Unspoken rules of dueling

Are genies wrong to use in duels? Before I thought that even a lvl 1 player could have a lvl 100 genie. But if not, why shouldn't you use them. They're just a tool, right? Next people are gonna say I shouldn't heal myself. Lol I have a full vit genie with explosion. I use it with mobs and now that I duel more I've started using it there as well, but people don't seem to like that I can do that much damage without moving. And if not for DD is it okay for you to use them to heal in a duel?

And sins stealthing. Do you think it's right that they can do a lot of damage and then slink away to come back for more when they please? I don't like it, but I do see how it's a part of their class. I just don't duel a sin, because they whip my ***.

If there are any other unspoken rules, please let me know. Thank you.

    I use everything i have in duels: genies, pets, pots, skills. No rules for me, i duel to win.

    "I dont like the method you are using to win so you cannot use it. My method however is excellent so I can use mine" <-- half the duelers in the game.

    I use whatever I have available. I tend not to use apoth or genie unless my opponent does or I need to (Facing a strong opponent I cannot defeat without for instance) but I really dont give a **** if you do use it.

    Only thing banned in duels in this game is charms, hence why they dont work.

    If it can be used to win and/or offends your opponent, you are not allowed to use it in a duel.

    This means no healing, attacking, using gear, wearing fashion, logging on, etc.

    yes, as a general rule there are. genies can be used for everything BUT healing. no apoth. generally no flying if it's obv a ground fight. magic potions are okay, but no healing except by character skill. them be the rules. :O b:beatup

    i generally dont use genies and pots as i view those as not part of the class. Everything else goes.

    This, although I do very much enjoy no holds barred duels, I always ask because this is the general view of duels. only skills native to the class. :P It's like an unspoken rule and there is nothing wrong with asking first. That way it's fun for all involved and they can't complain if you win. b:chuckle

    Sure use Genies, there are not unfair no no no, Use Dragonfire with a Full STR Genie on any AA player u see (maybe LA too) and oh snap you have won. Very fair isn't it. But tbh some Combos are just impossible to survive in a duel, especially when we are talking about Psys and Wizards =P if you got at least a minimum clue about these classes you'll know what I mean. NO chance W/O Absolute Domain for example ^^ Fair duels are as follows: Both just use whatever their classes allow them e.g. skills and something, no genie, no pots, no apo, just your plain skills and skill and w/o chi of course. that would be the fairest thing with all possible class constellations.

    No maybe, no asking questions, Tested and approved with all classes xD. Period.

    For me, pots + genies are a waste of coin/stamina in duels. It's your loss if you use it to win a duel. Duels don't mean anything anyway.

    PK is different, no rules in PK.

    Off topic: Stormhydra that is an awesome animated signature!

    On topic: The way I look at it, is everyone gets a genie. If you decide not to use it your own business/fault. People have started getting really ****** though because mine does so much damage. Asking isn't a bad idea, though (I would put your name but I'm on my phone and I don't trust it enough to open two tabs without a good wi-fi connection. lol)

    To avoid massive QQ you should both decide and agree to the rules you wanna set on the duel.


    Once that step is done you wont see any "legit" QQ.


    If you wanna duel with genie and your opponents doesnt, just dont duel.

    A psychic once told me healing, using pets, and using plants are all cheating.

    And that his voodoo's, his heals, his souls are completely fair.

    I was like -.-;;;;; and I still one shot him with Absorb soul.

    But really, You'll have people QQ over anything... esp on these carebear servers where a lot of people only joined it because they failed massively at PvP.

    I don't pvp or duel as its a waste of my coins cuz it breaks my armor e.e

    thats why I hate duels. forget duels, go pk and let them QQ about "broken rules" as much as they want. duels is more like friendly fight. pk is more about agresion, when you dont care what your oponent think, you only want to see him dead.

    since dueling has no reward, etc, its not as important to set rules. however, u can do watever you want. you can difinitely use any skill you have+any genie skills. pots and food, that should be decided before the duel starts. ignore losers who tell clerics that they cant heal during duels. they r just ignorant, and might as well tell archers to not use arrows.
    the loser fail nab cleric from dreamweaver who quit pwi, but still wanders the forums.

    lol when i was lvl 60 this lvl 80 bm challenged me. So i spamed IH and used plume and kicked his ***. Then he says "you no heal this time." So i used plume shell and beat him again. Then he says "you no plume cheater" so we went again, and i beat him again without heals and plume shell. GF bro. Then he said "cash shopper ****" Dude really i was in NPC gear.

    If they wish to add special conditions beforehand, then so be it, but the only rule that matters is that the last (wo)man standing is the victor anyways.

    whatever, use whatever you have to win, they want a fight, lets fight, you want an auto win, let them stunlock you and there, you win.

    I use genie a lot in duels, and more against bms, sins and even clerics, when the duel is about who can stunlock before the other can, it's the only way.

    Else a cleric fighting a r8 +10 or higher sin would always lose, not to mention they have that "ima save my *** from 1 hit", as well as the "you cannot stun me but i can stun you" skill, as well as the "i will stealth away until your shell goes away so it's easy for me to 1 hit you".

    See how it is, deal with it.

    See this is why I hate duels. People get so ******n picky as to what they want in the duel. When I duel is always about winning. Yes Sin are an OP class and 1v1 is our specielty. Its not my fault the class I chose normally wins b:bye. I dueled this cleric one time(she started the duel o.O)...and I was like so just whatever to win right? and she was like "yes". So as soon as the duel started I stealthed and buffed up double sparked and one shotted her lol. she didn't complain at all and dueled me again. she didnt lean her lesson I guess so I did it again....and again she dueled me again. I was like O.o...what is it with this chick....so I decided to not stealth as it was getting boreing....opened with a stun got her HP almost all the way down. when she used AD holy pathed away....I just teled stuned her and won. She didnt say anything and...guess what..dueld me again. this time she sleped me right away and one shotted me........

    it was extremly high vit(and reallly OP) genie, but she also waited a few too.

    I've always thought that the only rules were no pots and determine beforehand if genies are allowed or not. Everything else goes.

    1st of all who stated these rules, I wanna punch him/her in the face lol, duels are a fail attempt of PVP/PK anyway. People don't QQ when you use genie, charm, pots etc. in PK o_o why would they QQ in duels, its the same **** but with 1 person only.

    LOL all i know people usually say in duels are:

    -Why do u heal, u noob?
    -Don't heal!
    -Don't use genie!
    -Don't sleep -.-!
    -Don't stun (actually freeze, but most people don't know what that debuff is...)
    -Don't SPARK u fail!!!

    And OMG i spark after u sparked... Second am i allowed to attack pls, or i shouldnt do that either? :(

    So if u want to duel, don't make stupid rules, like those i said. >.>

    i rarely duel, because usually its just an obnoxious PKer who's bored and thinks im easy picking for his dance card. and i dont want to waste my charms that way. but sometimes my kids and i do duel when our charms are about to croak anyway. i know im going to get killed anyway- kill my pet, and im toast. but its fun to suprise them by going trueform, and hit them with Purge....poof go all the other player's buffs! ^_^
