I mean - how is it even possible?
Here are some screenies:

http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/1240/86526222.jpg
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/6607/24633107.jpg

Besides, as you can clearly see -- I am not able to message back to that person, because he's stated "offline".

THIS I've had for approx. 2 weeks already.

Doesn't make any sence, when names are filtered, does it?
Excuse me for being Captain Obvious but how can you let a person register with an obscene name to begin with, then?
Not mentioning a very good chunk of the rest of absolutely non-obscene vocabulary (including the mistery of filtering anything that's related to j*a*p*a*n).

Summing it rougly up, my recent chat screen looks like:

G**dP**son: H*w is everyb**y f**ing t**ay? (I exaggerated a bit, but it looks very close weird-wise).

GMs? Please explain.
And look into it.

Take a notice that the owner of the name on the screenshot is obviously having problems with it. So it's not only me, not happy with it.

Well yeah. It's too obvious they did.
    Just perfect.
Another tweak like this and we'll need some professional text-decypherers to interact.

You think this is bad? Ive been on Rusty Hearts the past day and couldnt even type the word "button" when I was explaining to a friend on the controls.

PWE doesnt seem to get that one or two patrolling GMs per game would work miles better than these pathetic filters that still dont work.

I don't think the Rusty Hearts filter has anything to do with PWE's decisions. If you notice, a-s-s isn't filtered, but b-u-t-t is (even in the form of "but the"). However, this isn't the proper forum to discuss that.

This is something I'll bring to frankie's attention immediately, thanks for the report.

lol i love pwi's filter... even the thorny herbs outside Telus are censored.. in the quest text no less if i'm not mistaken. at one point i believe i seen "T***** Herb" when i mouseovered the actual herbs too..

PWI needs to come up with an INTELLIGENT filter system.. if they just keep adding words into the badwords list file, things will just get worse.. we've already had accounts and characters become inaccessible due to the filter updates (which i think they fixed since) i'm guessing they added "WWW" to the badwords list to fight the gold spammers but now anyone with a triple W in their name is censored, which i think this shado***s may in fact be named Shadowwws? (hey, i've seen some pretty weird char names in my time, it could be)

I like how I posted a way for you guys to fix the filter and you don't bother reading about it.
    Btw, it's so a 5 minute fix.

I think the issue is more based on the fact people need a workaround to play the game.

Auto correct changed workaround to workout =/

The issue is people shouldn't have to download a third party fix for an issue as obvious as this one.

And if PWI somehow finds out about it, then you get banned. Or did you forget that altering or changing any of the game files is a bannable offense.
Don't get me wrong, I personally don't agree with the rule(I support .ini edited characters and being able to change the ingame music, among other things), and your method is a nice band-aid.

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.

Perhaps you should do some research on how easy it is to hijack a program like Sandbox to steal your info. All it takes is a simple trojan or a dummy copy and you lose your account and alot more.

    ROFL

The frontline in IT security devolopment is usually 6-10 months behind what hackers are doing. Why? Because the hackers do it and then it takes numerous reports and problems from users to bring the problem to light, then it takes even longer to come up with a solution.

You obviously are overly trusting of your http or https the world wide wep is a dangerous place you should take hold of your mommy's hand before a big bad strange steals you candy.

Why is everyone so paranoid about viruses? I've been using computers for like 15 years now and I've never had anything that my virus scanner didn't quarantine instantly anyway (unless of course you're not smart enough to see the difference between dodgy websites and real ones. Hint: the dodgy ones say everything is free and you will get a free babe with every order)

And what makes you think frankie's personal computer would be in any way linked to the PWI servers o.=
Pretty sure even he isn't thick enough to download a random file to a bank of servers.
