.
I never really had fun with my other classes(Mystic, Cleric, BM, Barb, Veno, Wizard, Sin) but I had LOADS of it with seeker. It's like a drug..0 -
I totally agree with Alsia.
For 2 years I played Cleric, and I thought I'm a dumbass to play melee class. I've tried bm, barb, sin, everything, but I simply couldn't play with them. Then the seeker came out, and after a LOT of thinking and over-complicating-the-game, I started one. Then, after 3-4 hours I realized, gosh I'm still playing with it. That's awesome.
I loved the fact that they use aoe and melee attacks as well. Seeker doesn't die if the mob gets closer, but it's not in trouble when it comes to ranged attack. And they can be very very op. As previously said, we have many choices to build our character which also gives freedom. Personally I'm building a tank with HA.
And... as a girl, it was an important point, how fashion looks on a seeker...

Fabulous.b:chuckle0 -
before may, i had taken a one year break of pwi (was getting bored with it). When i came back, two friends wanted to start a EG each and quest together. I said yes and started my seeker.
i'm still playing it non stop and i think i pown so much things its awesome b:victory
Long range mobs, close range mobs.....does not matter lol, both die without me trying to put effort in it. Has i say often, seeker make barb look squishy sometimes lol b:laughAnd... as a girl, it was an important point, how fashion looks on a seeker...
