Best PvP server myth, LC is not better than HL at all, same thing

Seriously, where did that idea come from? Have people been to Lost City? All they do is hug SZ for HOURS. I have yet to find some good PvP there. Either that or tea parties. Where's the oh so called hate, skilled, older and experienced PvP? lololol there are even some days I find 2x more active PvP in Harshlands than in LC.
So, yeah, PvP in LC is just as good/bad as in HL.
P.S: There's nothing more funny and depressing than going out on West Gate and see like 15 people there, just to find out that 7 of them are blue names.

That's because thanks to how PWI has changed, 99% of the people who are outside a safe zone and not in an instance are stealthed assassins you won't see on your level 1 alt to see what the other server is like.
Prior to that, LC genuinely had better overall PK just from the fact of it being an older PvP server with more people on it who had been PKing for longer and had more experience. It's far more likely you'll have skill when you were PKing well at a time where calamities were considered top-notch axes that could be used into endgame than if you started PKing after hypering to 105 and swiping a credit card for a set of +12 R9 on your assassin, for example.
Oh and the blue names? They're there to steal drops for the $$.0 -

truekossy, I know what you mean and I agree. When I joined PWI, it was like early 2009, in 2010 i took a break and just recently was checking things out. I was in Lost City, and I used to have fun PvPing. But nowadays, it has changed, and it's gotten pretty bad. There are moments when you go to silver pool or west gate in LC, and there's NO ONE pking. It just feels as if LC is nothing special anymore. Now HL and LC are the exact same thing, regarding everything: drama, trolls, pvp, etc.0

That's because the game is on it's death throes.
PVP died in mid-late 2010, starting several months after recuperating after the massive ragequit from the 1st Anniversary there was good PvP again, for a short time.
Almost all of the really epic PvP battles on LC were before 2010.
In 2010, most of the long, memorable battles were at world bosses.
Horrible mismanagement destroyed the game.
LC is better at drama (with the exception of QQme disbanding). HL has kinkier girls. b:dirty
Oh, and for the first year or so of the server, HL was definitely much smaller than LC, but after that there was actually more activity on HL for a while.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

The situation on HL is the exact same as you described...2010 there were still some incredibly epic battles, with multiple factions fighting it out at a time in West gate....prior to the packs we had reliable pvp at most of the common WQ spots...30+ person battles at grind spots...
Then came BH, FC, hypers, which relegated pvp to west arch or SP, then assasins were introduced, which removed the existence of pvp altogether...so now we only have TW.
Then came R9, and TW now becomes a crystal walk for the faction with R9's.
I wonder what else PWI can do to remove fun and add monetization at the cost of long term profitability to the game?
My spending pattern has seen an exponential drop as these "monetization" design decisions were added to the game. They are now currently earning $0 / month average from me for the year of 2011, despite all the many "incentives" to spend money in this game.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I replied to the 7th topic on the 1st page of mystic forums, and got reported for necro. Plz save mystic forums.0 -

I think server was still pretty active after 1st anni packs. My opinion is that what killed PvP were BHs and Frost in general. Back in the days in 2009/2010 ppl used to massively do wq as it was 200k exp per day. The real epic PvP was not at WB, but at vol 28/29, at fishes, at butterflies, at undines, etc. With BH, frost and HYPERS (sic!), ppl didnt need to make zhen parties, do wq, because there were easier ways to make exp, without risking to be crashed. PvP had rly a goal - because ppl wanted to lvl, finish quest, so it was pushing them to fight. Right now You have PvP at west/silverpool where 2 sparked sins with immune pots just make "normal" classes dont want to pvp at all. When You get zerged You can just leave, because it really doesnt matter, next time You will zerg.Because size really MATTERS!!!0 -
I realize I'm just on a wimpy little PvE server, but the situation you're describing is the same here.
In 2009-2010 I'd get somebody trying to kill be roughly every couple of weeks or so. It made questing (remember those?) a lot more fun and interesting.
Nowadays, though, I literally have not been attacked outside of Cube for about 9 months. The closest I've seen is occasionally somebody runs up to me, checks my gear, sees I've got a few high-end items, and runs away.
Heck, I've even had people trash-talking about how they're gonna go get their alt and come back and slaughter me (after I killed their bot), but nothing ever comes of it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Yeah, there WAS epic PvP at those places, back in 08-09-ish. By 2010 the only real fun PvP was mostly at world bosses. Sure, there were a few good battles in OHT, 3rd map, the boat... and a time or two at Anglers and by Immolation, maybe even a good battle or two in hell but all the zhen spots were dead by 2010. Just saying.
And, by 2010... sometime between Anniversary and TB, a whole bunch of people had quit. Jan-Mar of 2010 was a ghost town pretty much, but by summer had picked up again, but not like it was in 09. The whole total population of LC never really recovered...
I don't really disagree with anything else you said though.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
