Error While Updating

It had been awhile since I had last used my account, and so now it's going through an update, but it's stuck in one place in the update and keeps saying "File Download Appear Error, Retry?" and it gives me the choice to stop the update or try again. I've tried again multiple times and I've also hit "Stop Update" once and I can't get into the game. How can I fix this??? You're help is much appreciated b:sad

    I too have the same problem, the file it is stuck on is one named 2272.dds, if that helps.

    I have the same problem... Yesterday the problem was some mlc.dss and now when I installed this and verified the files to make sure there are nothing missing at installation progress. But now I have strange chinese language which I cant even copy and paste.

    This is frustrating :(

    I too have the same problem. I just downloaded the game today and i wanted to start playing it but it won't update.

    Any ideas ?

    I've the same problem too.. And yes, it sucks!
    At the first time I downloaded PWI, I had no problems with it.
    But now I've a new pc, and I downloaded PWI at this pc..
    Now I got this problem too.
    I hope there's someone who can help us(us = all the people who haves the same problem).

    My problem can be a bit worse, because, sometimes mine connects, sometimes it doesn't.

    Would be nice if a Community Manager actually looked here...

    ANyhow, update problems here as well. It hangs on around 20% on the file litmodel_1150.bmd. I tried to connect to both patch servers, but neuther is able to get past this file :(

    I'm having this same problem, and the area its stuck on for me is litmodel_147.bmd, it just keeps saying theres an error, and asking me to retry, but going no further than that. I've stopped the update once, and retried, but it gets stuck in the same place over again. Is there some way this can be corrected so I can finish my updates?

    It seems nearly everyone has this updating problem. Here is a simple solution.

    1) Close your launcher/updater.

    2) Go to pwi.perfectworld.com

    3) select the tab for "Download"

    4) scroll down a few screens until you see the title "Patch Updates"

    5) select the patch and then select run.

    Have fun with the game :) hope this helps everyone.

    Hey everybody, I was having the same problem, even tried installing twice, verifying all, etc. Saw this forum thread, tried the latest direct patch DL from PWI, I went with the 515-560 one which may have been overkill but it WORKED!

    Problem solved.

    Manual patch was working, but perfect world and my VGA (radeon 6870) was fighting, but now they are friends and my game works perfectly again :3

    I manually dl'd the patch the Shluiska linked to, and it is now updating, I will report back if that fixes my problem entirely.

    I tried to update the game and had to go back and verify files when I did it then tried to update and got stuck on 54.dat so I tried the manual patch yet it says my version is the same as the update and will not go any further and closes the patch.
    Then I downloaded the entire game again both through Direct download and Torrent download and during installation it stops at 53.dat and will not go any further. I disabled my anti virus, firewall and proxy servers as suggested by PWI and still nothing. I downloaded the game with Firefox and IE and still the same issue. b:infuriated
    This is ridiculous been playing this game 3 years and never had trouble like this before. Lets hear what you think will work and what PWI plans to do about it as well.

    b:surrender Does no one read Stickies? The auto-update servers have been down since yesterday. Using the manual patches is the only way to get around that.

    Edit: And now it seems the sticky is missing. .__. Ugh.

    Hard to use a manual patch when trying to install the game not update it. Try reading the post before replying. b:chuckle
