Hi guys,

Could u please, please! b:beg ...add more flexibility and options for custom controls.

I'm a lefty (mouse in left hand & hotkeys mainly on keyboard number pad) and need to customize the keys to be able to play. I prefer navigating with the mouse since keyboard navigation, in my opinion, sucks cause it makes the character zig zag b:cry Please consider improving upon the following. (#3 would take care of # 1 & 2 as well)

1- It's so frustrating that there is no "Self Select" key like in most games! Please add one. With everything going on on the screen, it is nearly impossible to see where the mouse pointer is and makes it very hard to quickly select anything/anyone or to select a desired location for the character to go if they need to run to safety. A Self Select would be a life saver, literally b:victory .

2- For those of us that can't type (yet ...lol ) without looking at the keys, this is something that's just really annoying, the Jump/spacebar ...ur trying to chat and realize that ur character keeps jumping instead. Also, for a lefty mouse user like me, who has all the main hotkeys on the number pad, Jump is out of reach for either hand since it is not customizable. Please include Jump with the other hotkey customizable actions.

3- The basic controls in general and the inability to use the mouse as part of the controls customization is a deterrent. I will love u forever if u upgrade this! I love this game, but, i can't stand the limited controls! Please consider switching to, or having an option of, ONE handed navigation of character/camera-view with the mouse, instead of the outdated ...point, click and character follows to spot. With the current controls, if u need to redirect ur character mid way, mobs or players may be in the way not allowing u to click in a free/safe spot to redirect to or to quickly select ur self to heal ur self ...instead, u get killed while searching for the mouse pointer on the screen. The only other way to navigate is to also use ur other hand, navigating with the keyboard keys ...BUT u can't because that hand is busy casting spells, fighting and healing. So ur 2 options are to either, be able to cast/fight while being or going where you don't wanna be = getting killed, OR go where u wanna go but can't cast/fight to protect ur self during it = getting killed b:cry . (I realize that it may be necessary for the character to stop to do any casting while they r running)

A great example of one-handed navigation controls and hotkey customization options is on the game RIFT. Not only can u designate a hotkey for every action on almost any keyboard key and some mouse buttons (without being limited to 9 & 8 spaces on a bar), you can still point and click to move, but, if u instead keep the select button on the mouse compressed, the character walks/runs forward while at the same time u still use the mouse to navigate the character and camera-view (if using camera-view mouse button while walk/running the character keeps going in the same direction while u can rotate view to look behind the moving character), LEAVING UR OTHER HAND FREE!! ...to cast/fight; use pet and genie; heal ...all while going where u intend to go and having control of the camera-view with the mouse (u can also have hotkeys for camera-view on keyboard). Bottom line, everything would be at ur fingertips no matter how u play the game and you won't go crazy ...(as ur getting killed ...lol) ...searching for the mouse pointer amongst all of the effects ... b:pleased .

Even though people will say to cancel your target to buff/heal self i still think it would be nice to have a key that targets you. so

The problem I have with canceling target by hitting Esc, is that I have the mouse in my left hand. So, either I'd need to let go of the mouse to hit Esc and then fondle around readjusting where my mouse pointer is or I'd need to reach across to the opposite side of the keyboard with my right hand which means I cant use my hotkeys (number pad) at the time. It may seem like I'm being way too picky, but when ur talking about being able to react within milliseconds, it has a huge impact on game play.

In game, try pressing the K key. You can actually re-map some of the hotkeys that way, might help your situation a little.

Also, I too wish there was a fast way to select yourself. =\ Currently the fastest way is to just click the portrait of your character in the top-left hand side of the screen, but if you don't know where your mouse is that can be hard.

It's a pain because of the whole problem with not seeing the pointer, but I too find clicking on the portrait the quickest, .
If I use Esc to try to deselect, i never know what its gonna do. Usually it ends up closing windows i have intentionally open, instead of deselecting

I already have used the available method to move all the hotkeys (that r so far allowed to be customized) to the number pad side. There r just too many important actions that r left out of the current "Customize Hotkeys (Default K)" option, and that's been my point. I am suggesting PW implements a fully customizable option for hotkeys. It is nothing new, even old and no-name games I've played have it. Am hoping more ppl like u speak up about it

I concur veganblood, there should be a bit more options available to customize the interface. I have been MMO'ing for 10+ years (Asheron's Call, World of W**c***t and A**n). This is the second F2P MMO I've ever played (1st was Rappelz).

Mostly, I would like to see the option to configure two other keys to strafe (i.e. Q and E). I feel that this would not only allow us more control, but make it more comfortable to move about.

I also feel that the option to toggle on and off click to move would be nice. I find it incredibly annoying to be moving about and attempting to click on something, missing the target and then finding myself changing direction or moving when I did not so desire.

The ability to use a hot key to select yourself would be pretty nifty.

Is it just me or is the camera a little slow whilst turning? Would be great if we could tweak that.

Lastly, it'd fantastic if we could hot key an auto-run feature.

I am happy to see that there are others that feel the same way my wife and I do.

Just noticed, the "NEW Suggestion Compilation" is pretty much inclusive of most of, if not all of the suggestions made here. We should totally keep that one going and make sure to keep it at the top... so that if the devs do read it, they may have a better idea of what we all want. Plus it'll give them a central thread rather than multiples.

Just a thought.

I agreee with what u have said also. Like the strafe, I find that very useful, although for me, only if i can customize it to the right side of the keyboard.

Also wanted to tell u that i love ur Plato quote as well. Great choice for a forum signature
