hmm...depends on what you want to do.
venonmancers have legendary pets, wich are awesome and are great to solo with.
mystics have healing skills AND can ressurect themselves (and others), which makes them wanted on squads, specially BH squads. Don't get me wrong; venonmancerss ARE wanted--just not as much as mystics.
Which one do you have more fun with? I don't feel comfortable reccomending a class knowing so little about your fighting style...
If you answer some questions, i might be able to tell you wich one fits you more:
-Are you willing to spend your money on mp charms/potions and remedies? (you are going to need A LOT of mp)
-Are you a versatile person?
-Do you like to heal people/having a "support" role on squads?
-Do you value attack over defence, the other way around or a balance of both?
-Do you like soloing instances?
-Are you likely to buy "good gear"?
-How much are you willing to spend for the sake of mp?0 -
Level a mystic in my personal opinion. That way you don't have to dish out 200 USD (for each) legendary pet, and instead get some epic pets just by completing some quests.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

I also have the same dilemma. Mind if I answer your questions and you could give me some advice as well? I would really appreciate it!
-Are you willing to spend your money on mp charms/potions and remedies? (you are going to need A LOT of mp) A: Yes. I like having a lot of MP.
-Are you a versatile person? A: A little bit. I like to test my limits with a character.
-Do you like to heal people/having a "support" role on squads? A: Yes, it's more action and a lot more to do and be careful with, instead of luring and debuffing and running after everyone else.
-Do you value attack over defence, the other way around or a balance of both? A: A balance of both, definitely.
-Do you like soloing instances? A: Not really, I prefer to have some friends with me, so we can share opinions and techniques and do funny stuff in the instance.
-Are you likely to buy "good gear"? A: As long as it keeps you alive in PvE situations and adds useful stats, helping you, that is "good gear" to me. I will not spend real life money for all the **** people get nowadays to be "super". I will use in-game funds I make to get gear which I find fits me and my play style.
-How much are you willing to spend for the sake of mp? A: As mush as it is needed.
Woot! Answered them all!
P.S.: I don't like the Herc. Pfft.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Meavelise, simply said girl if you aren't willing to spend time merchanting your *** off to afford stuff or spend gold to afford it.....
This game isn't for you.Nothing worthwhile to mention here, enjoy the animated signature~

That is because I will play this Game differently like it or not. I do not want to be in a kick-*** faction, have a crapload of snobbish, arrogant and "rich" friends and enter instances with a ton of people that just care to level up.
I want to play to enjoy this game, level slowly, sit around, take pretty screenshots, and that's it. I don't need the people in it or the so said "requirements" to be awesome nowadays - I just want to enjoy the graphics and relax.
Who dares to judge me for that? Not like I get in your people's way with anything. I'll just play this Game as I like, because it is a Game and you are supposed to make whatever you want of your time in it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Me personally, i would favour the mystic for a few reasons:
1. dont have to feed pet and tomes are expensive
2. dont have to level your pet as it levels as you levels
3. heal yourself
And i was wondering, can a mystic lure aswell?0 -
Having played both, I would definitely recommend a mystic. Venomancer can get really boring.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I prefer venos because they don't have to snort potions like an addict.Server: Sanctuary
Cyilvanis - 3x Veno
Lunaresse - 2x Psychic
Cereisse - 2x Mystic
Chandelyre - 2x Wizard
SatanicBlood - 58 Veno (Retired; Never Forgotten)0 -
I play both and the Mystic is 10x more fun and 100x less grindy. (pet leveling)
Yes it uses up MP like crazy but just buy a Plat MP charm and you're good. It is still WAY cheaper than getting a Herc and Nix.0 -

Yes, you summon your pet (usually devil) and send it to attack one monster in the group, then resummon it and after a second or two all the monsters except for the one you attacked will come to attack you. Now leveling devil increases the mp cost so it can get a bit costly mp-wise to pull when you have maxed devil, but if you keep him low his max chi is lower and his hp is also slightly lower, so it's really up to you on how you level it up until you can get sage or demon forms of petsMeavelise - Sanctuary wrote: »I also have the same dilemma. I would say you sound like more of a mystic, mystics are a nice class to have in a party with their plants for healing/debuffing, their pets for dealing damage or using sally to shield your teammates, and resurrect that you can cast before the battle instead of in the middle of it. Overall you'll be a much bigger help to your team as a mystic, since they are wanted only a bit less than tanks and clerics.
Also while venos and mystics can both be played on the cheap (using free stuff and gear found in-game) feeding a veno pet can be a pain to the point that you will want to buy the tome, and I agree with the post that said leveling pets is a pain, so overall I'd say you sound more like a mystic.
Mystic is the social butterfly that loves to be helpful and fill in the role of whatever is needed, Veno is the 1-man (or woman, I should say) army that soloed everything and makes tons of money from not splitting drops with anyone but has to put a lot of effort into it.
And you will get a lot of your mp back while chatting with your squad mates, might save you quite a bit on mp pots on your mystic b:laugh0 -
