Forum titles

Just a thought, we should be able to have forum titles other then "Perfect World User", so far aside from gm's and mods i've only ever seen one player with a title, magichamsta, who had the title "rodent of the north" i believe, mind you that was way back before the "Great coup" a year or so back.. but still, got me thinking, maybe gms/mods can give us the opportunity to set up a custom forum title, possibly through a submission system where it will be reviewed by staff prior to being implemented, or even make it based on your forum post count, where a certain number of posts will trigger a new title, ie a post count of over 2000 will trigger the title "Chatterbox" or something. now yes i know this has been discussed before but all the threads ive found are over a year old and i reeeeally hate necro'n stuff.

    Astrelle and Dorset I believe both also have forum titles. I kinda like that you have to win contests and such to get custom forum titles. If they ever did this, it wouldn't be special anymore. :P I think the post count thing wouldn't be so bad though, with custom titles given to those who win contests and such. I mean we're already allowed signatures, I'd much rather they work on something else.

    Asterelle does, Dorset does, yea. Also our team from the PWIC got titles and MagicHamsta has one too xD So do the guys who won the mystic/seeker forum description contest. I'm pretty sure I'm still missing someone but well :)

    As much as I'd like to have a funny title, I agree with Venus, it's something you gotta earn^^ And it's way funnier too than giving one to yourself xD

    I don't know. Titles can be one of many things, but they normally are a colossal waste of time to set up, maintain, and fix when they magically revert to default.

    Seeing how the GM's can't keep up with tickets, I don't see how they would be able to keep up with forum title requests, and they are hell-bent on not giving the forum moderators any actual powers, so that's out.

    There are more with custom titles.
    Felizia has one since she was the winner of Kephras New Arrival Video Contest.
    The winners of Mr. Raye's contest to find lines for the EG class subforums received also titles.
    And some assassin once had the title 'PWI's Chicken Little'... cannot remember who exactly it was though...

    So I agree with most of the people in here that we shouldn't be given the ability to give titles to ourself. And well, with gaining different titles based on post counts... that's so common nowadays that it isn't really fun.

    I think the best way to achieve some are the randomly given titles by our dear administrators; and those which go hand in hand with community contests from the player base.

    I just wouldnt mind a title along the lines of "Helpful Tech Geek" or something when i post in the tech support section, as i do try to be as helpful as possible :)

    Why not request a signature or make one yourself? If you go to the fantatics forum, there are a lot of people there who enjoy making other people signatures. The best part about them is you change them to suit your mood, and they can have images. :)

    as a exMod on many forums (MadCats, InterAct, Action Replay, GameShark, just to name a few) I know the admins of the board can simply just go to your profile and edit whatever they want to and assign titles. I've done it as a mod on some boards cause i had rights as a mod to do so to get rid of unquestionable material from peoples signatures and profiles when they wanted to be pissy and sometimes only the admin can do it.

    when on the boards where the admins had to do it, they either had a topic to request titles or a certain person in charge you could pm and request one. as for doing it here, they have the ability but whether they wanted to eat up their time doing it would be entirely up to them
