So I'm seeking advice from the math-wiz and pro that is the archer forums. I'm pretty close to this endgame gear and I was wonder what others thought about it. I love experimenting like my fail all-evasion armor or my delta-stated archer so feel free to give any suggestions or criticism! =P Yes, I've read all the threads about attack/defense levels and how attack levels have diminishing returns compared to defense levels. But I really do believe that, with my playing style, this will be so fun!

*Warning - here starts my random stream of consciousness*

I was originally a demon archer but switched to sage and found that it was more suited for me. My pokes already hurt a little bit so I'm hoping this setup will give it a tad more sting. I know for an archer, survivability can be more important than damage output. If you live longer, you can pew pew longer. But no matter how much defense levels I have or how much I spam defense charms, mages will still be able to 2-3 shot me! Having poor gear earlier on has thought me that I'm no tank by any means. Right now, I still die often but that may be because of my +8 armor and flawless citrines. xD I don't simply stand there and hope I can kill the target before he kills me. I have a 100+ magic genie and an alienware desktop so I can spam holy path like no one's business. I know the opposing faction quite well and know who I need to watch out for. There are simply a few that I have no chance against so I kite and run like a coward! Plus all I do is flank enemies and annoy the hell out of them in TW. xD

Anyways, what do you guys think about sharding all attack levels for an archer? Is it the next best thing or will I be majorly disappointed like I was with the incorrect description of sage stormrage eagleon? xD Good thing sharding all diamond of tigers is relatively inexpensive compared to the alternative. If I fail, I'll shard JoSD like every other archer or maybe a combination of both. But that would defeat the purpose of super glass canon archer that hits as hard as an archer possibly can! b:surrender

People used to shard all attack level gems, and I imagine some might still? But I have no experience in that part of the game, so I cannot comment much on how good it is. Still...

I imagine this setup would work great when you are alive, though of course the dps of a dead archer is rather dismal. Then again you would have higher unbuffed health and defenses than I currently have, and I am moderately hard to kill.

That said, holy path will not help you when you are stunned. And with that setup, you should attract the ire of a lot of assassins. So I would keep that in mind when planning your genie.

But why did you choose to have a strength tome instead of a dexterity tome? A lot of your damage potential comes from your armor so having the flexibility to have your armor fall off gets you nothing, and statting the strength to be native and the dexterity to your tome would give you additional flexibility.

Assuming he planned to only use that armor set, an equivalent level dex tome would have the advantage of 1% crit... and the disadvantage of everything else related to dex being lower. If he intends to stay pure bow as his build suggests, it actually works out in his favor to use the str tome like this.

he needs that tome to wear his gear cuz he statted out str for it so in the end it would be the same also cant make lv7 tomes with SoT that have 45 dex

    .... What?

First of all, he said he was getting close to that gear set, so we can't say for sure what he does or doesn't have in it. It's very likely he doesn't have the tome or hasn't restat the str yet and even if he did, he could always change that at a later date. So the issue of the str tome being needed for his gear... isn't an issue in the slightest.

Also, the stat distribution would NOT be the same, which is what I pointed out in my post (and there are no 45 dex tomes in the game so I don't even know why you brought that up). As I've said, the tome he used tome has greater overall benefits via restat than any level 7 (equivalent level) dex tome will.

truekossy is correct. The +45 str tome offers greater benefits than it's counterpart the +20 dex and +1 crit tome. I can't imagine any other gear that would be better than what I have now so this truly is endgame so no need to be flexible. Well, maybe I can get a second sky cover ring but those are impossible to find and I'm not doing PQ3 for one. xD

As for sins, I only have trouble with two or three sins and they are rank 9 with all diamond of tigers. Can't really do much when they get a lucky crit when I'm vulnerable! Otherwise they would just pop on me and I AD/IG/Sutra. Survive long enough for my team mates or I to take them out.

Oh and getting a couple more cube stamps and an SoT for the tome is on my to-do list next. =P

So... why do LAs use phy neck when they can refine the ring for phy def?

They use both pdef neck and refined rings because physical attacks are not as efficiently countered with def charms. Since wizards one shot other robes, I don't think getting more mag def is going to help a lot, especially with only 1 mdef buff available.

Some just have rank rings that can't be refined b:surrender

How does your computer increase your genie's recharge rate?

and why bother calling it an alienware? alienwares have sucked since dell bought the company and started slapping flashy lights and molded cases on their business machines.

In principle there is a 35 dex tome but if you upgrade it your dexterity decreases...

    So, ok, bah...

    (And, yes, I feel stupid...)

Not going to debate you on computers but lag is the number one killer and worst enemy in gaming. b:surrender

if you want the highest possible dps, you should probably try full aps with DoTs. With full +10 refines, you would have about 9.5k unbuffed hp. You should then go demon so you can quickshot and proc to 1.54 aps and 91 attack lvls. You would still be a 1shot to mages, but the enduring nature of that problem has already been discussed in depth.
