download help!

Ok so whenever i try to download pefect world, once the 1st download is done, a pop-up screen appers and at the very top is says"open with" and right below it says"choose the program you want to use to open this file" and it give me a list of things like internet explore, Adobe reader, note pad, paint ect. and I dont know what to use. please help i really want to play perfect world.

    you need winrar or similar to open rarfiles

    so how do i get winrar or similar to open rarfile? because i dont know what ethier of those are?

    If you downloaded the "RAR file" (a file that ends with ".rar") then you have to extract the files from that to run the installer. Get 7-Zip (<- click that link), it's free and it can open WinRAR and several other file archive formats.

    If you downloaded the torrent file (a file that ends with ".torrent") then you will need to get a BitTorrent client (like uTorrent), and use that to open the torrent file so it can download the RAR file for you.

    If you downloaded a patch file (a file that ends with ".cup") then you will need to install the game first, and then you can use that file to update the game to the current version by doing a manual patch from the launcher (the launcher will tell you you need an update, hit cancel, then click the "Manual" button and select the patch file to do a manual patch.) Make sure you're using the right patch file (the launcher will show your current version number, so the patch file should patch from that version number to a higher one).

    Finally, if you haven't downloaded the RAR file and aren't familiar with BitTorrent, you might want to use the Internet installer instead. Go to the Downloads page and click the "Direct Download" link. That will download the Internet installer, which you can run and it will download the game for you. That way you won't have to mess with torrents or RAR files.

    I'd recommend the last option if you're a newbie to RARs and torrents.

    Best advice I can give you is this: Don't download PWI.

    Ok sangodoc so i dont know anything about Pc, but i want to play PWI and i dont want to have any problems with the game. So could you recommend me with the best opion for downloading the game?

    And could you walk me through the steps if it isnt too much trouble?

    In other words, don't expect everyone to share your opinions, likes, or dislikes. Some people enjoy the game, some people don't. Heck, you liked it well enough to get to level 100. So he should try it out and form his own opinion.

    either way you go you'll have to unrar it, personally torrents are more reliable.

    Pretty much what I just said above in the "Finally" paragraph.

    Just go to the Downloads page (click that link) and then click the "Direct Downloads" link. That will download the Internet installer.

    After that download is complete, run the Internet installer (it will be named something like "PerfectWorldInternational_Downloader_062911.exe") and it will download and install the game for you.

    Then run the Perfect World launcher (there should be a link to it in your Start menu now, the location varies depending on Windows version though). The launcher will then check the files to see if you have the latest version. If you don't, the launcher will need to download the latest patches. In this case, just select a patch server (it doesn't really matter which one) and let it install the patches. You will then need to re-run the launcher after the patches are installed.

    Then just click the "Start" button, wait for the game to start, select a server, enter your username and password, and then start the game. (Considering that you have a level 16 avatar, haven't you done this already?)

    yes i have done this befor but it was last year i didnt have all these complacations, and i recently got a new laptop.
