We all know that Rank 9 is the most powerful in game gear, but, looking at things like they are now, it is obtainable only by cash shopping or farming coins.
But it was calculated in previous posts that you need unreal amounts of money to have them by real money, and even more to buy them from coins.

My thought is: PWi has obviously made the rank 9 to gain from the boutique. But once the player has spent his/her money on it and fully made his/her set, why should he/she buy something else, since he/she has the most powerful gear? The same concept can be linked to the other boutique items. If you get the fashions that you like, if you get the most beautiful mount that you find, if you have the most powerful gear in the game refined, if you then get what you want from the game, even by buying it, why should you spend on the game anymore? Even if you'd want to buy every single boutique's items, at one point you will reach a limit.

I know that until you will arrive to this point, you'll have spent a lot of money, but this doesn't make so much to a company. A company has big outgoings. So after all there is something that they can't effort, and that is the moment in which the player can't buy anything else because he/she has completed his/her character, or obtained what he wanted.

Considering that real news are not so frequent and that the majority of times there are only sales of already existing items, there should be a lack of time in which they shouldn't make profit out of the game, or at least not so much.

    Rank 9 alone are quite some thousand of dollars.

    Add the refine cost.

    Add the other 4 pieces missing (5 with ring that is not r8).

    Add refine on those pieces.

    Add pack addiction to get that particular tome/neck/helm.



    Thats already a freaking nice ammount of money spent by just 1 person    .

    The time/money spent after r9 is toward +12 and shards. Then depending on how fast you farm/how much you can cash shop each month there is a period of time after you have obtained your gear that your coin/money goes toward novelty items such as fashion/packs ect.

    ....Then the next thing comes out. Perhaps r10. Wash, Rinse, Repeat. There will never be an endgame set of gear as long as the game is running. The next best set of equipment is around the corner as we speak, in the form of r9 recast.

    I didnt mention that cuz the next step (r9 reroll) is not on CS at the moment.

    Look at it this way....If they fool you into buying rank 9+12 to keep up with the rest of the guys who have too much money(an not enough brains) , then they don't need anymore money from you as you have already made the game wildly more profitable than they ever expect a game to be.

    example, how many games do you see that cost 2500$+ to buy for any console game? How many other games that are online really expect you to spend that much (ie in thier business model)?

    It's just like every other major MMO. The bar for whats endgame gear will constantly be raised.

    And to be honest....people spend that kind of money even for pay to plays. Except instead of a cashop theres Ebay. b:chuckle

    actaully it is in cash shop like 2 years now as you can get wedding candy to get mats for the reroll but the turn in isnt here yes you will need 90k tokens for the wedding candy dont know how much $ it is but its cheaper to jsut buy normal tokens

    You're right here, but to reroll r9 is actually in the cs atm since it is the gen tokens needed. We just don't know how many are needed atm, so not many people are buying them to prepare.

    Or by merchanting. My (evil) girlfriend and I just each purchased our full Rank 9 sets thanks to merchanting, and we still have billions saved up for refining, sharding, future recast, etc...

    Granted, it has taken us years of cat-shopping to be able to afford it, but 3 years of effort seems reasonable for the best gear in the game.

    Those two statements are somewhat contradictory.

    "Unreal" prices are what prevent the problem of people who have managed to buy everything. So it's not that Rank 9 prices are "unreal" at all. They're actually quite affordable, both by paying players and by free players, which is why people are running out of things to buy.

    Which, of course, leads PWI to pull the D.Orb Mirage and Flame from the cash-shop and the devs to start working on Rank 8 / 9 recasting. As long as they keep adding something new to buy then the problem goes away.

    Honestly the damn r9s only tw and toss each other around in pvp zones. They got so lazy they barely leave instances to do anything except whine they need to actually farm. Sorry but R9 is just another look at me bunch of ****. Anyone can swip a credit card but the real players grind it out.
