You may or may not have seen this thread already:

http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1210281

So....we would like you, the Venomancer population, to vote on the name of this here pet.

http://i51.tinypic.com/w6sbvn.jpg

Some like Kowlin, some Dharma, and some Guan Hai, and rather than leave it to little ol' me, I'd much rather ask the people who will be spending the most time with it to name it.

So please make your choice, and this poll will close on Monday!

Idk, would be cool to have a more Englishy name if the intention of this thread is to rename the pet or something.

It's blue, and it looks like a species of jaguar mixed with something canine. It's also armoured. Maybe:

    Azuwar Plainstalker.
    Armoured Bluehound.
    Blue Lithecat
    Skymessenger's Huntdog

Idk, something like that. Have fun, w/e \o/

EDIT: Also, franky, any news on the veno herc request? Considering that it's one of the single most expensive items in the game, in the interest of slightly happier players, has there been any attempt to request that the devs improve the stats of the Baby Hercules to be able to tank bosses which it currently can't, such as 2-3 Wurlord? Assassins kill TT bosses in less than 5 minutes; Venos stand up healing for up to 20 minutes on some bosses. Would the idea of a Herc attack-damage boost seem plausible to you, frankie? Especially given the cost of the item, naturally.

What about requests to help venos feel a little less left behind with the introduction of assasins, like improving the attack stats of the Baby Pheonix, or adding pet refinement? It's been said over and over that the Baby Pheonix has not scaled to current endgame PvP competitiveness. This affects both players on PvP and PvE servers due to the fact that both classes of player enjoy Territory Wars.

We already know that venos will never get Bramble in open PvP. But our 2 spark skill Bramble Hood requires 2 sparks to use; and we don't get the reflect effect in open PK. What moves have there been to say, make the veno skill set more usable, or more current? Say, reduce the chi cost of Bramble Hood from 2 sparks to maybe 30 chi? Because we don't actually get the 200% melee reflect, which is the reason it's considered overpowered, and thus why it takes 2 sparks to cast?

If no moves have been made in any of these directions, although these ideas have been brought up before, is there going to be any attempt at all to at least propose these ideas to the devs?
Valhalla disband. That is all \o/

I didn't play from the very beginning, so I haven't heard of this 'Dharma' before..
Beside, that name is not so suitable with the ferocious appearance of the pet itself..

I guess Kowlin is better, simply because that's the first name that I heard about this pet.

tbh if there were another choices on the poll maybe I won't pick Kowlin as it's not a great name either..

    b:thanks

I wish it would be named as it was named in the PW Philippines server...Black Fang

But as for the choices it has in the poll I'd go for Kowlinb:victory

A Kowlin is a Kowlin, renaming it is rather pointless, they'd be better off making Earthguard mobs tamable tbh, far better use of their time.

Thanks for putting up this pool Frankie

Dharma come form the PW-MY version of the game, so I don't feel it belongs here.

Guan Hai, I have no idea where this comes from (Chinese version original name I guess?)

But since it was called Kowling before, I think that name should remains.

Anyway, since most venos rename their pets, it's not really a major issue b:chuckle

Too bad it won't ever be like this, a lot of patches are localization changes... I believe which change names which don't end up fitting if the client ever changes again... as it does a lot.

Kowlin is Kowlin , most venos know it like that , the changed name gives much confusion , so lets return to the old one.

Also why the hell Acephalic Death Knights are called Headless Knights , the first name was so cool x_X

A lot of the longer mob names got changed because they wouldn't fit on one line in the new interface... witness this week's name change for Fugma and Kashu.

LOL I remember when this happend..
my friend had a Kowlin without a nickname so when it was changed to 'Guan Hai' she got a pet collar and renamed it Kowlin.

I'd just go with Kowlin, since it was the name I knew since I first joined and sounds the best in my opinion.

Rofl, all this QQ for a name that can be changed back using a Pet Collar. I didn't even notice it since I had renamed it to "Oreo" a long time ago.

That being said the inconsistency and random renaming of Pets and other items can cause a great deal of confusion. Especially since I have noticed that Auction House, Quest and NPC descriptions don't always mirror the changes.

There's been a significant amount of fixes to the rubber banding issues. It's easy enough to cast them all into one lot, but it's not that simple. There are fewer rubber banding now than ever, and while it's possible that the issue never goes away, it's a disservice to say that nothing's been done about it.

You know they can't do that. PWE, as a wholly owned subsidiary of PW China, doesn't get to pick and choose what patches get applied.

It's a known fact that PWE is a lazy company when it comes to things like fixes and updates.
Yes I am aware that they get most (if not all) of their new content directly from BPW but that is not an excuse for this kind of disappointment.

Perfect World has maintained it's spot as one of the most popular MMORPGS of all time in China and that is solely based on their better management.

It's not even a secret how BPW practically threatened to shut PWE down if they didn't pull out the +11&12 orbs from the boutique.
