I recently reached level 90 and finally got the full TT 90 set. This is my current gear http://pwcalc.com/830e515913fbc574 buffed with barb buffs only and not in tiger form.

I was wondering if you other barbs could help guide me on what I should get next to improve my gear and what to do as I level. My barb is built to tank stuff, I don't care what anyone says, my barb will always remain the classic barb and will never touch claws.

I'll never be able to afford anything that costs like, 20 mil+ so that's out of the question.
I am a barb that does not powerlevel, nor cash shop. I may not be the highest level, nor have the best gear. However unlike others, I know how to play.b:pleased

    20m-? :s I suggest you make money because your later gear is gonna cost quite a lot.

    My money is made purely by grinding, nothing more and nothing less. I don't get it very fast as a result.

    first: the 4 pieces of tt99 gold are around 80m, the warsoul helmet (which is a good helmet for end game) is around 20m. if u can't cash, the way is farm, if u can't or don't wanna farm 100m so give up your next gears...

    if u can afford here is a good combination

    refines and shards up to you... i used the basic.

    if u don't wanna spend more than 20m, stay with your gear and have fun. but keep in mind.

    My advise is stick with cheap legendary armour, nothing that's bound and go for R8 when you have 70/80m. Then R9 in the far future.

    I'm currently working on getting a swindlers neck. Just ran a TT and got 3 giant apes tails. When I said 20 mil I meant any 1 piece of equipment that costs that much unless there is another way to get it (like in pieces, not all at once). I already have some TT 99 mats so I'm building to getting that. I've always had an interest in the warsoul helm but its out of my price range currently.

    I suggest you turn into a claw barb and you can farm 30 to 40mil a day... b:victory
    It's fun when randoms walk up to you and call you a CSer when you know you farmed it all.. b:chuckle

    I'd suggest that. Aps barbs make the best tank and are the best way to make money to improve your other gear but the downside is you need to farm to get the gear before the gear starts paying ya back.

    But sounds like you're not looking for a tank barb or a farming barb but a classic vit barb (for TW?) Maybe make a farming character to pay for your barbs gear?

    If thats the case rank 8 is a reasonable option because it farmable in small pieces (rep). When you get 200k rep you get your lvl 100 axe for 2 mil, rank 8 chest for 1 mil, rank 8 pants for 1 mil, and a rank 8 ring. I'd avoid the belt since its physical and you really should go for a magic belt. Demon Slaughter is what I'd suggest. Swindler's necklace is very nice, but not resellable. You may want to get the OHT chrono belt instead for a couple reasons. It's free. You need to do chrono to advance your culti, anway. And repair on the OHT belt is 1 coin. always.

    So, the missing pieces are helm, boots, wrists, and rings. As a vit barb you're pretty much limited to Misty Forest. The upgrades from there are Sign of Frost for 25 mil and Sky Demon's for 90 mil. So use Misties until you can replace it with a rank 8 ring. Best helm is Warsoul because it refines for high hp. Don't be afraid to invest in the refines because it resells pretty well. You can try to farm a Nirvana helm (best choice) but classic barbs are kind of pointless in squads because they don't really do anything to help but want 1/6 the split so you'll have a hard time finding squads.

    Wrist and Boots. I like lunar since Lunar Nirvana is better so if I'm gonna bind something to me its something that I can use as a souledge down the line. It's farmable but are more expensive pieces. TT pieces run about 20 mil each. Lunar run about 30-35 for the lunar gold and don't get a set bonus. If you have a bm/seaker that might use them for aps then go TT for the -int set bonus.



    Lastly is the "I told you so." Most vitality barbs (who aren't TW/pvp and are pve) feel outdated and either wish they had planned on going aps or stop playing their barbs entirely when they realize how useless they are. Many get frustrated by the cost of changing their build and armor so consider the possibility that you might change your mind later.

    Actually yeah. I originally made my barb to pull a cata in TW. Then packs came out and I pretty much gave up on ever doing that since me competing with the pack buyers is downright impossible. I recently (and unexpectedly) ended up in a TW faction so I suppose I may end up doing that yet.b:chuckle I currently use my veno to get coins to get my barbs gear.     I think with your last statment, thats closed-minded.
    Yeah claws werent MEANT to be for barbs, but the directio nand flow of the game has changed. Everything is to be the best, and be the fastest while b the best, the only way to compete with that is either cash shop which you have CLEARLY said youre not going to do, or farm the shet you need.

