Sales with no end date announced - a pole (that I hit you with)

Sasha, good catch, though unfortunately that was a mistake - 3 weeks from today is not the correct end date for that sale. The text has been removed, and I'm sorry about the mistake.

As for why we aren't revealing the end date in the first place, it's something that PWE wanted to try. Some stores do occasionally run sales without giving an end date, so I think PWE wanted to see what would happen if we did the same.

If you really are against this practice, you can definitely submit a ticket, or continue to let us know through the forums.
Vote, whatever.

Wow that's pretty disrespectful to the players. How are people supposed to plan to acquire anything if PWE can remove the item at any time without notice?

If PWE wants to go down this road they should be required to provide at least a 1 week notice before removing any of these indefinite sales.

Horrible idea, I usually end up waiting till towards the end of a sale to buy/charge gold (charge if I didn't have time enough to grind enough to buy from others) so not knowing sucks.

Hope I make it in time I wanna get my psy ready for r8 maybe r9 one day b:surrender

I voted, "HATE", but overall I'd say it's more like just really annoying.

My feelings about it are sort of like why I really dislike shopping at stores that insist you have one of their annoying Club Cards: I can live with it, and force myself to work with it if I have to, but given a choice I'd rather not do business with them if their marketing strategy is to jerk me around by being deliberately inconvenient.

It's better this way. Ya'll are boring if you must plan every single thing.

Get it while it's there, no regret. Always have money saved up for surprise sales. Don't just be crying all over the forums.

Well, I guess you don't watch the market carefully enough. The prices aren't always constant. You won't always pay the same price for the same item during the same sale, depends on when you buy it. Gold will always spike on the first few days of the sale, then level off if the sale is longer than a couple of weeks, then rises back up as sale is about to end. Knowing how long a sale is can save you quite a bit of money if you are buying something as expensive as R9. But who cares about us f2p players, it's the same for CSers.

Its just an annoyance more than anything.

We all know what day of the week sales end/start, so I just assume these open-ended ones will end on any given Tuesday. I have the catshops/gold all set in case it does end, if not and its still there after maint, then I know I have at least another week, great, and continue on for another week.
I don't think its the end of the world, but it is an annoyance having to prepare every week in assumption that a sale might end.

This "non dated end" for the sale, is due to there cash plummet, not because "business's like to try it out" lol.

They're getting desperate for cash for this game and will seriously try anything, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they actually start selling gear directly in the cash shop and not through packs/tokens.

    http://www.google.com/finance?cid=717303
Just look at that, make sure to left click on the chart and hold, then scroll outwards till you can see where the cash used to be at a high, then from the 4th (the night of maint when packs were tossed in), you can see that the bar is going ever so slightly up, let's see how long it lasts.

I think we need to give PWI a break.

They cant build suspense with new game content so they have to take whatever they can get.

Woo lookie a good sale, wtf its gone.........

it sux...really. udont know how much time u have to farm, or sell ur stuffs to buy the items/golds. will bring the same prob that came with +11/+12 sale. some ppl sold a lot of items/gears to get golds. and in the end they couldnt have the orbs. if they knew they couldnt make it, they wouldnt have sold anything.
even for csers. imagine somene who charge IRL money, and the time the paymen t is accepeted the sale is gone. epic.

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.

Rules of Thumb on How a Business Can Die:

1 - A Customer can end a business (by deciding to go to another business)

2 - A Business can end a Customer (by actions or inactions - generally spurred by ego)

Wait, what are these stores that run sales without an end date? I worked retail for 3 years there was an end date on every price bracket in the store at all times, except for clearance which was a given. A sale with no end date means the customer feels no sense of urgency to buy now and will hold onto his/her money until they feel like spending it or a better price comes along, that's why a lot of stores have sales that last only a few hours each week or so. So all in all, kinda a fail business decision PWI.
