Well i run a unix operating system called Ubuntu, it is a linux operating system. I like this game so far and have to run it in wine, It runs well with a couple of flaws in the graphics. Like the monsters and other player including you are a all blue color, but only when in lowest graphics on. when i increase the graphics i cant see anything.

So my suggestion is a Linux based client. Or a good tutorial for us linux users to get the game runing on wine to where we can actualy see the monsters. Thanks for reading this.

I think the problem rests with you graphics card, and not wine. If perfect World was ported to linux, there probably would not be much improvement. The problem with linux is the fact that most graphics drivers are underdeveloped.

i used perfect world international with ubuntu using wine and the only problem i'm having is that when the game loads, i can't use the mouse in-game. is that a bug or can i go to the options menu and set it some kind of a way to use the mouse in-game?

I had the same problem. Just go to your wine settings and enable the emulation of a virtual desktop under "Graphics". The mouse will work, just don't alt-tab.

Sorry if I'm breaking rules by bumping an old thread, But I had this same problem in XP (service pack2) when I first set it up ... I had to update drivers, and mess with my mouse setting a bunch to get it to function properly ... anyways I am currently running Dreamlinux/debian (windows crashed and I wanted something better lol) ... So I should just use wine too?

You would have to. But there are a few issues and it does take a few work arounds but is very do able.

I did my best to make a sort of guide to do this on Ubuntu and it could just as easily work for you but remember I am no programmer lol

I also second the thought of a native linux client or wine guide/ playonlinux script, it shouldn't be that hard to use playonlinux and write a script, besides that is an untapped market and mmo's that work in linux is rare. A potential client base for perfect world is there just search google for questions about PWI and linux. Sorry for necro but I like to help where i can.
