EU PvP Server update

Register on a PVE Europe server. Go white/pink/red name after hitting 30. Problem solved.

PVE generates more players and the two PVE servers barely got players so i dont see the point in making a PVP server as it would hold an even smaller population. Maybe in a few months they will dare to try it but i dont think it will succed if they do.

Then I feel like spending another century on Harshlands with my r8 alts... Because why would I waste my fun time on a PvE server which is hell boring unfortunately.
To be fair -- I am kinda shocked that they finally gave something to the EU community but "forgot" to include the best option of at least one server being PvP.

Both pve servers are empty? I thought when they opened. In Europe many people expect pvp server, and many say it was mistake to pve. If you take too long to open pvp server people do not go, and wait for other games.To my mind embarrassing!

Tbh i was excited about the EU Launch and now i dont care anymore. They wont introduce a pvp server unless a major increase in player hit the eu server.


I would love the eu event times but pve servers are boring, heck even pvp servers are boring but you can always start to pk some people and if you patiently wait a decent fight will start. The whole point about pvp servers is that you can kill anyone anywhere anytime. I hate to read this pve **** go white after level 30 and problem solved thats just not the same. People with simillar mindsets want the pvp server setup as playground, nobody ever forced to play here if he dont like it. But as i said with the current ammount of players its kinda unlikely they set one up.

And even if they do, there is no way i leave my beloved harshlands anymore.

yes, it's that vicious circle, isn't it?

BUT A major increase of players won't happen untill they introduce the "action" kind of servers, which is namely PvP in this case.

The problem is, let's face it : PvP is less popular than PvE.

I was here when they opened the first US servers. All PvP fans were claiming everywhere that the PvE servers will be a failure, that the majority of players preferred Pvp, blablabla....

They were deeply wrong. PvE proved to be much more popular than PvP.

Don't forget that the main goal of PWE/PWI/PWEU/PWCH is to be a profitable company. They decided to open their EU servers based on the two bigger language bases in Europe (beside english that is) : German and French. Their main goal I think was to cater to the needs of players who either don't speak english (there are more of those than you think), or want to play in their native language.

Was it a mistake? Only time will tell. But I doubt they decided upon that solution on a whim. They certainly did marketing researches before coming to this decision.

As far as server population goes on the FR server : judging from the number of catshops in West Archo (lots of them), and the variety of guilds present on the TW map (10 of them), I would say the server's population is not that bad. So don't believe the frustrated PvP fans saying the reverse.

Anyway, only PW knows for sure how the servers are doing. I doubt they would keep empty servers opened for long.

Their only mistake was to open them so late. Many euro players started on the US servers, and without a char transfer service, most of them will stay on the US server because of the time and/or money they already invested there.