    Being a pure axe barb, good luck finding squads to take you because anymore the only squads that farm for gear are aps. Im saying you could be claw AND axe, I only use my claws to farm before for my gear.

    Im a cata barb for my tw faction and a claw barb farming, and Im able to be that due to my claws to be able to farm, why only be 1 thing when you can be both? Im just saying I pity you for being so closed minded, when all claws does is really help you. b:bye

    I'm not trying to be the best nor do I have any interest in being the best. Never have and never will. As I said I already have a friend who will take me on my barb and my veno has already been on nirvana runs so its not like I have no access to those instances. Plus the faction my barb is in I doubt will have any issues taking me to places since they already use me to tank fairly often.

    That wasn't the point of my post from before. I was trying to get across, why put down being a claw barb when it does only but help you? Just because it wasn't "meant" for our barbs in the beginning of pwi, why live in the past? What about now? b:bye

    At this point in the game a barb not using claws is like only half a barb. I don't want to start the argument up again (check the front page and you'll find it 5 times I bet). Barbs that only have vit and use axes are too single purpose. It's kind of like a cleric that only attacks but can't heal, or a single weapon blademaster. The vit build really only has 1 niche and its cata puller.

    I know multiple people that have switched from vit build to tank/claw barb, but I've also seen it go the other way. One friend switched from vit build to claw build to farm, made a bunch of money and +10'd all his gear then reset back to vit build to catabarb (hated being vit build, got bored and went back to claw build later but that's beside the point). You can restat to claw, farm your gear and then restat to vit build later.

    I guess you could leech off your faction too, if they're willing to share their drops with you.

    I can't see your level right now but if you want to be a useful vit barb you might stay at 85 and not level and be a gamma barb.

    Other than that it really doesn't matter what we tell you. It's either out of your price range of is overkill for a vit barb. TT90 gear would be your endgame I think.

    I'd suggest getting the tt.90gold helmet, for later purpose you can make it into nirvana. Decent stats/refines at your lvl.

    Look at my join date. I'm an old player. I've been here since the beginning when barbs were the main tanks and there were only 6 classes. Each one had their role in a squad and things were fairly well balanced. I do not care what is going on right now, I will continue to play in the old style that was around before the game got ruined by packs and highly unbalanced new classes because that was when the game was actually good.

    This isn't the first game I played where everyone decided to use the wrong weapon for a particular class and I refused to do it and I'm sure it won't be the last. I like my barb a lot more than my veno and I will never change how he is.

    now if you don't mind me shedding some light on this subject, without going into the claw barb or not discussion, i will do so.

    My very first main was a vit build pure tank barb, and i was wanted EVERYWHERE to tank all their boses, run TT and what not. I then rolled a wizard to have some fun in other aspects of the game, like PvP and as a real DD in instances.

    Since then i gradually leveled up my barb with couple FC's here and there and unfortunatly went sage, but even i want to go claw barb with him, because tank barbs take like forever to grind any gear on.

    The choice is up to you, but any piece of 99 gear or up is 20 mil+, without shards or refines. and i admire you for sticking to the old way, but that way is no more.

    In my opinion i would just farm your 99 gear, and farm your nirvana uncanny crystals to turn it into nirvana when you get your 99 gear together. There is no other way of saying this like other people do.

    go for full farmed TT99 gear with your current build, refine and shard is decent, but not over the top. then go for nirvana and start sharding with vit stones and refine higher

    or go for added dex, get some lg claws and farm full nirvana in half that time, and enjoy being a decent cata barb in TW when you restat.

    Choice is up to you

    Imma say, thats not your join date unless you posted when you joined. That date is when you first posted, so yeah you posted in '08. Even with that, you seem like the old type, so whatever. I suggest if you feel like that, and enjoy your barb with TT90 green armor. b:bye

    I do plan to get my TT 99 gear by running the dungeon, and nirvana by doing the same thing actually. The faction director is looking to run TT 3-x for his 99 gear and he'll certainly help me get mine so that seems to be my current plan.

    I was just stating a fact, I could care less when you joined tbh, oldies like you obviously live in the past, but you asked what gear to get that wasnt too expensive and its obviously TT90 green. That's my opinion which you asked for. But good luck with whatever you farm, err- mooch.
